The Portland Trail Blazers despite its youth laden line-up is considered as one of the top teams in the Western Conference.
In fact in the last National Basketball Association (NBA) season the Blazers made to the playoffs with its top guns shooting guard Brandon Roy and center Greg Oden.
The recent signing of former Philadelphia Sixers starting point guard Andre Miller to a three-year $21 million deal further makes the Blazers an even better team in the incoming NBA season.
Miller who average 16.3 points and 6.5 assists for the Sixers last season is considered as one of the top in his position in the NBA games.
The entry of the 10-year NBA veteran further boost the point guard position of the team which already have Steve Blake and rising young basketball star Jerryd Bayless.
The NBA veteran is expected to orchestrate plays for the Blazers and make life easier for its top scorer in Roy.
Miller has expressed joy over the signing since the Blazers are one of the best in the NBA despite its young roster.
The NBA star point guard said he will do his best to help the Blazers its quest for another championship trophy.
The 33-year-old player was the eighth overall pick in the 1999 draft out of Utah by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Over his career, he has averaged 14...6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 7.4 assists in 815 games, 768 starts. He has 174 career double-doubles.
During his career as a Cavalier he was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team, became the first player in Cleveland history to win player of the week twice, set a franchise record for total assists in a season (882) and was the only NBA player to average 10+ assists and points during the 2001–02 NBA season.
He played for the US national team in the 2002 FIBA World Championship.
Miller is currently tied for the 13th highest assist-per-game average (7.6) in NBA history. He has also played in 501 consecutive games, the longest active streak in the NBA.
What makes Miller such a great player is the fact that he is a clutch player who knows how to execute in critical moments of the game which is what the Blazers want as it tangles with the other superpowers in the Western Conference.
Both Roy and Oden expressed joy over the singing of Miller since they believe he has the skills to bring them over the hump.
The decision of Miller to leave the Sixers for Blazers is seen a great loss for his former team.
Sixers star forward Andre Igoudala said the Blazers will even become a much better them with the entry of Miller.
Portland Trail Blazers team fans who are hoping for a much better season for the team got their answer in Miller.
The incoming NBA season is more exciting for hoop fans around the world who should not miss to watch the NBA games live.

For once Blazers get a veteran floor leader, something they lack during their series with the Rockets.

Miller's joining will make Blazers better and more competitive in the League! If Oden can have a steady play,i think Blazers can compete with Lakers!I am looking forward to Blazers in the next season!

Anytime a team gets a pass-first team-first point guard it's always a plus. Much has been said about Roy being more effective if he has the ball in his hands but i do feel this will even help Roy more as he can concentrate on other aspects (defense and rebounding) without thinking much that he run the team for the entire 48 minutes. Good signing for the Blazers--- Blake and Miller rotation at the point means you have a heady player inside there at all times.

Pass what? No way we are talking about the same player. Andre Miller is an horrendous fit for the Blazers. Portland needs a point guard that can play off the ball and be a 3 point threat. (like Derek Fisher or... yes, Steve Blake) Andre Miller is a ball hog that can't shoot.

Yes his three point shooting is atrocious at the NBA level; but i really believe he is a team player. His assist numbers are above average as well; i don't know how you can say he is NOT a pass-first point.

i guess we will see.

Yes they need a big time shooter someone like Mike Miller, Michael Redd or Jason Kappono, but Andre Miller can really run the floor for the Blazers, many of their young players like Roy and Bayless would benefit a lot from his experience and his toughness, he would bring to them a true Leader and would add a lot to their offense finding the open man and penetrating and getting some good mid-range shots after Aldridge's screens he would have many options to go for.
I think Miller is very good benefit a lot better than Blake(better shooter but not a tough player and cannot run the team like Miller will), Rodriguez(very talented but doesn't give it everything in each game he steps out in some minutes at certain games but that's it not as he plays with Spain) and Bayless(still young but so quick, and with a lot of heart, intensity and passion for the game and can really electrify the crowd, he would benefit a lot of Miller's addition maybe losing some minutes but gaining a lot of experience?
