That would be great! It'd be nice to see the high profile recruits venture out West as the Pac-10 has been down for some years.

Although, I've never been very impressed with Muhammed when I've watched him. I should say, he's impressive, no doubt, but for a #1 player in his class I expect to see a man amongst boys. His game is refined and has few holes but I don't see that outright physical dominance that I've seen from some of the recent high school greats like John Wall, Tyreke Evans, Dwight Howard, Amare Stoudemire, Lebron, Carmelo. All of those guys were considered either the top or one of the top 3 guys in their class and when they played they looked like they had no business playing against guys their age.

Would you rather have Purvis or Muhammad?

I haven't seen Purvis play live but I have seen highlights and a little bit of game tape so I can't give a very informed opinion but I'll give an opinion anyways. I think Muhammed would be the better pro just based off of the height and wingspan difference that is apparent. Purvis appears perhaps a little more explosive and strong off the dribble. So, as college prospects perhaps close to equal but as NBA prospects Muhammed seems to have the edge.

I'll choose Muhammad at this point if I was a head coach of a school though Rodney Purvis has his great upsides.

But I choose Muhammad as the latter has been working hard as of late with his dribbling and foot-work to be a two guard. Muhammad has the skillset and craftiness to be an elite two guard in the future.

It is so difficult to find a two guard in the mold of Bryant.

While Purvis as I said cannot be ignored as well wherein he alongside others like Andrew Harrison are being molded into Derrick Rose proto-types.

So far, I am impressed with Purvis. He can play both the point and the two guard. Purvis has upper body strength coupled with explosive athleticism plus the handles to be a Rose or Westbrook type of guard.

What surprised me was Purvis' court vision where the defensive coverage is often left guessing what has transpired. In a recent tournament, at one point, Purvis went full speed into the basket and passed into a wide open shooter. In short, Purvis feigned a strong drive just to pass for a high percentage open shot.

Plus, Purvis is exceptional in finishing at the wide open court.

Purvis has a natural feel for the game that's scouts like.Purvis primary weakness is that he is a bit in between positions as there are questions whether he can truly handle playing the point guard positon and whether he possesses the size and strength to truly be an elite shooting guard.

The thing about Muhammad that you can already project him as a Shooting Guard. Scouts compared him to Kobe because he has the killer instinct that drives superstar swingmen like Kobe Bryant. He needs to Learn to involve his teammates ball tends to stop when it gets in his hands, Not a great creator for teammates

Rodney Purvis is a slasher supreme. He is impossible to keep out of the lane at times. He is very strong and a very good athlete. His quickness, strength, size and solid handle allow him to get where ever he wants on the court, whenever he wants. He reminds me of dwayne wade when goes to the hoops.

Nice assessment and I cannot disagree.

I for one am looking forward to seeing Muhammad play in the college ranks. Plus his basketball IQ is very well noted. I can see him a top three NBA draft pick in the future.

On Purvis, I think it is 70% tunnel vision and 30% floor vision. The potential is high as I would like to compare him with Andrew Harrison, who is another good prospect to watch out.

UNLV fans are so high on Muhammad that the crowd has been wooing him in an effort to recruit him for UNLV.

Muhammad recently paid a visit to the Arizona Wildcats campus. It looks like Muhammad is in no rush. After all, he can go to any top rank school he likes.

Muhammad showing the lethal floater and his overall athleticism.

Muhammad scored 12 of his 27 points in the first quarter as Bishop Gorman routed Douglas High (Northern Nevada) 73-38.

Muhammad was named 2012 Naismith High School Player of the Year.
