Faked the pass to the shooter on the wing for an easy layup, composure and IQ on display here.

Jovic's size and length resulting in great recovery block that led to transition and beautiful pass from Bogi.

Again, his size is disrupting passing lanes leading to unstoppable transition. Really athletic play here.

Jovic already clutch for Serbian team. Great step back three.

Limitations are obvious, we have 8-9 men rotation, the rest of players are just not adept for this level.

I like the starting lineup S. Jovic-Bogdanovic-Dobric-Jovic-Milutinov, with Avramovic, Guduric, Marinkovic and Petrusev off the bench. That's our main rotation. The problem is we don't have a back up PF and back up PG. Avramovic and Guduric are trying to fill in that role but it's obvious we are going to suffer im some parts of game due to lack of playmaking.

Bogdan going nuclear and Jovic rising as the second best player on this team will keep our chances for medal contention considering somewhat favorable draw.

Very good games from Avramovic and Petrusev vs Brazil.

In regard we miss 6 or 7 important players, our team has some quality. We haven't obvious lacks, even we have some forte.
On inside positions defensively we have lacks, mostly physical. We have troubles in offensive creating. Offense is too slow, too statical, lot of wasting time, lot of handoffs in same position. One injury could harm a lot.
Quarter-final is medium level, semi-final is success, medal is big ovearchievement, everything under quarter-finals is big underachievement.

It wil be a test on how modern Jovic and Pettrusev will be at 5, it would be big if smailagic had played

Smailagic would have been valuable asset for this team, especially his shooting and p&p game. Jovic is a PF and will play C only in case of emergency. Petrusev will split minutes between 4 and 5.

There will be a lot of multiple screen sets for Bogdan in just one possession which will allow his off ball game from NBA to translate very well. Bogdan and Jovic have to play together for as long as possible. Their connection is real and their basketball instincts unmatched in this team. Hopefully, Guduric and Avramovic will keep the bench steady.

This kid is going to be a big piece of Serbian team for the next 10+ years. He is so aggressive and always know what to do with the ball, driving, shooting or passing. I would like him to get more touches on offense but it's probably better this way to just take what is given in a rookie campaign. No need to burn him with big expectations right now. I like very much how Pesic is handling this situation, trusting Jovic a lot already but not putting him in the spotlight. Similar to how Djordjevic handled Jokic's rookie campaign in 2016. But he is making impact anyway, which only proves how talented he is and that his game fits perfectly modern basketball. Too bad Poku got injured, I think he would have made similar impact on this team.

It's still unknown what this team can do against serious opponents. Defending three point line remains problematic, so I guess games vs Italy and Dominican Republic will definitely show how serious we are. We are also losing important players each game, Petrusev got injured after playing very well against China, and now Avramovic who has been really good for us this entire time also got injured vs Puerto Rico. Luckilly, I don't think they will miss much time but it can throw them off the rhythm. We are also lucky to have S. Jovic, he is not in his prime anymore but incredibly important for us in this situation. I think Avramovic will definitely have a place in this team even in full roster. I expect Guduric to stop using so many pump fakes and be more decisive. What I think about this team is that we can make it to 1/2, but we could also lose to both Italy and Dominican Republic. We really need to show up against those teams and build more confidence gling forward.

I've been telling Serbian fans to watch out for the menace called Nikola Jovic this summer, no matter how young he is and despite the fact that this is his first real experience playing at senior level with big minutes - this kid has all the tools to be a lethal player. No matter what happens, whether we lose next few games or win, the biggest win is getting a player like Jovic as one of core players for the future. On top of that, the kid seems to be enjoying in Serbian uniform, which is very pleasing to see.

His first 20+ point game (of many, many as it seems) in like third real game for NT. Probably a sign of things to come. 25/2/3 with 9/9 shooting and 5/5 from the three point range.
I thought watching Jokic and Bogdan this tournament would be the ultimate experience, something similar to watching great players from previous generations, but this Jovic kid is an adequate compensation for Jokic . You can really see that Bogdan and Jovic are different breed. Jovic is a prototype of a player with NBA mindset, he is so fast in his decisions while also adjusting exceptionally well to FIBA ball and general play within flow of the offense thanks to his high IQ. The thing is he is not forcing anything, just takes what defense offers him and is completely at the service of the team. I can imagine how good he is going to be once he gets more experience and freedom in upcoming years. If Topic pans out to be what we expect from him, the transition game between these two fellas will be something else.

Bogi is heating up, playing like an ultimate leader. This was his 2017 and 2019 version.

Milutinov absolutely great in both ways, exploiting missmatches perfectly.

S. Jovic is still a class of a playmaker - 13 assists.

With all this being said our defense at the three pint line is still very susceptible and will have to improve a lot for Italy and Dominican Republic.

Do you now by heart what is the ratio of WC participation to qualification to 2nd round for Serbia?

How many times Serbia qualified for the WC and how many times Serbia qualified for the 2nd WC round?

Nikola Jovic will be better than Bjelica.

Pity for Pokusevski, I was happy to see him with Jovic.

Borisa Simanic had to be urgently operated after a blow he took at kidney in the game against South Sudan. He will recover without any serious consequences, but this is just brutal. All the best to him and hope for fast recovery.

We keep the record straight - losing one player each game.

Its a pitty if players get injured. Refs allow a lot of phyiscal contact. Maybe too much.

Its not about refs, its about terrible format with 32 teams. Half of these teams are serbian league level with a lot amateur players.

How many healthy players do you have now?

It looks like Petrusev and Avramovic have recovered from their injuries and they will be good to go vs Italy. We should have everyone available except Simanic.

Jovic definitely has potential to be better than Bjelica. He even grew an inch this year, so he is like 210 without shoes. It will be tough to contest his shot combined with really quick release. At his prime, I'm looking at a player able to shoot from every spot on the floor. Ability to dribble and pass only add to his upside. Bjelica could do a lot stuff in his prime, but Jovic can do it even better and faster.

Great test vs Italy. This game will tell more about this team and what we can expect going further. I said earlier before the start of tournament that Jovic could be our X factor and give us more versatility on offense and that's exactly what happened. I don't think his numbers are sustainable, he is going to face much stronger teams going forward, but the sole fact that he became very valuable weapon means oppossing defense will guard him much harder which will allow other players more space and that will be especially important for Bogdan to get a few easier looks and find good rhythm. I think Serbia is the better team and Italy doesn't look as good as last year, but anything can happen. One thing is certain, we have to close in on Italian shooters with timely rotations and make a real ball pressure on their guards. We can't allow them much time to run multiple p&r in one possession. Avramovic, S. Jovic, Marinkovic and Dobric will be very important in this aspect. Melli is the most important player for Italy. Everything goes through him...p&r, p&p, passing from the high post...and he is their best defender too. He has been a very difficult cover for us. We need to be very physical with him. I hope Jovic won't feel big pressure to deliver after great games so far. But his mere presence will make things a lot easier on offense. Hopefully, Petrusev and Avramovic are not too rusty for this game. So many puzzles about this team, but I think they can surprise.

Borisa Simanic lost a kidney. Unreal consequences for this good man. He is still so young, I hope Federation and State will take care of him.

This should not happen in sports. Refs should protect basketball players. Its sports and not war.
