First of all ,whats the meaning of callin players and cutting them before the camp even starts.Just weird. Then cutting Micic instead of Jovic is a surprise to me.Jovic is scrappy defender but really limited offensively.

Yes Djordjevic has that weird thing, but quite possible that Exitche is right. As for Jovic over Micic, I don't believe that even Jovic will make it, we need more SGs. Teo/Markovic as only PGs and Nedovic as combo. Time my prove me wrong...

Here is what Đorđević said about Macvan and Jokic:

„Macvan is not a kid, he is an excellent player but at this moment he isn't in my top 12 or 14 players. It wasn't my intetnion to bring him through whole preparation period and than cut him out. I don't want to that to him.“

At first, i was a bit surprised that Đorđević cut him out so early, but i supposed that he wasn't in his plans and just didn't want to drag him down after preparations. On the other hand, Mitrović is young, he still has to prove himself in NT and wouldn't bother going through preparations even if he knows that there are small chances to make the final cut. If they stay healthy, it's safe to say that Bjelica and Erceg are going to be our PF's at Eurobasket.

About Jokić: „He will be one of the most important players for our NT once he decides that NT is his top priority. He refused to play this summer with his generation for youth team, because he wants to go to the NBA. OK, i don't mind if he wants to develop his game, but we have to award some other guys for their effort and behavior, even though i would really like to coach him.“

And another thing is clear after his interview, Raduljica and Marjanović are going to share minutes, while Kuzmić and Milutinov are going to compete for the last spot at C.

On this day, 20 years ago, Serbia (SRJ back then) won golden medal at European basketball championship in Greece by beating powerful Lithuanian team in the final. Đorđević went wild with 41 points, Danilović had a fabulous game highlighted with the famous dunk over Sabonis.

After being forced to miss couple of championships between 92' – 94' due to international sanctions for well known reasons, we made an unforgettable comeback. More than 100.000 people welcomed our legendary team.

That was a fantstic game, and a top achievement by the Serbs. Some fools in the stands thought that your team was the darling of the referees, and booed the national anthem, hich still makes me feel ashamed of my compatriots, 20 years later. The majority felt proud and happy of our Serbian friends, and I hope that this apology is accepted. Anyway, Greece was a second home for many many Serbs during the civil war.
Also, many thanks for the kindness and joy that Serbian fans showed towards the Greek team when Greece won the 2005 Euros in Belgrade.

Apology accepted :)
No worries, it's water under the bridge. Duda Ivković spoke about it yesterday when asked to make a review about those circumstances, and he told the media that Greek basketball federation sent a letter of apology to our basketball federation and that everything was finished in a friendly and brotherly correspondance. We cant't hold it for bad because we have strong memories from the WWI that relate us with Greece, especially Corfu and Salonica during the breakthrough of the Salonica front.

Thank you for your level-headed opinion. See you in Lille, hopefully. If you have these Duda comments in English, I'd be happy to read them, and filter them to the Greek media.

Let me try to forecast final rooster of Serbian team:
PG: Teodosic, Markovic, Jovic
SG: Bogdanovic, Nedovic, Milosavljevic
SF: Kalinic
PF: Bjelica, Erceg/Mitrovic
C: Raduljica, Marjanovic, Milutinov

It was hard choice to pick between Erceg or Mitrovic because I think Djordjevic favors Mitrovic although he realizes Erceg is in good shape and he is still better player then Mitrovic. Also I believe Milutinov could play as PF due to his quick feet and fine shooting mechanics, although he didn't had much experience as PF due to Partizan problems with tall C's

woww what a quality pf position bjelica and erceg

No Miljenovic?
No Musli?
No Tepic?

What the fuck is that? Djodjevic was lucky last summer. He shouldn't change much, of course, but he had a 2nd tier team on his hands and he achieved great coherence. Now he has full team. What is that squad? That's plain ridiculous

Well I disagree on Musli and Tepić, however Miljenović could be worth a chance, along with Mičić imo.

btw. haven't seen you around in a while friend :) welcome back

Miljenovic,r u kidding me? wardjdim ur not one to question Djordjevic's decision especially after this post with Musli Tepic and Miljenovic,Miljenovic can play for Metalac and Mega Vizura with his 70kg if he were to fall on floor he would fall apart all around floor,Serbian NT is not a playground where players "could try" to play,if they want to play then they play whole season and earn their spot in NT

Serbian fans who haven't seen Kuzmic are going to be pleasantly surprised. Massive improvement in his two years in the NBA/D-League. Nice touch out to 18 feet, good instincts defensively. Above average hands, competes hard & gotten stronger. Quicker up & down the court than Miroslav/Boban.

I guess Đorđević has only one big dilemma regarding final roster. He'll have to choose between Milutinov/Kuzmić for the third center spot. At the moment, i think Kuzmić is a better fit for our team, because he seems to be stronger, better rim protector and defender than Milutinov. Knowing that both Raduljica and Marjanović are, at the best, average defenders, my choice would be Kuzmić. But i have to admit that my opinion of his game is based on a really small sample of games, so i'll have to wait for preparation games to get to know him better.

What do you think of Raduljica then? I am curious, because he just signed for Panathinaikos, and I wonder what they are getting. He was fantastic in the Worlds last year, but that was just a 3-week-period. It's not the same as being a year-round team member, even with Djordjevic as his coach.
Pavlovic, too. I remember him from the nBA, but obviously much time has passed since then.

Raduljica is a specific kind of player. If you want his best, he needs to feel comfortable with his teammates on the floor, coach must trust him (which won’t be a problem since Đorđević took over Pao).

As for his game, you got a fine, skilled offensive center with good post moves, nice touch around the basket. I think he can also shoot the ball well too, but I don’t think Đorđević will ask him to do that.
On the other hand, he is not a good rim protector, he tends to get lost in defense, so you will need a defensive minded backup big man beside him. He is emotional player, atmosphere on and off the court has a great impact on his play. He’s a likeable dude.

As for Pavlović, I’m not sure what to think. As a basketball fan, I have to love him. His first step is amazing, by far the best in european basketball. His outside stroke isn’t dependable, but when he gets on fire nobody can stop him. He can play defense but only when he wants to. He’s a bit washed up, but in a proper system when he isn’t asked to do a lot and when he plays about 15-20 min. per game, he can do damage. I know that Đorđević appreciates him a lot, he tried many times to convince him to play again for NT. His best quality is isolation game, very hard to be stopped in 1 on 1 situations. And another thing, he tends to get nervous during the game, especially if he feels that referees don’t appreciate him.
