MGA KAPWA KONG PINOY, CHILLAX!
(My fellow Pinoys, take a chill pill!)

Nakakahiya na yung iba sa atin dito. Nakakakita ng malisya sa wala.
(I am ashamed of some of the posts by my countrymen. They find malice where there is none!)

Statements like the ones Yao Ming said about Naturalized players and some of the posts here are NOT insults. They are VERY CORRECT observations that don't mean to DEMEAN the Philippines. DON'T TAKE IT NEGATIVELY UNLESS YOU'RE SURE.

Here's a tip, before posting. Count one to 10. And look at the post again.
IT MIGHT NOT BE AN INSULT.

REMEMBER THAT FOR MOST OF US IN THESE THREADS (our Asian neighbors, some of our countrymen) ENGLISH IS NOT THE FIRST LANGUAGE.
Hell, even some of us here claiming to know how to speak English submit posts rife with grammatical snafus that betray their limited fluency.

SO THE PERSON MIGHT NOT BE SAYING ANYTHING BAD OR HURTFUL AT ALL. It may be lost in translation, or we may be too high strung about it.

PLEASE ACT LIKE DECENT FILIPINOS AND THINK BEFORE POSTING.

For example, I am amazed that most Filipinos are taking the Jordan protest as an insult when it is the RIGHT of every team to do so. Because while WE did nothing wrong. FIBA ASIA messed up by informing the teams that Lutz and Lassiter couldn't play yet. And midway through the game, it was overturned. Essentially, our line-up changed in the middle of the game. To the letter of the law, that is unfair to Jordan. However, the context of what transpired over the last week makes it different in that FIBA ASIA screwed up by not letting the two play. Still, I won't blame Jordan for protesting. THink about it, we would be doing the same if it were the other way around.

Me, I'm GLAD they let Lassiter and Lutz play. I don't think Jordan's protest will affect the outcome but they do deserve an apology from FIBA ASIA (As do we) for the screw up.

SA MADALING SALITA. HUWAG BALAT SIBUYAS. KONTING DECORUM NAMAN DIYAN. NAG MUMUKHANG SKWATING TAYO NG BOARDS EH. Please take it easy. Being hurt does not give us the right to hurt others who don't deserve it. And if there are trolls from other nations...IGNORE THEM. Even their own countrymen don't bother with their stupid comments, why should you?

BASICALLY, TRY A LITTLE UNDERSTANDING.

Thanks.

no...
you're the only one taking things seriously here...

patriotism doesnt grow overnight... we dont have any problem with that fact... why would you and yao ming have?

the phils is just more liberal and democratic than china... you can be what you are here...

I don't think they have a problem with it. They were just making a valid observation.

What they are saying is in GENERAL, the way the game has evolved all over the world, naturalized citizens are a fixture. And as such, you will see players like that everywhere.

Like you said, patriotism doesn't grow overnight. That's their whole point. It wasn't directed at the Philippines as an insult. It was directed at the practice of naturalized players as a whole.

Please don't try to find hate where there is none.

PSYCHOPATH! THEY DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IT. I'VE READ THEIR STATEMENTS OVER AND OVER AND THERE IS NO MALICE INTENDED.

you're the only one who has a problem here...

did i use any foul words? did i use any insults? we're just exchanging thoughts... you better read my statements too...

dont try to find a problem when there's none... we're ok here...

same thing with the philippines, without Marcus Douthit we are doomed ;)

But even we have Douthit, we're still bound to be doomed, unless we excel in our outside shooting! The program should focus more in strengthening our SGs/SFs position...we really need many SHOOTERS in our team, that's the only way to become a powerhouse again with the likes of China and Iran, low-post plays should be a bonus 'coz these tow teams have too many 7 footers!

precisely, Douhit is the integral part of the system..he opens up the shooters and our last line of defense not mentioning his rebounding contribution..

if we win against japan tomorrow, I'm sure we will go to the semis,

i hope marcus douthit will be 100% healthy

I like Marcus much more than CJ Giles (the other naturalization candidate). I may not know him, but from what I can observe, he has a good temperament and is a good team player. He's not an airhead who thinks more highly of himself than his team mates.

And from what I can remember (anyone please correct me if I'm wrong), if the national anthem is playing as recorded music (like in cinemas), you have the option not to put your hand over your left chest. I still do however, and it would be nice to see Kuya Marcus do it too.

kinda sucks, I knew the result before I watched the replay. would have been great if I did not know.

anyway, amazing comeback, 18 points down in the 2nd quarter.

for posters saying fiba asia level regressed, we don;t care, we'll take any win we can get our hands on.

I can't agree with you more! And thank you for the explanation, obviously you understood what I was trying to tell him. :)

Not that I am a big RP fan but from the way I see it, RP has a a big chance to take a way with a win today against Japan

lol at some of the filipino forumer here. We just won one game and they think that RP can beat any team now.

That was a very good defense from the Philippines :)

Rasheim wright always have a hard time playing against the philippines ever since..i dont know but maybe Filipino guards just are better defenders on the perimeter when it comes to one-on-one or lock down D..However our zone and transition D needs quite an overhaul..or maybe the philippines is just his 'kontra-pelo" <jinx>:D
