It's happening. Taiwan Beer's reigning MVP Liu Cheng is bound for the CBA and be signing with Zhejiang Guangsha, the club of superstar Lin Chih-Chieh.

So the SBL will lose another star for better pay and competition in China, but it will help the national team. Pure Youth may as well win it all this season, provided that Yulon or Dacin improve dramatically.

Also, it seems Chang Tsung-Hsien aka Jet Chang will enter the SBL after missing the player registration last year.

According to reports, Chen Ze Yu will be signing with Yulon.

After stints with Taiwan Beer and KKL, Chen could finally get his chance of proving with Yulon. Chen will aid in gearing up the uptempo attack that Yulon is promising for next season.

RIP Rolando Howell, former Dacin foreign player who died after post-surgery complications.

2016 SBL Draft Order

KKL, Fubon (Can be traded to Taiwan Bank), Bank of Taiwan(Can be traded to Fubon), Taiwan Beer, Dacin, Taiwan Beer (Can be traded to Yulon), Pure Youth

"Jet" Chang Tsung-Hsien was selected first overall. At 27 years old, he is one of the oldest rookies to have been drafted. Second is versatile guard Su Yichin while third is mercurial bigman Fan Shi-Ehn, who played for the U19 NT in 2011.

Pure Youth's Chen Shijie is moving out of the SBL to play with Fujian in the CBA.

Hongshih Shan will join Fubon as he is coming home to play in the SBL for good after spending five seasons in China.

It seems that California native Taiwanese - American TJ Burke, younger brother of the women's NT Joy Burke, is open to the possibility of playing in the SBL next season. Sources have it, with Fubon.

Is he eligible to play as a local? Or would he have to be an import?

6'9 with D1 skill would be a huge boon to the national team!

I'm told by a forumer on roundball that Burke's case of eligibility is similar with Joseph Lin, where he is recognized as a bonafide Taiwanese player.

With the acquisition of prized veterans like Tsai Wen-Tseng and the bubbling trade for Chang Tsung-Hsien, looks like Fubon is on a WIN NOW mode.

8 Taiwan players in the CBA this season:

Lee Hsueh-Lin - Foshan
Chen Shijie - Fujian
Hu Long-Mao - Fujian
Lin Chih-Chieh - Zhejiang Guangsha
Liu Cheng - Zhejiang Guangsha
Tseng Wen-Ting - Shanghai
Tien Lei - Tian Jin
Beijing - Yang Chin-Min

Dacin will sign former Sacramento Kings / Reno Big Horns center Sim Bhullar to a contract.

OMG!!!! SIM IS COMING?!?!?!?!?

He'll be HUGE in this league!!

I look forward in seeing him play in a level where it is far below that of the Reno Big-Horns and the D-League. Still, Liam McMorrow probably is the best Canadian player to have played in the SBL.

Fubon is really stacked and pre-season hype have them as the top contenders: Joe Lin, TJ Burke, Tsai Wen-Tseng, Hong Shih-Shan, Chang Tsung-Hsien, Song Yu-Hsuan and Chang Bowei.

Too bad they just missed out that signing of Hamady N'Diaye, who played in the Jones Cup this year with Mighty Sports Philippines. N'Diaye chose to sign with Unicaja Malaga. Canadian Liam McMorrow is said to be flying in for a contract.

Caught up with a couple of games by Pure Youth during the FIBACC. The dynasty will have trouble closing games this season as Tsai Wen-Cheng is gone but there's glimmer of hope as Douglas Creighton looked better in the pre-season, often hustling and defending like never before. This team needs young talent to develop ASAP.

Saw the first game of Fubon vs Dacin and being the super team that Fubon is, chemistry and execution is still a work in progress for them. Lots of broken plays and isolation ball but they won through talent and Dacin melting down on offense.

For Dacin, Sim Bhullar was in foul trouble early in the second quarter while Chou Yi-Hsiang looked so frustrated at times. Good game for Lu Chih-Er, able to beat his defender through hesitation and score.
