Tyreke Evans is listed as day to day with a sprained left foot. There is a good chance that Evans will play tomorrow night against the visiting Boston Celtics.

We play the Celtics tonight at 7:00 p.m. pacific time. Excited for the match and I hope we beat another play-off team! :D

The Sacramento Kings routing the Boston Celtics last night, 120-95. Marcus Thornton scored a season high 36 points to lead the team. Isaiah Thomas finished with 13 points and 10 assists. Jason Thompson continued his strong play with 21 points and 15 rebounds. Demarcus Cousins finished with 20 points.

The Sacramento Kings routing the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves 115-99. Marcus Thornton lead five other Kings in double figure scoring with 24 points.

Two solid, blow-out victories in our favor. These are two, play-off worthy squads as well, not some bottom-feeders. ANd now our home-stand record is 4-3 and could possibly become 6-3 if we winn our final two matches (against the Memphis Grizzlies and the Utah Jazz). Glad to see our Kings on a two-game winning streak. :)

Up next for the Sacramento Kings is the Memphis Grizzlies who will be in town.

Seems like last summer's trade was worth nothing. We basically gave up a future first round pick...

Although, this seems to be the only bad news as of late, which is a good thing. :D

Our Pacific Division rivals, the Golden State Warriors will sign JJ Hickson once the latter clears waivers.

The Sacramento Kings winning their third consecutive game with a 119-110 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. Marcus Thornton scored 31 points while Demarcus Cousins added 23 points. Isaiah Thomas with 18 points.

Tyreke Evans contributed 13 points off the bench.

The Sacramento Kings will sign Terrence Williams, to a 10 day contract. Williams was recently waived by the Houston Rockets.

Great game yesterday. Very fun to watch, it felt like the Grizzlies never even lead in the game. And Demarcus Cousins is just a beast. Once he can get out of his horrid habit of fouling a lot (and a lot of bad fouls as well), then he will be so great. Marcus showed us, once again, he can shoot the lights out. And Isaiah Thomas probably should have had a double-double with points and assists had his teammates not screwed up some open and easy layups... Tyreke did very nice as well, and I was happy to hear he didn't want to mess up the flow of the team by starting again right away and instead decided he wanted to start off on the bench.

And is it just me, or has Jimmer received very limited amount of playing time? He did well up until Smart began using him sparingly... Wish he could get more time. As for the addition of Terrence Williams, I have always liked him and I think he will play well and receive an extended contract from Geoff Petrie.

Terrence Williams will wear #55 for the Kings. Williams was selected 11th overall in the 2009 draft by the New Jersey Nets.

Terrence Ready to Fit In With Kings

Get to know more about Sacramento’s newest addition. Plus, take a look at the impressive stats the Kings have racked up during their three-game win streak and more.

The Kings announced on Wednesday the signing of third-year veteran Terrence Williams to a 10-day contract. The 6-foot-6 guard-forward previously spent time with the Houston Rockets and was selected 11th overall by the New Jersey Nets in the 2009 NBA Draft.

Williams, who was in attendance for Sacramento’s 119-110 home victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night, says he’s thrilled to be in Northern California and thinks he’ll fit perfectly into Kings Coach Keith Smart’s up-tempo, running system.

“It’s a great opportunity,” said Williams after his first practice with the Kings. “In this type of offense, a three can bring the ball up and initiate the offense, and that’s what I’ve been around with New Jersey and Houston with Rick Adelman. I think it helps because every position is interchangeable.”

Smart is equally excited to bring in the former lottery pick, who will be wearing No. 55 for the Kings.

“The guy has a skill level that is pretty much off the charts. The guy can flat out play,” the Kings Coach said.

Kings guard Marcus Thornton is also very impressed with what Williams can bring to the team.

“He’s another person who can get out and run. He’s very athletic, (and) he can get out and finish plays,” No. 23 said. “He’s an underrated defensive player, too. He gets out there and uses his quickness and size to his advantage.

“That was a good pickup for us. T-Will is going to be great here.”

Along with his athleticism and quickness, it doesn’t hurt that Williams is friends with most of the players on the Kings current roster. Williams is a Washington native, like rookie Isaiah Thomas, and is a former Louisville Cardinal along with Francisco Garcia. Chuck Hayes was a teammate of Williams while he was in Houston and Tyreke Evans and Thornton are also familiar with Williams as the trio worked out together in preparation for the 2009 NBA Draft.

“It’s a group of young guys who have improved with every practice and every game so I just want to be a part of it,” Williams said.

While he thinks Sacramento’s new addition will be a solid contributor, Smart still needs time to work with the 24-year-old before defining his role.

“He’s not going to come in here right away and take minutes from our guys. I need to know the person, see how he works, what his mindset is and just get to know him first before I can say this is what I want from you as a basketball player,” Smart said. “I just want to see him function with our group and how he is interacting with our group.”

“It’s not me coming here trying to take anybody’s spot or anybody’s minutes,” Williams said. “If I (can) fit in for five minutes a game, then that’s (how) I’ll fit in – I’m still going to cheer, I’ve always been a professional and cheered my teammates on.”

I think Williams will behave and be a good swingman pickup for the Kings. He is more athletic than Garcia and Salmons.

The recent upswing has sacrificed a few lotto balls though so i am not sure if this is good for a mediocre team (especially with the fact that they are saying it is going to be a good draft this year)

Then again, with Sacramento this is always an issue by the end of the season.

In the rebuilding phase, NBA teams must make progress. Wins here and there are not bad. Teams who rebuild must slowly deviate from the high lottery chances through each season. Mediocre teams must aim to shed the label of mediocrity eventually. Even if it means compromising in the lottery.

True true at some point you have to fight yes... Though if you're the GM you'd really want those extra lottery balls-- not necessarily to add those young guys to your already very young core but maybe as trade bait.

In our case, it is not so favorable. We traded the rights to our (protected) 2012 draft pick to the Cleveland Cavaliers during the Omri Casspi - JJ Hickson swap. The stipulation: Cavs have the right to our Protected 1-to-14 in 2012 or 1-to-13 in 2013 or 1-to-12 in 2014 and 1-to-10 from 2015-2017.

So we really have nothing to aim for atleast this 2012 in the draft. Since our players have either low trade value or are branded as high risk-low reward yield, not much can be done through the offseason either. Besides, quality free agents would rather seek big market pastures from the said teams.

Since Isaiah Thomas Jr. started for the Kings, the team ranks in the NBA in

Kings rank 1st in NBA in Fastbreak Pts/Gm.
Kings rank 1st in NBA in Possessions/Gm.
Kings rank 2nd in NBA in Pts/Gm.
Kings rank 2nd in NBA in Pts in Paint/Gm

Thomas is quite the steal.

Nice fin there CKR13. Very interesting stats. Shows just how underrated Thomas was coming into the draft.

Up next, we take on the Utah jazz at Power Balance Pavilion. I predict a rather easy win here, seeing as we defeated them last time out at home. lus, it looks like we have momentum on our side after our last three, blow-out victories. Pretty confient heading into today's game.
