Yeah, surprised to see the Kings give up that many points to the Bulls. Though as you mentioned i shouldn't be. Generally, which is worse for the Kings, post or perimeter defense?

Post defense in an overwhelming gap to the perimeter defense. Last season, we had Samuel Dalembert and that helped a lot. Now, we don't have the shot-blocking or one-on-one post defender in Dalembert. Cousins, Thompson or any other could not fill what Dalembert has left.

Our perimeter defense is still the same from last year; being susceptible to for easy cuts and open looks. Our players still has not learned to communicate effectively in defense.

Then there is the transition defense, we give up the most points on the break of all NBA teams.

Great info! i might just start pounding on the Over for Sac kings with that in mind :D

After the Feb. 9, 2012 game against the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder that was televised nationwide, we have somewhat a nationwide game against Jeremy Lin and the surging New York Knicks. Biggest game since the Black Out Thursday against the Thunder.

The most interesting match-up is Tyreke Evans against Jeremy Lin. Evans is bigger and just as quick, but do not count out Lin. This one is definitely a must watch.

Hype-up between the Sacramento Kings - New York Knicks game from the Sacramento Bee.

Kings plan: Tonight's game vs. New York

TONIGHT'S GAME
Kings (10-18) at Knicks (14-15)

THREE KEYS

• 1. Watch the lane: The Kings need to keep Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin out of the paint and force him to take jump shots and create without breaking down the defense off the dribble.

• 2. Stay aware: Tyson Chandler and Amar'e Stoudemire will look for easy baskets on pick-and-rolls. The Kings must play physically and not allow either an easy path to the rim.

• 3. Backcourt production: During their six-game winning streak, the Knicks have given up some big scoring nights to opposing guards. Tyreke Evans and Marcus Thornton have to play well to give the Kings a chance to win.

The Sacramento Kings losing in the madison square garden against the New York Knicks 100-85. Tyreke Evans lead the Kings with 19 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and two steals. The Kings have lost three straight.

A pretty good game against the best NBA team in Chicago, where we lost by such a slim margin. We fought back after being down by double digits, as usual. :D After that, we performed pretty bad in Madison Square Garden losing by a lot... Hope we can improve our play for next game and contain the opposing team's star (yesterday it was Jeremy Lin). There won't be any one important player to stop next game as we are playing the Detroit Pistons, but we will have to focus on stopping Detroit's inside game. We shouldn't have a problem there as long as Demarcus Cousins and Jason Thompson play their usual games. We are now 10-19, pretty bad but we have some easy games coming up so we can hopefully improve our poor record...

Up next for the Sacramento Kings is the Detroit Pistons. Their third game in a six game eastern conference road trip.

The Sacramento Kings losing to the Detroit Pistons 114-108. Demarcus Cousins lead the Kings with 26 points and 15 rebounds. Marcus Thornton added 23 points.

In the game, head coach Keith Smart started three guards in Thomas, Thornton and Evans.

The Kings have lost four straight games.

Up next for the Sacramento Kings is the Cleveland Cavaliers lead by impressive rookie, Kyrie Irving. The Kings travel to Cleveland in hopes for a much needed win and breaking their four game slump. What awaits the Kings is an old friend in Omri Casspi.

JJ Hickson will meet his old team as well.

The Sacramento Kings dropping their fifth consecutive game with a close lost against the Cleveland Cavaliers, 93-92. The Kings managed to claw back from a 10 point deficit early in the fourth quarter and took the lead after a back and forth stretch that saw six lead changes.

Cousins made a two point shot with an assists from Thomas to put the Kings at the lead 92-91 with 0:02 remaining. Cleveland called a timeout and in the ensuring play, Evans fouled Kyrie Irving in the succeeding play. Irving converts two foul shots to seal the Cavaliers' win.

In the losing effort, Thomas with 23 points, 11 assists and 8 rebounds. Marcus Thornton had 23 points while Demarcus Cousins chipped in with 19 points and 9 rebounds.

Wow, yet another loss.... That is five games in a row that we haven't been on the winning end of the game. Pretty frustrating, but this is a young team and most of the time close games for us will end up as a loss. It looks like we will have a six game losing streak as we play Miami next, but we could defeat the Wizards, who we play after the Heat. After that, the All-Star Weekend will take place (Demarcus Cousins play in the Rising Stars Challenge) and we will begin to play most of our games in Sacramento, which will help a lot for us. We will have a 10 game home stand in March!!! Believe it or not...

As much as possible, I hate to cite "youth" as an excuse for all these losses due to the team's inconsistencies, though they are an attribute to the youth factor as well. Then there is the defense that gives an opponent a +15 scoring night when we play them.

Lastly, our system in Keith Smart have our offense fine tuned though for a hefty price: a quick hitting offense does compromise defense.

Smart has been starting Evans as a small forward with Thomas and Thornton in the back-court. Another period of adjustment for Evans.

Up next for the Sacramento Kings are the blazing Miami HEAT. The Kings are taking their talents to South Beach with a five game losing streak and are win less in the scheduled six game road trip.

While for the HEAT, they have been streaking. Odds are extremely against the Sacramento Kings.

I do feel that Isaiah Thomas Jr. was snubbed in the NBA All-Star Weekends' BVBA Rising Star Challenge. I think Thomas would have been a better selection compared to Miami HEAT's rookie, Norris Cole.

I can understand Jimmer Fredette not being part of it as Jimmermania is now quite forgotten due to Linsanity and other things.

JJ Hickson would not mind returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the off-season where he will be a unrestricted free agent.

JJ Hickson finds being with Kings a royal disappointment: Cavaliers Insider

Hickson was not given a contract extension by the Kings. He finds himself as a bench player with Keith Smart opting for Jason Thompson as the starting forward. Most likely, Hickson and the franchise will be parting ways in the coming trade deadline or in the off-season.

The Sacramento Kings falling to the Miami HEAT 120-108. Tryeke Evans lead the Kings with 21 points, 10 assists and 7 rebounds. Marcus Thornton with 23 points and Isaiah Thomas Jr. added 24 points and 5 assists.

Sacramento has dropped six consecutive games.

The Sacramento Kings breaking their six game losing streak with a 115-107 win against the Washington Wizards. Tyreke Evans and Marcus Thornton both co-top scored for the Kings with 22 points each. Demarcus Cousins with a double double of 16 points and 16 rebounds.

Rookie Isaiah Thomas Jr. netted 16 points while Jason Thompson managed 9 points and 11 rebounds. Francisco Garcia scored 12 points off the bench.

The Kings went 1-5 in their six game road trip.
