The Sacramento Kings will be staying in Sacramento for atleast one more season.
first LA did have a point guard when the won their titles, his name is Kobe Bryant, you might have probally heard of him, some even say he is really good you know
Second if J-will is a mediocre point for you I guess we can stop this argument right here. L:ike I said befor you are you of those peopel who based their opinion of how good a pg is mainly based on whether that player can score 20 poins a game even if he needs 40 shots to do it.
and 3rd, when Bsoton won their title not only was Rondo their was and most consitent player but also was already arguably a top 3-5 pg in the league.
And Rondo WAS NOT considered a top 3-5 PG by anybody outside of Boston when they won their title. Not to say that stats mean everything, but c'mon, he was like 10.6 ppg and 5.1 apg... and he wasn't even scoring all that efficiently (needing 9+ shots to get those points)... You can't seriously have put him in the same class as Nash, CP3, D-Will, etc at that time. And don't forget that back in 07-08, Kidd, Parker, Andre Miller, B-Davis and all those guys were still playing at very high levels too.
"I guess Casspi was happy that the team played better and was winning more games, but he was frustrated that his playing time had really diminished from what it had been two thirds of the season.
"We did have a discussion, which usually comes up with some players, about maybe it's better if I play somewhere else. But a lot of that gets borne out of frustration. I think he still has a chance to be a pretty valuable contributor because there are some things he does really well."
"But, again, there are areas of his game he needs to continue to work on to become more well-rounded in terms of the things he can do out there. He's a competitive guy, he's got a lot of pride, and we just left it at that."
Lakers' Jackson apologizes to Maloof family
But Jackson was no sincere as Jackson said that he was just forced to issue a written letter of apology after being fined and was pressured by the Lakers organization.
well in my books that is being sincere He said it upfront that he was force to give the apology and that he didn't mean what teh letter said, LOL
hey ckr, talking more seriously are you that girl who always post in that sacramneto blog???
coolYes that's me. I'm a regular on the Sacramento blog. I'm even a moderator on a forum dedicated to the Sacramento Kings forum.
Jermaine Taylor Ready for Battle: The Sacramento Kings' season just ended several weeks ago, but that hasn't stopped Jermaine Taylor from thinking about next year. The guard is already working out in Miami and he's determined to show the coaching staff in Sacramento what he can do in his first full season with the team.
Because Taylor was acquired by the Kings last December, the transition was much more difficult for the second-year player. Roles had already been assigned and it was hard for him to showcase his abilities mid-season as he adjusted to the first trade of his career. Now, he's looking forward to starting next season with a fresh slate and putting his abilities on display.
"It was tough for me when I first got to Sacramento because the coach didn't really know much about my game and there weren't many practices during that part of the season," Taylor told HOOPSWORLD. "He never really got to see what I could do. There were some practices, but there weren't a lot, which made it difficult."
When Taylor did receive minutes, he was one of the team's most productive players. He earned a spot in the starting lineup after Tyreke Evans was injured and during that stretch, Taylor was excellent. He averaged 13 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists while shooting over 50% from the field. Against the Orlando Magic in February, he scored 21 points in two quarters and propelled the Kings to victory.
He turned heads around the league, proving himself until the Kings traded for Marcus Thornton. His minutes gradually decreased and by the end of the season, he wasn't playing at all.
"When I started playing, I think I showed what I could do, but then guys got healthy and Marcus got there so I went back to the bench," Taylor said. "It was even more frustrating moving into the lineup, getting some minutes and then having to move back to the bench. That's why I'm working out now. That's been my motivation.
"I thought I did well when I was playing and I think I proved that I belong in this league. Now, I just have to make other people see that and show that if I get the opportunity to play, I'll produce. I'll put up those kinds of numbers again and the more I play, the better I'll get."
The 24-year-old is known as a slasher, but he'll enter next season with an improved jumper. Taylor has been putting up 500 shots each day and he'll work with a shooting coach later this summer. He's currently performing shooting drills to expand his range and gain confidence from the field.
"I've been doing a lot of shooting," Taylor said. "I'm trying to get my shot ready for the season, whenever that may be. I try to make 20 shots from seven different spots on the floor and keep going until I clear each spot."
He's already working hard to expand his game because he's determined to battle for more minutes during training camp. He's not sure how the minutes will be distributed next season, but he's doing everything in his power to prove he can keep up with his peers and show that he deserves to crack the rotation.
"When you look at the Kings' roster, I'm not sure if I'll be in the plans just because of how many players we have at my position," Taylor said. "When it comes down to it, I just want to play and hopefully I get that opportunity. When I show up at training camp, I'll be ready and I'll prove myself."
"No matter what happens, they'll know that I'm focused and that I worked hard all summer for this opportunity."
Well, the Kings won't get in this year because the West is just too damn hard.
Maloof Meets with Mayor Johnson, Woos Kings Fans
SACRAMENTO—
The fence-mending for the Sacramento Kings has begun. Team Co-owner, Gavin Maloof spent part of Thursday on the phone trying to encourage season ticket holders to renew for the upcoming season. "It's been tremendous," exclaimed Maloof when asked about the number of season ticket plans that have been sold. "We have some really good momentum right now and our fans are the best."
The organization also is benefitting from the presence of a nine member team here in Sacramento from the NBA to assist with sales and marketing. Most franchises rolled out their campaigns for the 2011-12 season back in February so the Kings timeline for success is now critical. "This is sort of like a rebirth," explained Christopher Granger with the NBA. "There is an expansion-type outpouring interest in the team right now. Given all that demand we are glad to be here to lend a hand."
Granger and Maloof joined Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson Thursday afternoon for a downtown luncheon for the origional sponsors of the Kings. The meeting was more than just thanking them and asking for their continued support. "We wanted to let them know that the product this year on the court was going to be better," said Maloof. "We have money to spend and were going to spend it. We have the most salary cap space in the league. We want to win so were going to spend it."
as they say, relationships takes time to mend. No use pretending that infidelity never happened.
Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson will represent the Sacramento Kings in the annual NBA Draft Lottery slated in May 17, 2011.
reallyI thought Johnson wasn't on speaking terms with the Maloof brothers.
