Sacramento Kings Thread

Cold shooting debut for Bogdanovic: 5/15 FG as his rhythm is not there and at times, our offense was every man for himself. That non-existent defense in the first quarter had us playing into the PHX Suns tempo game and it was simply not ideal for Joerger's grindhouse play. I can't fault Temple for taking that pull-up shot that missed, he was shooting quite well in the game, though it would have tied it.

This is gonna be long season, Sacramento could beat 17 win season from 2008, everyone can agree that Buddy Hield is worst starting SG in the west, except maybe Austin Rivers is worse

De'Aaron Fox was owned big time. This is the first time I've seen a rookie get mauled by their veteran opposition. Rookies like Lonzo Ball and Tatum was able to hold their own against stars.

Mason scored a lot of garbage points.

We need Hill back to stabilize the offense. I miss Darren Collison now.

Pretty much what I expected from Fox. Tatum and Ball are both advanced rookies for these days but Fox is more of a typical one and done. I've always seen him as a John Wall type.

I don't get how you can say a guy who averages double-digit scoring per game on a team with two ballhog "point guards" playing major minutes the worst starting shooting guard in the West, PeraCar. I mean granted the West is stacked at two guard right now but Hield is far from bad.

i didnt say he is bad, its just that he isnt good enough to be starting SG, in every other team in the west he would be backup SG at best, we will see this season, i bet Bogdanovic will push him to the bench

well he played against Wall and Beal, you cant blame the kid

We......Won??? WTF happened to the Thunder? Offense just seem to fizzle and have a meltdown. It even allowed us to comeback from a 15point deficit after starting the game shooting 3/20.

I've felt this whole time that having two inefficient volume scorers like Melo and PG would make life difficult for OKC, not to mention missing the passing of Enes Kanter.

Game was horrible to watch for both teams. For OKC, they don't have the fluidity nor continuity in their uptempo offense. When the ball gets defered to George or Melo, the flow just halts as Melo has this tendency to shred precious seconds when it comes to his triple-threat game and a number of jab steps. George will 70% shoot it. Offense looked better last season.

I was more impressed with Garrett Temple. Covington was all over him when he drilled that shot to make it a one point game.

Bogdanovic's playmaking helped out a lot in the game vs the Lakers. Cauley-Stein off the bench contained him and levels his focus on his strenghts: ad-hoc movement within the offense whereas extended minutes as a starter often got him lost in the shuffle.

Bogdanovic has been superb for us, in his first full-month in his NBA career. He can score in clutch situations, able to facilitate our offense with plays and I just noticed his potent wingspan where he can ball-hawk over a guard to cover and poke away at stab dribbles.

I love watching him play alongside Hill, Randolph, Cauley-Stein and Temple.

Bogdan is a student of this game, great IQ, does so many things very well. He has improved his game each of the last 5 seasons tremendously, really dedicated to his craft. Most complete European shooting guard.
I'm impressed with his defense, his lateral speed improved a lot. Great understanding of defensive movements and an excellent wingspan that helps him to disrupt passing lanes and deflect balls already make him a good defender at NBA level.
Offense is as good as advertised with his ability to facilitate and find teammates in their best spots, just needs to get his groove back from the three point land.

This is why I've been following Jakarr Sampson since his grind days in the D-League and time with the Sixers. We really need his defense and rebounding given our lackluster quarters. Him and Bogdanovic with Temple in rotation would help us close the gaps. We're crowded in the SF / SG though.

What's really a shame is the fact that JaKarr was basically becoming Jonathon Simmons before Jonathon Simmons before the Sixers brought in bum ass point guards and ruined his career. Watch some of his highlights from '14-15. He was starting to look like a 6'9" Tony Wroten and was flat out physically unstoppable with a head of steam.

I really cringe when Frank Mason holds on to the ball, puts on unnecessary dribbling without even calling up a screen! Who the hell does a spin move beyond the three and then runs to a mistimed screen to run into a wall of defenders!?

Most of these overrated "point guards" these days lol. Anybody who thought that kid was better than Josh Hart last year had a screw loose. Hell, look at how much better his Kansas teammates are this year. But that's how it is with these kids who have only played on teams where they got to dominate the ball and never had to play defense.

Currently, McConnell is having a field day against Fox and Mason.
