2008 FIBA AMERICAS U18 CHAMPIONSHIP
TBD • Mar del Plata, Argentina

Selection Process: The USA Basketball Men's Collegiate Committee will invite approximately 35 athletes,
18-years-old or younger (born on or after 1/1/90), to the USA U18 National Team Trials.

Assuming USA Basketball applies FIBA regulations, then U-18 means 18 yrs old and under/younger. So, if the tournament is in 2008, the player should be born on or after 01 Jan 1990.

haha look at this player and when he born "Hayk Gyokchyan 1/1/1990" so he can play.

So Nico Salva and Ryan Buenafe are both born in the year 1989, right?

They withdrew from the youth team to focus on their stint with the blue eagles.:)

Los Angeles, CA – Hooptown International Youth Basketball will host Goodwill Basketball Games against the Nokia-Pilipinas (R.P.) Youth Basketball National Team on March 22 and 29, 2008 at Salesian High School in Boyle Heights, California.Preliminary Games will start at 3pm and 4:30pm; the main event will start at 6:00pm.

Any news of the 1st game results between the RP Youth Team & the Hooptown International Youth Team? This was supposed to have occured yesterday (Manila time).

hooptown vs Rp youth

hooptown vs Rp youth

this whole rp youth team is so political. It will be difficult to recruit Fil Ams if the Coaches are Full of BS. Hooptown is not one of the best team AAU ( travel team )in the US. I saw the RP team ( 18U) here in the US. They are pretty tall for Filipinos but they need to bulk up. they need to start lifting weights and probably eat a little more. Hopefully coach Pumaren can recruit a true center. Coaches also need to go to Coaching Clinics to be able tolearn more and hopefullly compete internationally. The RP team needs to observe other US travel team instead of Hoopstown to learn.

Good Luck to Japeth Aquilar - Western Kentucky doing a good job in NCAA tournament.

Keep an eye on this Fil Am . He is a guard. I believe he will be attending Post Grad next year. I saw him in one of the games here in the US. He lead his HS team in a very tough League. Articles were writtem about him in the San Fernando Valley paper ( Daily News) during the basketball season.

Speaking of ABS-CBN, former FEU-FERN stalwart Jonas Paguia has entered the Big Brother House.

Are they sure that they'll play for AdMU   :p

Off course, I would love to see Nico Salva stay at San Beda. But it is almost a done deal they will go somewhere else. Ryan Buenafe and Nico Salva are the best high school players today. It is just unfortunate that they skipped the youth team.:(

Jerramy King G 5-11 155 SR He is too short!! We need players that are 6'3 and over to be guards and 6'9 and over for posts.... 5'11 is too small! he may be quick but small!!

I don't know their exact ages but they were originally selected to be part of the youth NT late last year and withdrew themselves from the youth NT this past january.

Who won on this exhibition game?
Is there another game on the 29 of April?:

Is the next game March 29?
