I guess the last foul by Ribas was trying to tank ;) Nice game by him anyway.

Tough game for a terrible Spain as expected, and i'm sure our tournament will end in the next round, i don't think they can compete with the best on a 100% effort game in a few hours. We'll have to organize an Pre-Olympic tournament if we want to attend to Rio.

It'll be, very probably, against Poland. Do you really think Spain is not gonna make it?

I think the last two eurobaskets gave both Spain and France a time to boost their shape in the 2nd round, now when it's directly into the playoffs... I think switching to some higher level of play within 3 days only, isn't all that easy.

Spaniards would've been rightfully pissed if this game had went to OT (foul called on Ribas). Spaniards had a very narrow escape. Usually teams with such pedigree in such cases switch to overdrive mode and you see them in finals, but I feel it's not the case with this Spanish team. Except for blowing out of Turkey, they really showed next to nothing in this Euro. They will be the ones to benefit most from the break until 1/8, bit it is questionable whether they will get their heads straight.

Good attitude of Germany. In another group they would be in playoff for sure. Spain's last quarter has been disappointing as their performance during all tournament. I don't think they are losing to Poland, but to get a medal they must improve a lot.

Damn!!!! We just watched the last game of Dirk with his national team. Best European player ever it is a shame that finished like that.

Best european player ever i think has the name of Arvydas Sabonis

A matter of preference. Anyhow there has been a lot of like discussions on this forum on that, no need to generate new heat.

No in term of numbers. 7th scorer all time in the NBA. Even if Sabonis was the same number of years in the NBA I don't think he could beat that. Anyway I am a very big fun of Arvidas.

Justice after all. Spain did not deserve to have the game into OT with such a clamorous mistake by the referee.

What mistake? If anything refs helped Spain by not calling the obvious unsportsmanship foul on Schroeder by Ribas when he held his jersey.I'd take an unsportsmanship on 5 seconds left over 3 free throws.

There are thousands of fouls like that, and never unspotsmanship. Why do you think this one is special?

dude it was a textbook unsportsmanship..he was behind him and held his jersey.I hate how Fiba refs are so reluctant to call unsportsmanships on cases like this or when teams commit those called "smart" fouls to stop a fast break..

we might argue about that since he was born under USSR, so outside Europe... he played the second half of his career as european :o

you're right.. basketballwise they always played EC, it's fair to list Arvydas as European talent
