If Italy win Germany then the 4th spot will be played in the last game between Germany and Spain..Why not an upset??
 
It's safe to say that individually wise the Italian team is proably the most talented in Europe.Today all of their stars simply outshined a Spanish squad in decline,at least when you compare them to previous Spanish NT.
I think this was the most exciting game for the neutrals.Amazing offensive display.
Italy at some point were playing with the 3pt sliders all the way up to 100 :P.
Congratulations Italy!!!
 
Spain tanked but we can't deny the Belinelli effect. Italians deserved. So for us, we have to win against Serbia otherwise we will get 4th spot unless Germans and Serbs win over Italy. So just win tomorrow's game.

and the worst thing here is, most of the guys shitting about tanking are now pissed on Spain because they wanted their team to tank some of the following games.

What if Italy wins against Germany and losses to Serbia and Turkey losses to Serbia and wins against Iceland?

Spain didnt gave the game away. This is just Spain at group stages . In knockout games when it matter they will turn it up a couple of notches . Also Italy had a nice offensive day and in a good day Italy can win almost everyone
 
OK, I concede it was not a tank since 4th place is disastrous for ESP. They do not want to face FRA. :o

For me they tanked. Because there are huge huge differences between the effort that they put in Turkey's game and Italy's game. Italy would win this even if they wouldn't tank. This is my prediction, maybe they didn't tank. I don't want to disrespect Italian effort.
 
Lol Italy obviously didnt tank.Like it's been already mentioned here Italy can win ANYONE on their day.And today was one of those days :P
Their FG % was simply outstanding
 
It's a joke some of you think Spain tanked the game. Spain keeps thinking they're into their golden era, and preparing the tournaments like the old times with no effort, and not giving 100%. But the team is not the same, most of the key players are on the physical decline and it shows a bit more each tournament, and if you're not 100% physically and not 100% focused this can happen, basically it ends happening to all great teams. I can see this team not advancing the group stage.
 
I also do not think that Spain would tank.They don't need it.And for what?To avoid Greece and play Lithuania?The performaces so far may justify such a thought,but experience shows that things are quite different in the knockout stages.Also,something like this is really disrespectful to us and to the Lithuanians.

After this result,the opponent that we'll play in the QFs will probably be decided in the ITA vs SRB game.

As for Italy,could it be that Datome's injury helped your team in the end?Could it be that it left more shots for Gallo and Belinelli?
 
As if it would be something unussual for Belinelli and Galinari bursting off. Spain had their momentum vs. Turkey obviously, I haven't watched that game to make a comment on it, however that's 2nd game now I've seen they haven't shown anything in particular special, apart from individual quality they have. A defensively capable team as Serbia actualy got them to score bulk of their points in 3-4 periods, first in 5 minutes when they scored 20, than some other minor 2-3 minutes runs and than through Gasol, when he scored 10 in a row in 3-4 minutes. Sorry, but if this was tanking how should we be calling what Spain has been doing offensively vs. Serbia?

What Belinelli has shown today, as well as Galinari is plain impossible to guard. Congrats Italy, one of the most jaw dropping offensive performances in the last few years.
 
Nice to see Italy strong and competitive again. They were simply amazing today. And Spain didn't tank, they wanted to win but they couldn't just stop the magnificent Belinelli. There's no physical way to stop a player of that caliber who's on fire.

Can't wait to see the rest of the matches of this super interesting group!
