Turkish players watched the Spanish show like fans today. After a great performance against Italy, that was something unexpected from my side. They even didn't put effort on floor so we can expect Turkey have targeted this game and will perform according to this. Germany had two tough games and they will also do everything in this do or die game. So hard to call, maybe 50-50.

Clearly, this game is the most important one for us to state the group position. If we win this one, we can almost secure the third position unless there will be weird things in the group. Germany tries to find their possible leader after Dirk's retirement. Schroeder come into prominence before anyone else in team and he has performed well until now in tournament. Dirk shares the leadership with him and maybe raise him under his tutorship. Actually, I have been not impressed by Schroeder during his NBA period this season since he tends to make a lot of easy mistakes but in this tournament, he has seemed more balanced to me than his NBA season. Maybe it is because of his role description here since Dirk slows him down, he is still playing his own game somehow. He is quite effective in isolation plays and plus created a lot of positions to his friends in two games. Against Turkey, he has a golden mine in his position. He can strike to his heart's content against Dixon. He never show mercy against slow guards and when we think Dixon's slow first step and way of understanding from defense, it won't be so hard for Schroeder to pass him out. Dixon struggles against players who have high ball handling skills, so it will be better if Güler or even Osman can guard him somehow. We will simply commit a suicide if Dixon and his ironic smile guard him. If Güler takes the helm in defense, I don't worry about him so much. When he can't find the enough space in offense, he will make his natural turnovers. Also, it is better if he can forget Dirk in offense.

Erden will play at his sweet will. If he decides to play with full concentration, we can hold them up to a point. Pleiss avoids from toughness and Erden's job is to create enough toughness against him. Savaş is out in this game too. This is not his game. Erden and İlyasova should abstain from foul trouble to make us safe in painted area. When Aldemir comes to C, we will be extremely undersized under the rim. There is no way to defend Dirk's shots from post, therefore we should bother him with backing defense from Osman f.e. In one n one positions, always keep the distance close between Dirk's guard and helping player. That's the key. Also Psycho Schaffartzik's unexpected threes should be guarded well. Germany has really secret weapons. At least, they are well managed team and knowing the importance of getting position after PnRs. It is time for us to play our real defensive game and Germany is so fit for our game. They can't find the high tempo unless Schroeder goes coast to coast.

Key match ups will be Dixon vs Schroeder and Nowitzki vs İlyasova. This is the game that matters defense from Turkish side. As long as we will be doing well in defense, we are close to victorious.

Game of the day imo, I feel Germany will ride the home court to a close win.

Home court advantage for Germany? :D

I doubt if there will be more Germans than Turks.

Turkey will win

The winner will see Semi Final

Game depends on which Turkish side shows up. Will Dirk have a game that reminds us of what a special player he is. Whoever loses puts themselves at real risk of not advancing so this should be a real dogfight. Should be entertaining. Hopefully my man Pleiss will have a good game.

Germany is a team which never gives up.
We are a team which we find our rhythm from our defence. As long as we defend good, we will find a way to score some points. If we can limit offensive rebounds of Germany and keep them under 70 points we have a chance to win.
IMO key points for today's game is how much we limit Dirk and any other player contribute on Germany's side other than Schroeder, Dirk and Pleiss. If we can keep the rest out of the game we will be in control of the game...

Both teams playing "home", it can go both ways, very hard to predict but I would say Turkey by 2-3... Only because they look different on this championship. ..

The support of expat Turks in Berlin is disappointment until now. Yeah we have enough fans to create the necessary atmosphere but I remember some football games in Berlin against Germany where the stadium was full of Turks and even German newspapers questioned whether they should keep tickets for German fans or not because they are playing like in away game in their home court and that kind of atmosphere was a disgrace for German NT. We haven't received the full support yet. I hope they will come and support the NT a little bit more.

TUR is much better team and should win this. Already 9-0 start. Surprised at how many people voted for GER in prediction game. I think the TUR-ESP score was deceptive. TUR were saving themselves for the important match today.

No Pleiss, no dice for GER. Pleiss out with 2 quick fouls.

Not a good start by Germany, iirc it's not the best way to go letting Turkey explode in the early minutes historicaly

Schroeder playing bad and Turkey gained the confidence and are carried by their plays. It'll be very hard for Germany to come back from this one.

Disappointing performance by Germany thus far, they probably lost the game already in the first quarter. Too bad, I really hoped this will be the most interesting match today. Turkey is shooting insanely good, Erden is dominating under the rim. But let's see can Germany do better in second quarter.

Lead down to 14. If they get down below 10 by half time it will be a tough game. Now Turkey looks drunk :D

I hope this game won't be the example of "Start like a Turk, finish like a German".

Germany is just completely disfunctional in offense. Can't expect to have an easy 3 when Schroeder got shut down and you've got no inside game either. Flemming is the candidate for worst coach of this eurobasket along with the Czech coach and Bagaitskis.

And that disfunctionality is what makes this 17 points BIG. Germans might improve their shot in the second half, but relying on this on these kinds of tournaments... well, it's exactly what schemes are for, to decrease the chances for relying on emotions and coincidences, exactly such situations to occur.
