[Round 1 - Day 3 - Group D] Lithuania - Belgium

The final decision was wrong. He touched the ball exactly at 0:00,i am sure the referees waren't sure if this was correct decision given that they were looking at the replay for over 3 minutes. But Belgians deserve it more then us anyways to win this match. Belgians made 11 threes while Lithuania only made 1. Says it all.
 
The fact that Belgium made 11 threes and Lithuania 1 and Lithuania still kept up does not convince me that Belgium played a better game. Yes, Lithuania's 3 point shooting was unforgivable, however Belgium was lucky with some of their shots, it is clear they won't be shooting like that forever, neither will Lithuania. Referees were wrong, and Lithuania got robbed here, but it is too late to cry, now they just have to concentrate and win the last 2 games. A loss in the group stage is not the biggest problem if team learns from their mistakes after that.

We lose focus when we are ahead in double digits and we start to relax to much . That was against Ukraine and now Belgium. Completely our fault in this loss . Props to Belgians fighting till the end. Something that Lithuania needs to learn in this group stage. Next game is against Estonia. We need to destroy Estonia now and score as many points as possible giving that we don't know at all now how the group standings will end. The final game against Czechs will not be easy at all. We need to finish first..

It still doenst change the fact that belgian victory was decided by a bad referee mistake. It shouldnt have counted and the game should have went to OT.
 
My first impression after the reply in live broadcasting was that it wasn't a good shot. I though refs saw it better, but they basically only saw completely unsure shot which looks more like a late shot in reply. Why they couldn't give an overtime? Very sad when you think this way.

However, surely not refs made me pissed. Kazlauskas can blame Kalnietis, but overkeeping Lekavicius was completely on him and you can't blame anyone else for that. I still with Kazlauskas and will be till the end, but I have to admit so far he's nearly horrible making live game decisions. He completely lost control in the game against Ukraine (only luck saved us) and against Belgium his decisions also played a huge part to lose the game.

That you deserved this win more then us its a fact ;) We keep underestimating our opponents . But if the shot was to late then its needed to talk with FIBA.Cause Next time the referees will even let on the time outs for the players to shoot and will accepts points :D Lithuanian team just wanted to see the replay its not a protest or something. Again all of us would accept you were stronger congrats to Belgians.

2. The judges at very low levels, even when they can use the latest technology
3. A lot of questionable decisions. Are there investigations ,maybe the judges loved playing betting offices?
4. Why for coaches are not allowed to immediately view the video?
5. The judges mistakes is very expensive Lithuania, maybe even medals (eg. EC-2011 Lithuania - Macedonia has been credited Iljevski 3 points when other player in the penalty area was even 7 seconds !!!).

Again lets just congratulate Belgium, and keep quiet and not embarrass our selves even more. Even if we would have won its still unacceptable to play like this for us.

Stop that. Game is over. We can blame only ourself. If not our stupidity that shot wouldn't even happen.
Referies were low level, but only our ugly game led to it. Referies should be punished, but result shoudn't be changed.
 
To say that Lithuania deserved to loose just because referees almost certainly made a mistake is ridiculous. Did France deserve to loose because they had to play an OT against Finland?
 
Get over it! Nothing is lost, still a lot to play. Make up for it with better play and more effort in the tournament. Each team sooner or later will be on the wrong side of referees. Happens to everyone. You still are in good shape and have everything to play for. So keep your eyes on the prize. Or would you rather that this kind of shit happened in the knockout games.

Thanks. Much needed. I was thinking how not to be pissed about it and here's my solutions: reading a book, good way not to think about basketball (:)); thinking about this in a positive way. Lithuania instead of having a walk in the park is facing teams which provides very solid performances and that means we will be more ready for knock out stage. Now Liths should be hungry and really go after the prey.

Just kidding, what happened is really frustrating, I get that this is just a game where mistakes are made and all that, but really, why have the replays and the red boards and all that technology, if things like this happens? It would be less frustrating if they just flipped a coin :)

Anyway, I can't wish better luck next time since luck had nothing to do with it, so better effort must do it :)

i truly hope they will!!! hopefully this game will serve as a red alert and Lithuania gets everything together, because they are definitely stronger than both of those teams.
