I love when this two teams battle. Back then the hype was Takuya Kawamura vs. Bang Sung Yoon, Fumihiko Aono vs. Ha Seung Jin, Kim Seung-Hyun vs. Yuta Tabuse some years back.

Now there are no individual match-ups to be noted but this looks like it will be a good game.
 
I thought that coming into this tournament the Japanese had evolved as a team, at least to the point where they could seriously challenge the tournament favorites. But after seeing China destroy them in their last contest, it looks all but certain South Korea is moving forward and Japan for the 36th year won't be represented at the Olympics. Jarod Stevenson (a.k.a. Moon Tae-jong) will be virtually unguardable, and Korea's signature passing attack will be on full display. Unless Japan can play their best game of the tournament, I don't see them getting pass the Koreans, and it won't even be close.

i thought they were better than this as well. The Philippines game exposed them then the Chinese just feasted on them after being exposed.

Is there hope for this squad against this Korean team? i don't know but i am cheering for them.
 
to be honest the new face of Japn Nt is really the man :D

unlike the last time who looks like an old..you know it:cool:
 
japan will keep it close and will snatch the win at the stretch...

sorry man but this game is a toss up. After 2 losses japan will definitely regroup. When youre coming off a loss its either you lose your confidence or learn from it. The japanese wont go this far and just die. Expect them to make adjustments and give the koreans hell. Another factor is the Koreans wont have a healthy center. Thats one less matchup woe for the japanese. This will be a very interesting match. How they contain each others shooters will be a future reference for aspiring coaches and students of the game.
 
I think this one is going to be the fiercest of the 4 pairings. Japan after losing back-to-back is going to play well for sure.

But I am still picking Korea to win, +5.
 
this will probably be the most exciting game of the QF. both are 3-point shooting teams and their speed is equally the same. however, Korea will win this one because of their height and their big men is willing to engage in a physical game which the Takeuchi twins are not.

Korea will win by not less than 10 points.

You might have a point. Methinks Taipei falters as well against the Philippines in the 2nd half so this is the only one i am seeing to go "close" in the waning moments of the game.
 
hard to tell, but i think if ha is healthy korea has the advantage;)
