Russia didn't take advantage of the momentum gained with their performance in Group F. Tripkovic with an amazing display in 3-point range and Krstic won the matchup against Mozgov... Even with this loss, Russia had a positive performance in this EuroBasket.
I have to remember: the last time that Serbia went to the semi-finals, they were champions... Good news to the Serbians!;)

Just check official FIBA web site since when Serbia is member of FIBA and check for Croatia or any other former Yugoslav republic too

Also I am sure that all Tropheys ex Yugoslavia have won are still in Belgrade :D

Depends on from which angle you want to stress your point. Namely, the description can have different meanings if formulated in differentiating ways, i.e. ethnicity or federal republic of origin.
At leat two of the players you register under "Croatia" can be revised depending on what theory we use.

We are back on track.

And cut this shit about medals. We never will have a same opinion. But i will give one example. In tennis (davis cup) we had to play 1st against Russia in the 1st round and that in Russia, because old Yugoslavia the last time played at home. The same one year later against Spain. Serbs had the most influence in yugoslavian basketball. Take only a look at the coaches. The founder of BC Red Star Belgrad, Nebojsa Popovic was the 1st one who made the sport good and popular. After him there was Aleksander Nikolic. Perhaps the best coach ever seen in european basketball. After him we had Ranko Zeravica, Dusan Ivkovic and Bozidar Maljkovic. The only croatian coach that could join them is Mirko Novosel.

I never said that Serbia didn't have bigest influace, but Croatia wasn't far away especially when it comes to players. When it comes to coaches after Nikolic bigest influance on ex-Yugo basketball had Novosel and Zeravica. But you also forgething what influace had Kreso Cosic. he was the one who first lead 18 and 17 year old kids named Radja, Kukoc, Divac.. on big competitions. I agree that after 95. medals could be counted as Serbian, but medals before that wasn't just Serbian

as for tennis old Yugoslavia (here we can say Croatia) with Ivanisevic and Prpic:p

Good game Serbia i thought it was going to be closer than this. Young team, great future.

Aleksandar Nikolic made the fundamentals of yugoslavian basketball. European basketball is based on the yugoslavian basketbal school which is rooted in Belgrade. This is a fact. All those coaches mentioned learned from Nikolic including Ivkovic... Spain is one of the first teams to almost completely implement the ex yugoslavian style of play.... But those yugoslav medals cant just be erased thats the point.

Nikolic was great!!!! i remember him at Aris,at old age, when we had Tarpley.the guy was 80,and a master.I imagine him being younger, how much he must have offered... respect

I know who Nikolic is. And this medals will never be ersed, they are part of history, history of former Yugoslavia (Croatia, Serbia, B&H, Slovenia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo) not Serbia.

Kosovo? Name one player from Kosovo (Albanian, of course).
And,officially, YUG medals belong to Serbia now, because Serbia is recognized as successor of former YUG (succession includes FR Yugoslavia, then Serbia& Montenegro, then Serbia). This is legal, no matter what some people wishes. The law ( in this case- international) is still the law.

As for me, Yugo trophys should remain Yugo, the same goes for Soviet medals

It's kinda childish to seek the past glories by counting the players by ethnicity :p

Serbs, see you in the Eurobasket finals
