Brazil is the 2nd NT in Americas considering the end of an era for players like Scola, Prigioni, Ginobili, Nocioni and Oberto. So, why are you afraid??

Because the Qualifying tournament will be held in Argentina, and you should not expect Scola, Prigioni, Nocioni, Delfino to retire now, maybe even Oberto will try to play in London, they will be playing at home with an competitive team. So go USA!!

What a miraculous game. 8/8 from deep to start and the way they doubled and tripled Scola without leaving any space open for easy drop-offs was a joy to watch. Kemzura deserves a boatload of credit. You just can never figure out how this team is going to win each time out. I'm from the USA but if they should win, I'll root for LTU in the final.

Not even Lithuania knows how good Lithuania is.

Good luck, Lithuania. You deserve everything.

I'm sooooo happy for Lithuania!! ♪ Li ..thua...nia! ♪

I soooo love watching your fans cheering for your NT. :)

Scola was shut out in this game.

What a fitting way for us to be the bad guys to end the "Golden Generation" of Argentinian players. :p

Will they be able to be strong again in the future? Will mini Ricky Rubio be the new Luis Scola?

What surprised me a bit is that none of the Lithuanian contingent of fans was wearing one of the iconic slam dunking skeleton T-shirts.

Lithuanian T-Shirt Thread

Those t-shirts are getting a bit old now as mine is losing a bit of colour and stuff so I think the new "LIETUVA" shirts are more fitting these days with this new generation of players.

They look like they are playing on combination of viagra-cocaine-marijuana and all that other shit. Simply impressive. Posted By ecay

I think this sentence is perfectly suitable for yesterday's match

My sincere congrats to lithuanians! Eventually we saw the real lithuanian three pointers bomb.:) Argentinian defence in this game resemble the real sieve in contrast to Lithuania. Also i want to praise Robertas Javtokas. He stopped quite well pick-and-roll between Prigioni and Scola.
I wish lithuanians good luck against USA. It,s time to take the real revenge for Sydney. My dream is to see the CLASSIC FINAL Serbia vs Lithuania.;)

Amaing victory lithuania :)
Does any1 know if you could download this game somewhere, with english comentary ?

I don't want to "rain on anyone's parade," but there are still a few more quarters of basketball to play. :D :D

If Lithuania can make those three pointers again, they will beat the US. But, it looks like in the second half, Lithuania's shooting became more "pedestrian." I think Lithuania made their first 8 three point attempts, but then they went 4/14 after that. Which Lithuania will play against Team USA?

Great, balanced offense from Lithuania.

Lithuania doesn't need to hit 8 of 8 from 3 to beat USA...if they'll shoot their normal 50 % from deep and defend as well as they did against argies in the first half of yesterday's game, they'll be just fine. And of course, we have to tale care of the ball - our gurds will have to play VERY smart in the passing lanes and not to gift USA easy buckets on fastbreak.

Damn, Lithuania is certainly the pleasant surprise of the tournament. And judging from their last performance against USA, they definitely have a good chance of winning so... good luck Lithuania ;).

Pocius is better athlet, better defender. Thats why he's playing more i guess.

Don't know about other cities in our country but Vilnius isn't sleeping tonight, ppl everywhere shouting Lietuva :p

Pocius just suits better for fast playing style. Gecevičius is much better when we're playing slower basketball and when his opponent isn't very good athlet. I can't see him playing at defense against Billups or players like that. :)

today morning woke up with some kind of bad feeling. somehow I feel that someone from the bench players today can play the way as we do not expect from him. who could it be I do not know, but... I hope I'm wrong

probably i'm an Argentinean

To be honest, i don't think so. Since the EU expanded and all Eastern Europe players can play as "community players", very few Argentine players were signed by Spanish or Italian clubs.

PS: this is not the end, 2012 will probably have Argentina contending for a medal.
