You should read everything, what he said. not just first sentence. He never had problems to admit, when he played bad. It was obvious that he couldn't play normal.

"I probably wasn't 100 percent. I had a lot of problems throughout the tournament, but that wasn't the reason for the loss. I played a disastrous game today. The whole country that she was supporting, I let it down. I should have played a lot better, I made a lot of stupid mistakes."

I did read it but it’s irrelevant. If you want to congratulate the opponent then do so. You can’t make excuses at the same time. No need to mention any injury. He was healthy enough to play end of story. Like I said before let someone else make the excuses like the coach, it doesn’t come across well.

I have a lot to say about Dončič after this game. Most of Slovenia does, be it decisionmaking, defense, partying during the tournament etc. and it's not all positive, far from it. However getting to the press conference after this defeat and commenting after the game isn't one of those negative ones. Especially since there were players that didn't show up there after the defeat of their NT. I don't think he took that injection in the second half as an excuse, judging from the way he ussualy thinks.
