Huge injury problems for Serbia...

Rasic didnt practice today and coach Ivkovic said that this tournament is most probably over for him, while Krstic couldnt finish the last training as well and he is doubtful for this game...

Not good news but it can also be the typical ivkovic trick to mentally manipulate the opponent team.

At least make an honest attempt at a conventional gamethread.

Can't believe you run a forum.

Its the hardest quarterfinal to predict, so I dont just cant say who win..I will be with Russians, they are closer for us, lithuanians, and i want final Russia-Lithuania! :D:rolleyes: it would be one step closer.

Russia was always European basketball powerhouse but with all respect to them i think we will have another match with France in semis or hopefully Greece

it wil be cripple fight, I give a slight advantage to the russians:D

Serbia barely managed to snap three match losing streak with a close win against the Turkish team which was the weakest in the group. The tournament has been a disaster for the Serbian team, as they had bigger expectations before the tournament commenced.

As for Russia, I personally dislike their play style since it certainly depends on the daily form of two strong players. They showed the signs of a presumable meltdown in the previous matches. This might be the time they fail against this capable team.

Although my heart beats for the Serbian team, it's most likely to end up in favor of Russia.

We won all important game we had to Italy,Germany and Turkey. Expectations weren"t that great before Eurobasket started because of all absences we had, injuries and players not playing a lot in their clubs last season. I think its great thing we were 4 th in E group , its much more winnable way to the semi finals. I think this game is going to be tight both team have equal chance to advance to semi finals.

Russia prevails.
They have a good roster with athletic players, lacking only a decent American PG.
If only they could sign Bo...

Krstic out would be a disaster. If we had another backup centre (which we could have), it would have taken the pressure off Krstic and he would have an even better tournament. This has to be goodbye for Perovic.

Yes, it's a hardest QF to predict. I think that both teams' chances are even. It's a pity that one of these two teams won't play in the semis cause both of them are very good players-wise and sometimes (but I must admit that not so often) they were demonstrating their real impressive power even in this tournament. But so is life...
P.S. I don't believe that Krstic won't play ;)

A Serbia in form wins this no question, but the Serbs have a bad streak going right now and aren't near their potential

Maybe the Turkey win has given them a boost, but if things stay the same Russia wins
50-50 game, the one undecided game in the quarterfinals

I have to idea what to expect. Really tough to predict, but i think Serbia should win, because the bigger pressure will be on Russia. It will be a close match

Serbia will win this, maybee even easier than expected. Russia suffers from not having a considerable PG, Bykov and Shved are trying their best, but that might not be enough for this level.
Game organisation is a weak point accordingly. Unless it's a fast break, which you can imagine Russians excell at when given a chance, set offense ends up mostly with individual efforts, while they're able to put up some nice 2nd chance points with their athleticism as well.
Those that remember Mozgov from 2 years ago and Kirilenko with his ussual performances, Mozgov doesn't get as usefull balls under the rim, while the game is too static for Kirilenko to fully use his combination of height and agility. He has been shut down both vs. Slovenia and Macedonia accordingly.

Basicaly I feel for the Russians as I really like some of their players, with a natural PG the situation could be way different and they'd be among candidates for the gold. But this time, they're not.

Maybe Perovic will explode and show what he can! :D
Just kidding, most probably Krstic will have little less min's on court, that means Perovic and Marjanovic will have to deal with Mozgov
Anyway, I think that we can win this, Russia is in good form, but in my opinion is way weaker than last two Euros.

I guess that it really depends ok Krstic now. If he cannot play, our chances drop drastically - he's the one player in the current roster we simply cannot do without. To bad for Rasic, he's also missed in rotation, but we'll manage (have to) somehow without him.
This team of our is trully unpredictable, and one doesn't know what to expect from them. IMO 60-40 for Russians, based on everything shown by now (their game against FYROM, although did left them defeatless, was in no way impressive), but I'm not saying we cannot defeat them. I expect it :D

Serbia can hope only in a high 3p%. Russian front court is unbeatable by Krstic and the other mediocre Serbian big men. My prediction: 70/30 for Russia in a close game.

Russians dont have point guards at all... They will struggle to defend Teodosic in my opionion...

Also they lucky won in close matches against Slovenia and FYROM...

I rate Serbia as far stronger team...

Also Ivkovic is important factor for this game because he is some kind of basketball father for Khryapa, Monya and Bykov... He was their 1st teacher in CSKA and Dinamo... He knows them like his own pockett...

Savanovic is not mediocre player for sure...
