With the way they are playing, Australia is the favourite by a small margin. Never count out Lithuania.

I still say the Lavrinovic twins should have been given one more hurrah before retiring.

Let's be honest why Australia isn't feeling the pressure, or in fact just playing well. It's not because the Australians haven't been to the semis since 2000, it's because they are used to pressure now, 4 of the 5 starters have nba championship rings in the last 3 years, you can say they are Bench players but you can't be shit and make the roster of the nba champs.

True. Aron Baynes mostly warmed the bench for the Spurs in 2013-14 but he was still good in the world cup.

I guess you didn't see Ksystof playin' for some time, he is done for such level. Darjus had a chance, Kazlauskas values him as stretch big, who can contribute for limited time and he probably would make it if healthy, but he is recovering from another injury. It's all over with NT for them

Hard to keep up with Euro bball if you rely a lot on live streaming and work schedules are annoying.

The Lavrinovic twins and Javtokas are my favorite big men from Lithuania along with Sabonis. I like Kleiza as well but he's more of a SF than a PF/C. Not sure if I like Valanciunas.

The only player Lithuania really missing - Motiejunas. Specially now when JV is somewhere...maybe dreaming about next seasons' NBA playoffs.

Darjus in his good shape would be a hell of an oxygen. Bros were a great story in NT, i miss them. JV playing so creepy and there is no any substitution.

I'm in trouble or Motjeunas never played very well with your NT?

He wasn't much of a factor in 2013 but he was definitely coming around in 2014. Our expectations for Motiejūnas were sky high in early 2015 but then he went down with the back injury.

:(

Very true. Is Lithuania the only contender without a center who can hit the three? (Or cover the three?)

USA also. Cousins and Jordan can't hit an outside shot. Maybe they can but it's not their core strength.

Also France has Lauvergne who can stretch and hit the 3pts.

Draymond shot 6-8 from 3 and had nearly a triple double in game 7 of the NBA finals. I keep waiting for Coach K to employ a version of Golden State's "Death Lineup" with Draymond at the 5, but it hasn't happened much.

Jonas Valanciunas hopefully will show up today to play,if not see ya in 2020 Tokyo...other thing we have to return to our indentity.Togetherness, heart and the T E A M effort

Before og I would have been happy for aussies in qf.
Now however I dont see us winning. Australia is playing perfect basketball and are enjoying themselves. While Spain took our souls like monsters from spacejam.
I will be cheering like I always do though!

We have 3 NBA players on our team and Kalnietis looks like he is most NBA ready player in Lithuania. I cant believe how many mins he plays and he does it so great, Mantas is a monster on court. All Lithuania count on him.

The only player who is playing like NBA player is Kalnietis so far :) Maciulis and Kuzminskas had some great games, but couldn't stay entirely consistent. I would say second most consistent player on the team is Seibutis or Jankunas. However, it's one game - now it doesn't matter what happened in the group. Australia might fall, Lithuania might rise again. Off course, I have the same feeling as most of people here that Australia is stronger at the moment.

My last notes before the game: if somehow, someway game will be close 5min left to go,we have good chances upsetting Australia.I feel we play better in endings than they do.Problem is can we stay together with their scoring first 35minutes?

right now its seems : NO. but you never now,in playoffs atmosphere way stranger things happens...

When I think of Australian basketball, the first two names that pop into my head are the two leading lights, Andrew Gaze and Shane Heal. Why aren't they on the Australian team this year? One of the traditional reasons for begging off the national team? Hangnail injury? Sitting out the summer to get married? Some hissy fit with the Australian coach?

Btw, does Australian Coach Andrej Lemanis speak any Latvian?
