Currenty play 6 players :)

Here play also hmmm Apodaca, Rodriguez and about 3-4 other players ;)

Maybe it is the other way around!

Maybe it is the other way around!

The question should be:Why Puerto Rican players like so much to play in Poland league?

Guys, help me with it, because it's really weird.
Kevin Hamilton from Kotwica Kolobrzeg was temporarily suspended by Polish League, because of him still owing some things/stuff (difficult to write in english for me) to his former club, Cariduros de Fajardo from PuertoRico.

Usually it's clubs owing money or something else to players, this time it's something wrong in opposite direction. Maybe he didn't give back his club's t-shirt? Or maybe he brought a presiden't daughter here without his approval? :)

Anybody has idea what could happen?

Regarding amount of Puertorican players here - it's mostly because of Rick Apodaca and Christian Dalmau being very succesfull here. Both were very good here and it's easy to main local agent, Jose Paris, to sell more players labeled as "Next Apodaca" directly to clubs, or through polish agent he's working with.

It's more of seeing polish league as a good place to be elevated for higher status, than actually liking living here, that makes all your guys coming to Poland. But it's not so bad, they've got decent money, it's cheap here, they are usually local stars (which makes them very popular among the girls), are vital parts of their teams, etc...

The first player from PuertoRico I remember in Poland was Jeffrion Aubry, who a few years ago was very good as a defensive center for Czarni Slupsk. But he got homesick and came back during the season, even if he was really good and not very expensive too.

It's hard to say for me about Puertoricans playing here privately, because I only got to know Christian Dalmau and it was also sporadically, but my goof friend was in very good contacts in him. But it's hard to compare Dalmau to others - he was already experienced in Europe, had a family with him (only guy besides him with family here is Carlos Rivera), but he was really, really nice guy.

Thank you woma! Christian Dalmau is one of three brothers (all of them very good basketball players) and sons of Puerto Rico's super-star Raymond Dalmau, who represented Puerto Rico in international competition during the 70's and 80's. Very good family and we Puerto Ricans are very proud of them. Nice to read that they do well in Poland and are well liked there.

Woma, but puertoricans playing in Poland I see your point but in fact they contribute to their respective teams. Example:

Javier Mojica is the leading scorer in the league.
Carlos Rivera is doing well for his team and is putting good numbers also.
Roberto Nieves, he is inconsistent so far.
Kevin Hamilton is doing pretty good.
Donald Copeland is one of the leaders in assist and stealing in the league.

The truth is that the puertorican are doing well in Poland, it should not have any doubt in that.

Maybe reason is only one - Puertorican player are really very very good. And in Polish league they can show basketball on high level - in leagues like Spain, Italy, Greece there are so many foreign players that they didnt have chances - and Poland is not so strong league, and guys from Puertorico can play more minutes and show good basket :)

But I am not doubting it, they are good or very good players, with just a few exceptions of players who didn't make it here.

But I posted here just to explain situation, why PuertoRicans are doing their stuff in Poland, and not in Germany, Belgium or France, which are leagues of similar level. If Dalmau or/and Apodaca would be brought to one of this other counties, you would have your players now playing there, with occasional one or two players coming to Poland.

We have Filiberto Rivera playing in Germany and he is a good pg in the german league.

I know. I am not saying Puertoricans are playing only here!!!
Btw, always (since I saw him in UTEP) wanted to see Rivera playing here, but it didn't happen. Maybe one day...

Quoting "Allo Allo" - "You stupid Philip", learn finally how to translate articles properly, and also how journalists in Poland works, making headlines, which are totally different than rest of the article.

Mojica won't spend time in jail, he admitted that was drinking after alcohol, he probably get fined, maybe some social work (like spending some times playing basketball with kids), club will fined him too and that's it.
In most negative circumstances he will get senteced and will be under probation, but I doubt that it will come to situation like this.
