So is Ange Kouame now out of the picture? Tough luck for him. I hope he would play in the good leagues like in nbl austalia and europe leagues after uaap season.

I think that Puerto Rico's BSN is a nice league for a guy like Ange.

instead of Euroleague and/or NBL, I want Ange Kouame to test his game in the Latin Americas/Carribean.

This part of the part of the globe has decent leagues that suits Kouame. Dom Rep's LNB, PR's BSN, Venezuela's SPB, and Brazil's NBB - these leagues are filled physical and athletic players. I want him to get used into such of game.

the sbp's idiocy is showing. they should be working to get ange local status. him becoming a local gives Gilas so many options for roster composition.

That's becoz SBP, especially Al Panlilio, is just too focus on getting that exception from FIBA on Jordan Clarkson.

I agree with U, Kouame being declared as a local by FIBA gives Gilas so many options on roster compositions.

It would be better for Gilas that Kouame, being the younger player compared to Clarkson, would be the one getting the FIBA exception instead of Clarkson. Kouame is 24 while Clarkson is already 30.

Just watched some highlight videos of Cameron Oliver & I think he is a very good prospect for a naturalized player for Gilas. His credentials are impressive. At 6-foot-8, he is really a natural "four" who can hit it from 3-point distance as well as drive/slash to the lane & finish the break. And he is gifted with athleticism. At 26 yrs of age, tamang tama lang edad nya for a naturalized player.

With Kai & AJ Edu as our centers, I think we would need a naturalized player who plays the four spot. Oliver has Justin Baltazar & Carl Tamayo to back him up at the 4-spot. I think the small forward spot is getting stronger with the likes of Dwight Ramos, Jamie Malonzo & Calvin Oftana in there, with Malonzo also able to play as a "four".

Watched his highlightd as well. IMO, with the plethora of centers we have, it's perfect to get a 6'8-6'9 natural forward with athleticism and decent range. After Kai and Edu, our next bigmen Junemar and Chiu are more back-to-the-basket bigs. With Kai and AJ having overseas commitments, that will leave us with these two lumbering bigs. Getting a dominant, inside operator big as NP will make not sense as it will clog the shaded lane - that will run counter against Chot's philosophy, if there is.

So enlisting Oliver as our NP candidate will make sense. Justin Baltazar should be Oliver's better reliever. However, I don't see Baltazar's name in yesterday's Senate.

I’m still not losing any hope that AK34 may somehow get that exemption due to his basketball roots are fully established here starting from his High School days at LSGH(?) hence that provision about the so-called immersion are very much strong for the kid if only those current SBP dudes had the desire and motivation to do so.

I would like to think theyve tried and failed already.

Me thinks Ange will be given an exemption after a decade or so, similar to the likes of Greggy, newsome, Ahamninsi etc

Hmm. How about resident import Brownlee? You could argue he's been immersed in PH culture much more than some of our fil foreign players.

An international agent told me that if Cameron Oliver gets naturalized as a Filipino citizen and can suit up for Gilas, he is likely to be paid between $750k to $1M a year.

The @officialSBPinc, is "throwing crazy money" at Oliver, a former NBL star.

IMHO he also has a great chance of being exempted, though he should have been naturalized years ago

Sir I think one of the strong basis for that so-called immersion thing is that the player(must) started or fully developed his/her basketball roots on that particular country during his/her developing and adolescent years e.g. elementary or high school years like the case of AK34. Now to solidify more on this matter for the eyes of FIBA as an additional proof for exemption, I think those grandpa from the PBA must allow the dude to play as a Filipino because our constitution already given the constitutional rights, the mandamus for the kid. As for Brownlee I don’t think it will be possible because his basketball roots starts in the US(?).
