We can ask Fiba for Exemption on Kuoame, like than with GS, and play him as local...
GS was granted eligibility after playing 11 years in the PH. At that rate, Kouame will be eligbile in 2027.

sbp will push for him as a local for the upcoming wc qualifiers no need to wait until 2027.
Where do the Blue Eaglets go more so since other teams will be fielding African players next season – I have no idea.

Does Kuoame even have Filipino parents? Not sure why Fiba should give an exemption when he doesn't have connection here other than playing basketball for couple of years
Thon moved to Australia as a refugee when he was child.Exhibit #1: Thon Maker.

Kuoame moved to the Philippines to study and play basketball.
is that a valid difference?
While not exactly the same at least it is within the same principle of moving and residing as a minor & financially dependent on his adopted guardian (a guide line for possible exception
That's (ange) at least more similar , compared to a player who has Pinoy blood but has never lived in the Philippines and is gainfully suported professionally (foreign league) by another country, the latter reason and situation for exception (blood) ) is not in the principle or guidelines as a valid reason for exception. in this case we're sighting our own rules as basis for exception not what is written as guidliness provided by FIBA. if one wants to make an argument with that, then change FIBA guideline rules for exception rather than simply request for an exception for a specific player . The former (change rule) is obviously more difficult and unlikely ( good luck with that)
As you can see this isn't a question of what is right or morally right , but the protocols of making a request for exception or changing FIBA guideline rules for eligibility (excepetions included)
Fotu might be a better example.
Actually Greg, (take away the blood connection which is meaningless to FIBA anyway) , Ange is similar to Greg ( also take into account the beucracy of the laws in the Philippines that takes time to naturalise people , expecially minors)
yeah, possibly. i can see that angle.
but Greg was living in RP for a long period of time before he got his passport and his stay enabled him to have roots in the country. how long is Ange in the Philippines? are we expecting Ange to get the exemption after he roughly stayed as long as Greg before getting the exemption?
