Players that we can have naturalized

chot is drooling over mcgee because the denver nuggets run the DDO too. so if we gonna get him, adjustment wise, familiarity with the system, he would fit like a glove in chot's DDO... Like the castro-alapag or the andre miller-ty lawson 2 pg backcourt lineup, undersized but pure hustle 4's in pingris and faried, denver's DDO and chot's DDO sure have similarities..

Rockets is also running the DDO. ;)

lawson = castro
galinarri = chan

hehe

hehe but seriously IMO, if we take a look at chot's choices of players for his DDO, the gilas 2 lineup currently looks a little bit the same with the denver nuggets of course minus the insane NBA verticals and such..

intangibles guy all around lockdown d - norwood = iguodala
stretch big - rdo = gallinari
undersized hustle 4 - pingris = faried
shot blocking/running big - aguilar = anthony randolph
swingmen shooters minus athleticism - chan, david, fonacier = wilson chandler, jordan hamilton, fournier?
lead penetrator - castro = lawson
veteran pg - andre miller = alapag
and so on..

what u guys think?

I know this is a bit silly but What are the chances of Deandre Jordan getting a slot in Team USA lineup? :rolleyes: knowing he'll be against Demarcus Cousins,Andre Drummond,Tyler Zeller,Greg Monroe heck even Tyson Chandler and Kevin Love might suit up.

who knows? If MVP can get this guy we might see Heddadi on the receiving end of this dunk.

Teams would just foul him and put him to the line...we're in trouble if that happens...

Too bad Deandre Jordan has already played for United States national team if I'm not mistaken.

There will be allot of Team USA reject centers possibly Drummond, Favors, or Sanders. We might consider them for our future naturalize player. For next year i will stay with Douhit if he stays healthy, Douhit for me is a good player especially in defense.

realistically though, and i read this in Philstar, Chot would be happy with a Dozier type 6' 9" who can play both forward spots and center as well, let's face it getting a 7 footer with skill will automatically mean he's in the NBA with a big contract. the insurance would just be huge. a dozier type while not necessary ideal , does fit the DDO as should be reasonably affordable $ 100 k a year range

aside from the huge insurance costs, availability is also a concern if we get a NBA player....one minor injury and that player will be pulled out by their NBA team...plus, with the new FIBA Asia qualifier, we need to get a player who's readily available (ala douthit)...

i guess dozier would fit in DDO of chot... but again height matters... if ever we could get dozier then we could let greg and junmar play their natural position... but against haddadi?? i doubt... :)

With the news that Greg might be ineligible, i guess we're moving into the Douthit direction again-- get a natural C as the naturalized players since we're very thin in that spot. The Dozier types would have worked if we have a semblance of depth and (actually developed) players at the C spot. With a lone giant (Fajardo) now available i guess that won't be wise...

It made me think, if Slaughters is ineligible as rumored, he can be our naturalised player for tournaments where Doulthit in un available. It does make sense a back-up center right, who trains in the gilas pool. Use Greg when it is too costly and unecessary to play Marcus. (e.g. for the SEA , SEABA type of tourneys)

Uh, why? It's not like he's a very special player. Pretty sure there are other better options if you talk about cheap naturalized players.

I do get what analyzed is trying to say.. basically Greg would be the back-up to the back-up plan..

but in case MVP doesn't have the funds for another naturalized player (but duh that is somewhat unbelievable and i HIGHLY DOUBT), then yes Greg is an option - that Greg would be the back-up for the Naturalized bigman (Douthit or whoever that will be)..

yup. the naturalization process takes time. having him as a back-up is better than having none at all... simply because he is based here and he can be pulled out anytime. other options include, tautua or any ineligible fil-for 6'7 and above as long as they base here in the country.

Fine, you had me at "back-up to the back-up". I guess in smaller tourneys that is feasible.
