A year ago, Michael Jordan was enshrined in the Naismith Hall of Fame and a year later, he was in attendance once again as Jordan was a member of the first USA Men's Olympic Basketball Team composed of Professional Players from the NBA.
Perhaps the greatest TEAM USA Lineup of all time, joining in induction the greatest Amateur USA Men's Olympic Basketball Team in the 1960 Olympics consisted of stars like Jerry West and Oscar Robertson.
The Charlotte Bobcats have named Gerald Wallace and Stephen Jackson as Team Co-Captains.

Why the Charlotte Bobcats should not be overlooked
Charlotte Bobcats head coach Larry Brown will be 70 years old before training camp begins for the 2011 season. Brown, in his third year with the franchise, is already the team's all-time winningest coach and last season led the club to its first winning record and playoff berth since entering the NBA in 2004.
The Bobcats, however, would ultimately be swept by the Orlando Magic in the first round of the playoffs. But in a surprise to many, the team showed true grit only losing by an average margin of 9 points, which included only one double-digit defeat.
For perspective on the Bobcats' surprising success against the Magic as a seventh seed, it's important to note that Orlando eventually became Eastern Conference finalists and demolished (series sweep) the third-seeded Atlanta Hawks in the second round by a NBA record 25-point margin of victory.
The Bobcats have improved their victory total in the Hall of Fame coach's first two seasons in the Queen City and in typical Brown fashion he has transformed the team with a complete roster overhaul.
The only two players remaining from the 2008 season are All-Star forward Gerald Wallace and reserve center Nazr Mohammed. A third, swingman Matt Carroll, was reacquired in an offseason trade after spending part of past two seasons as a member of the Dallas Mavericks.
This summer Raymond Felton, the team's starting point guard since 2006, signed a two-year free agent deal with the New York Knicks. Felton averaged 13.3 points and 6.4 assists in 399 career games with Charlotte. To date, the team hasn't replaced Felton with a big name acquisition although rumors continue to swirl that the club is open to making a deal.
Despite the influx of new players during Brown's tenure and Felton's departure without an equal replacement the Bobcats are still primed for a second straight playoff trip in the rapidly improving Eastern Conference --- and here's why.
Stephen Jackson is an All-Star talent that will be entering his first full season with the franchise. Jackson was acquired by Charlotte in a late 2009 deal with the Golden State Warriors and in 72 games with the club last season averaged 21.1 points and 5.1 rebounds.
Brown expects an even larger role from the ten year veteran this season that goes beyond filling up the box score with just points. With Felton's departure, the expectation is that Jackson will be able to relieve pressure on the point guard trio of D.J. Augustin, Shaun Livingston and Sherron Collins by also serving as a creator of offensive opportunities for his teammates.
Since 2008 Jackson has quietly averaged 20.5 points, 5 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game. Compare that production to Hawks All-Star guard Joe Johnson, who averaged 21.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists last season and its clear the Bobcats have a true gamer at two-guard.
The 32 year old Jackson, who notched eleven games of 30+ points in 2010, has also been challenged by Brown to lose weight before training camp in order to fully handle the two-guard responsibilities against the league's quicker guards.
Another reason the Bobcats' playoff positioning will remain intact is the continued development of Wallace who's coming off a career-year. Wallace is the lone remaining player from the Bobcats' inaugural season.
At 28, Wallace was selected to his first All-Star appearance, and set career-highs in games played (76) and rebounds per game (10.2). He was also named to the All-Defensive first team.
Jackson's presence in the lineup allows Wallace the ability to slip into more of a secondary scorer role, where he appears to be more comfortable, while anchoring the team's defensive efforts. During the 2010 season this was evident as he was the only player in the league to finish with at least 600 rebounds, 100 steals and 80 blocks.
Charlotte also features a still developing young core that will be expected to make significant strides next season.
Augustin struggled tremendously in his second year after posting respectable numbers as a rookie. By the end of last season, Brown's confidence in the former University of Texas product had dipped considerably. Even with those struggles, the organization is hoping that Augustin's disappointing campaign sparks the worth ethic needed to return to his rookie year form and handle the starting the point guard duties if needed.
If not, the team signed former lottery pick Shaun Livingston in free agency. Livingston almost had his career cut short due to a gruesome knee injury in 2007, but showed promise that he's redefined his game enough to help offset the impacts of the impairment.
As a starter for the Washington Wizards during the final month of last season, Livingston averaged 15.5 points and dished out 6.3 assists showing the lateral mobility of years past.
Power forward Tyrus Thomas is also poised for a breakthrough this season after posting averages of 10.1 points and 6.6 rebounds in 25 games with the Bobcats. Charlotte re-signed the LSU product to a five-year $40 million deal with the hopes he could not only break into the starting lineup (didn't start a game for brown), but also demonstrate the skills that made him a lottery pick on a more consistent basis.
From a scheduling standpoint, five of the Bobcats' first ten contests are against teams that finished 2010 with a subpar .500 record (Indiana, New Jersey, Detroit, Toronto and Washington).
The matchups continue to look favorable as the team's longest road trip (six games) from January 25 - February 2, includes four games against teams from the Pacific Division, in which Charlotte went 8-2 against last season.
The Bobcats, who set a franchise record home mark going 31-10, will play 22 of their first 41 contests in Charlotte and although nineteen of the team's final 41 games will be on the road seven of the final 11 contests will take place at home which will be important for the late season playoff push / seed positioning.
While the Bobcats remain clearly behind their Southeast Division rival Miami HEAT, Orlando Magic and Atlanta Hawks and still face huge concerns at the point guard position, the current talent level coupled with a veteran savvy coach like Brown makes a second straight playoff trip an attainable goal.

Bobcats' success brings a bounty of season-ticket sales
Jordan's takeover of team also helps bring fans and corporate sponsors.
The Charlotte Bobcats' best season yet has quickly translated into one of the NBA's fastest growing season-ticket bases. And the team's list of corporate sponsors also continues to grow rapidly.
The Bobcats, who reached the playoffs for the first time in their six-year history last spring, have renewed 91percent of their season ticket holders and sold 1,575 new season tickets for the 2010-11 season, which begins in October.
Both those numbers are in the top 10 in the 30-team league, according to Bobcats president Fred Whitfield, who got the news at a recent NBA executives meeting. The Bobcats have never been in the top 20 of the league in either of those categories, Whitfield said.
Whitfield said the Bobcats had a 71percent renewal rate this time last year and had sold fewer than 400 new season tickets. They sold about 7,000 season tickets overall last season and expect to go well past the 8,000 mark this season.
It appears the bump in sales can be traced to the team's play last season and a hands-on approach by new majority team owner Michael Jordan.
"We repositioned ourselves," said Pete Guelli, the team's chief sales and marketing officer. "How the team performed during the regular season, then Michael buying the team, then making the playoffs - it was the perfect storm."
The Bobcats' average attendance of 15,824 in the 19,000-seat Time Warner Cable Arena ranked 22nd in the league last season. That was a 10 percent increase from 2008-09, the largest increase of any team in the NBA's Eastern Conference, Whitfield said.
The Bobcats have brought in 40 new corporate sponsors - adding to the 53 they had last season. Newest on board are Husqvarna and CPI Security to "significant, multi-year" deals, according to Whitfield.
Whitfield said the sponsors are part of a package that includes other events at the arena - including concerts and minor-league hockey games - that has the arena booked more than 150 days a year. The Bobcats - who manage and operate the arena - recently signed with AEG Facilities, a booking company. that helped the arena land summer concerts by Paul McCartney and Justin Bieber.
"AEG has really helped us 'un-level' the playing field with our competition at places like the Greensboro Coliseum, RBC Center (in Raleigh) and (Winston-Salem's) Joel Coliseum," said Whitfield.
This will be the first full season where Michael Jordan will the "hands-on" owner of the Charlotte Bobcats. I have an article with a great news for all the Bobcats fans who are faithful to the team:
Things look great with all these sponsors coming on board and the great turn out of purchases of both pre-season and 2010 - 2011 Season games.
