Play As One - Charlotte Bobcats Thread

Kemba Walker debuted with 18 points, including the game clincher as the Bobcats beat the Hawks 79-77. Walker had a bad shooting night on his first NBA Experience as he went 4-13 in the field and 1-4 from beyond the arc. Walker did showed the exceptional ability to break down the defense off the dribble then get to the line to fish for fouls.

I look for Walker to tone down his game and add more distribution on his plays as the season progresses.

With an all-scrub teammates? He's better off just jacking up his shots :D

True, the talent level in the Bobcats roster have a lot to be desired when compared to other NBA teams but Walker is still a point guard at best and it would help his stock more if he learns to control the professional game with playmaking and playcalling. That will help the Bobcats more if their point guard of the future is actually making his teammates better.

Forcing too many shots and inclining with the shoot first mentality will be a question of his decision making as well. Prior to the draft, scouts pointed out that Walker is really an undersized two-guard.

Still, Walker is a shoot first guard and will shoot it with a sense of no-conscience as he always believes he will make them when it counts the most.

So far so good for the production of the Bobcats' young back-court.

In the nail-biter loss against the Miami HEAT, Augustin and Henderson combined to score 41 of the team's 95 points. Their rookie, Kemba Walker scored 14 points off the bench.

Charlotte winning on the Knicks home floor. Boris Diaw with 27 points while Gerald Henderson was second with 24 points.

Corey Maggette will miss two to four weeks worth of games due to a strained left hamstring.

But some good news for tonight: Tyrus Thomas returned to the active roster as the Bobcats are currently playing against the Atlanta Hawks.

Atlanta wins in OT 102-96 over the Bobcats. D.J. Augustin had 21 points and 12 assists and rook Kemba Walker had 19 points. Bismack Biyombo had 3 blocks.

Kemba Walker so far:

10.6 ppg, 2.4 rpg and 3.0 apg

What I like about the rookie is his competitive fire and the willingness to play under pressure. From the games that I watched, Walker converts when the game is on the line.

Rookie Kemba Walker got his first stand and made the most of it. Walker scored a career high 23 points. The ever improving Byron Mullens added 20 points. While guard Gerald Henderson lead the team with 26 points.

The Bobcats scored 38 points in the first quarter.

I will be following the progress of Paul Silas' interesting back-court consisting of point guard DJ Augustin and Kemba Walker as a shooting guard.

Quite an undersized back-court pair but they do solve the notion of the insinuation that Charlotte is not big enough for Augustin and Walker. As we know, Augustin came to his own and made progress last season when Raymond Felton left. Automatically, Augustin got the nod for the starting floor leadership.

Along came Kemba Walker. He is shoot first point guard, that in turn was influenced with the decision of making him play as a shooting guard.

Gerald Henderson was moved up a notch, manning the small forward spot despite being 6'4.

At the start of the season, the Bobcats' problem was the center spot as they notched Boris Diaw as the starting center.

Along came Byron Mullens and Bismack Biyombo.

I look for those two to be in for long term with the Bobcats.

Rookie Kemba Walker could start for the foreseeable future whereas DJ Augustin's status is not yet clear. Initially, Augustin was supposed to miss two weeks but sources have it that advance treatment to Augustin's inflamed right toe suggests a much longer duration for being sidelined.

Last night's outing saw Walker score 22 points on the losing end against the New York Knicks.

The Charlotte Bobcats have exercised the fourth year option on guard Gerald Henderson for the 2012-2013 Season.

Corey Maggette stated that he will return to the active lineup in two weeks time. Maggette is recovering from a hamstring injury.

The hamstring injury of Gerald Henderson is another major setback for the already struggling Bobcats. It is expected that Derrick Brown and the returning Corey Maggette to fill up Henderson's spot.

In the midst of a league worst 12 game losing streak, this is some bit of good news.

Bobcats starters getting healthy

Starters, DJ Augustin, Corey Maggette and Corey Maggette are looking to be active after the all-star weekend in Orlando. Don't expect a miraculous turnaround. The addition of the three will help solve the much needed offense blunt.

Still, the Charlotte Bobcats are the favorites to land the 2012 Top Draft Pick in the lottery.

15 consecutive losses and counting. This early and the Charlotte Bobcats are already in the top spot of most mock drafts. Anthony Davis Jr. of UK would be great if the Bobcats do land the top pick in the lottery.
