After trading Shaq, Gentry's Suns are back to the ''run and gun syst''. The Suns started the season very well with a 5-1 record, losing only to the Eastern Conf 2009 champions. Will the Suns make the playoffs this year? Will Steve Nash play like a real 2-time MVP? Will Stoudemire bounce back after missing 30 games last season? Will the 37 year old Hill stay healthy? How will Richardson and Frye help one of the best offensive teams in the NBA?

Discuss Suns basketball..

Richardson sure did lifted the Suns past the Celtics, scoring 34. While Frye adds height and shooting to their front court. It seems this year, Goran Dragic and Alando Tucker are ready to contribute.

Goran, yes.. Alando, not so sure :/. Dragic just needs to improve his FTs. He's shooting just over 10% from the line!!!

Yes, terrible FT attempts and probably because of that lingering minor wrist tear he suffered from Training camp.

the suns are back to the run and gun suns and are at their best since 2007 when they should have won the championship if not for the controversial call against the spurs in game 4 of the playoffs with the suspensions ...1 advantage they have over that team in 2007 is that frye who is guarding the opponent center is 6'11'' so they are better on defense than marion and stoudamire under the basket even though marion used to block alot of shoots but on the set offense wasnt big enough ...unlike 2007 other teams have gotten alot better and bigger like the lakers, celtics, magic(cavs not too much) the suns are not a championship contender but they are a good team in the playoffs and definitely a great season team they will definitely win more than 50 games this season

The Suns have a very descent team this season. Frye is playing really well at the center position and he seems to have meshed well with the team. Nash still amazes me at how he's still playing at an all star level even though he's in his mid 30's. Once Barbosa returns to the lineup he will give them extra firepower as well.
If none of their star players get injured I see the Suns being able to make it to the second round of the playoffs. Making it to the Western conference finals will be asking for too much though cuz with teams like the Lakers, Nuggets, and Spurs it will be really tough for them.

Suns 102-90 Wizards.
Good defense by Phx, Barbosa had 9pts and 4ast after missing 3 games.
Richardson: 22pts.
Nash: 17ast.
Hill: 13rebs.
The Suns are now 3-1 on their 5game road trip. They'll be facing the 76ers next.

Any news on Robin Lopez? I haven't seen his name mentioned in any of the SUNS game.

Goki Dragic looks fairly impressive from many angles. If he manages to avoid foul trouble a bright future ought to await around the corner. Its unfortunate that he has Nash to be back-up pg for.

Ideally, Dragic was bought to Phoenix to exten Nash's career meaning Dragic could log minutes to take the load of the nightly grind to Nash. So far, Dragic is improving and could earn more minutes. Its great to have Nash as a mentor.

Dragic is nice. Especially if he can develop that consistent three pointer.

Suns at 76ers 119-115.

Richardson : 29pts, 8rebs.
Nash : 21pts,20ast,7TOs!
Dudley : 18pts,5rebs,3stls in 22mins.

Suns are now 7-1. They'll be facing NOH at home next.

Fully agreed that Steve Nash as a mentor can do anything but harm to a young, prospective pg like Dragic. What i rather emphasized on was that Dragic's development may decline if he spends the next x yrs as back-up pg for a pg who averages appx 30mpg in regular season.

Great game yesterday by Dragic statistically, didn't see the match. Nice minutes as well.

Suns are very surprising this year.

Possible explanations: Stoudemire is back in full shape and selling of O'Neil enabled the team to pursue its ordinary key tactics that they previously had been great with, with Nash in the front rear for that strategy.

One thing I find most interesting for the Suns is their veteran Grant Hill. Hubey Brown commented that "He is a young 37 year old". Which means 4 years of not much wear and tear night in and night out due to battling foot infections has made hims still performing.
