wait, what happens if Angola wins? does the Italy game have any bearing?

B. League feels like a league that was formed by Jimmy Alapag fans. LOL.

All their PGs are in his mold.

Maybe they saw Alapag killing it in 2014 WC and was inspired by him. IRC Tabuse, their first NBA player, doesnt play like that.

For the Philippines, yes. About Italy? No idea.

how? if Angola wins, Angola at DR will be 2-1. if that happens and we win by 100 pts over Italy, both PH and Italy will.be 1-2? sorry, i only checked the standings now.

there's a call at twitter and FB that those attending the game later at the Araneta Coliseum should wear black as a protest to Chot's and SBP's incompetence

Nice. Il do this.

I havent watched the game so Im also not convinced yet. I have to admit that JPs guards are built differently. In a way they are like Jimmy Alapag. Alapag was 5’10 but with short arms. So he developed his deep 3. This is what I see from JPs guards also.

But B league favors the local small guards. And until I see the game I cant remove the possibility of hometown calls helping JP. We had a lot of hometown calls trying to help us against Angola. We were just too bad to take advantage.

Like I've mentioned in another thread, our problem is we only put winning a game as our goal. Instead of improving the overall quality of our basketball program/system first.

Japan did it correctly, they chose a system/identity and did a wholistic approach towards making that system work. The goal was not immediate wins. The goal was to get better overall: grassroots development, pro league development, etc. Then slowly, the effectiveness of that approach showed like in coming up with homegrown nba players and D1 players, a better pro league, etc.

The win will follow, which it finally did. But no matter what happens going forward, there's no denying that they have raised their quality.

Tab was doing everything right until SBP abruptly pulled the plug.

He actually mentioned it in an interview somewhere, his goal is not really to win individual games. His goal is to develop his players, teach them how to play the game the right way and the wins will follow.

The wins are a bonus, because at the end of the day the player got better.

Not that but the sole Asian berth for the next year's Olympics. Gilas needs a win or a close game to stay alive.

The only way we will make the Olympics (which Choke does not deserve an ounce of) is to win all our remaining games and hope that all other Asians lose theirs. Point differential will come in against Japan if I am correct. Japan needs to lose big in their upcoming games while we need to win big.

If Angola wins over DR, Gilas already out of contention… but Italy, whatever Angola win or lose, this game is crucial for them, their fate is still in their hands… even DR needs to win, the records of the 1st round will be carry over to the 2nd round… DR needs to be top on the group after 2nd round to avoid clash w/ USA in the QF… so all of these games still have bearings… and I’m sure DR will beat Angola… they have momentum right now…

I admit my comments is wrong that day. But day 1 it wasn't.

wtf does this even mean? bunch of word salad. Just admit that you encouraged pinoys to stick to using bahags and bows and arrows while the world learns about tanks and assault rifles by being a certified Chottie fanboy.

Cross your fingers. Edu proving he will be a terror in Asia with his rim protection.

man italy sucks from the 3 this tournament, good job by gilas, heck nice rotation by chot

Go Pinas! Much as I dislike SBP and Chot's style, my love of country supersedes that.

Pogoy making 2 triples. Edu and Malonzo making the defensive presence felt.
