Honest question though.

I am not saying it will happen.

But if dribble drive will gonna be somewhat successful because All of our best players are available IN 2023. Will the credit even go to coach chot?

I reviewed like 3-4 videos of Coach Chot's Dribble drive Offense.

It is heavily reliant on Player's Talent. As in HEAVILY RELIANT.

I just think even if Dribble drive becomes successful, some may argue it is only because of the Players talent.

Dribble Drive Offense can be summarized into:

1. If you have the ball. Make a quick decision to shoot, drive, or pass in a 1on 1 situation.

2. Shooters Be ready for Kick out passes.

3. Abanger Player should know where to position when someone drives. (Opposite to the side which the driver is going)

I kinda doubting a little on this.

Ramos, Baltazar, and Tamayo looks fir on systematic swing offense. But I am not sure how effective they can be if you will give them the ball and make them play 1 on 1 and break down their defender.

And I just discuss offense.

Defense is another issue. I hope wag na palitan defense. Offense will be change, I think it is inevitable in any coaching change.

We only have 1 and 2. For 3 we only have Ange and possibly Kai. This is one reason he couldnt use June Mar properly. June Mar was not explosive or big enough to be in the abangers position internationally. But Tab instead taught June Mar to hit floaters. And lo and behold June Mar was deadly from there. Even against Australia.

Chot has certain biases that prevents him from using good big players.

if it's DDO, then MVP group should throw all the money it can muster. pay Jordan's Clarkson insurance. Plus all the top talent money can buy in the PBA. plug all those positions. forget the players we developed, bunot player that fits DDO in all the roles you mentioned.

if Miami Heat is the model, who will play the Bam Adebayo role? is Kai ready? maybe AJ Edu is. Ange Kouame is the new Douthit. also, get Spoelastra as consultant in World Cup 2023 since we're throwing all the money anyway.

I dunno. First question is, will our bigs be actually involved in the offense? Because Bam has been a keystone of the Heat offense, whether as a passer, as a rim runner, or as a roll man. Chot has to utilize our bigs more heavily. He'll need to call plays for Kai and AJ to run to the rim. Will he do that?

He should be. let's see.

In 2014, he kinda get away with it. Because of castro and alapag are arguably our 2 of the 4 best players back then.

Now, it is the opposite: Kai, AJ, and Kouame (if he stays) will be the best players.

I forgot the 4th option in the DDO.

The post option, they rarely did it with JMF.

But it involves a 1 on 1 post play by a Big while the other 4 are spread outside. It gives the Big Man all the space he needed.

There will be no rebounder though, so the big must be very efficient.

Kai, AJ, and Kouame (?) may be given those

IF AJ will be Healthy.

Kai and AJ are more mobile than JMF.

Thats why I think they fit better in that system than JMF who is a slow post up dominant big

I think Carl, Balti, and Kouame are better options at this point. But Kai may be an option if he can be more efficient in the post. Right now, Kai should ideally fill the Bam role for us, at least on offense. Run the rim, and pass.

And, yes, Chot SHOULD call more plays for bigs than guards. Our bigs are literally our best asset. We'd waste them if the excessive majority of plays are run through our guards. Hay, nako.

lol are we even sure that Carl and Balti's handlers would let them play for Chot? It's no secret that many of these players agreed to join the pool so they can learn under CTB. With him gone, and with Chot back, what can they learn? Stand in the corner & wait for the kickout?

Kaya nga eh. After Gilas stints, Carl Tamayo and Justin Baltazar were to expand their skillsets and it was noticeable. What I love about Tab is he has a vision. Had LeBron Lopez stayed with Tab, he could have learned a thing or two

Now, it is Credo, Dave, and Ong's turn to learn alot from Tab.

Ok. Let's see some positives and negatives.

POSITIVES:

1. Better connection and relation to pba. So a little easier to ask for pba reinforcements.

2. Coach Chot Connection Outside the country. Filams and Fil Foreigners will be tapped and invited if they are available.

NEGATIVES

1. Back to zero system

2. Destroy the development of young Players

PS: Watch the video. 8:20 mark. Chito trinidad interview. On how Coach Chot replaces Toroman. LOL. you be the judge

POSITIVES:

1. Better connection and relation to pba. So a little easier to ask for pba reinforcements. - with the pandemic ruining PBA skeds and given the already low level of coaching there, compared with the consistent development of our Asian neighbors esp. SK and Japan, sending PBA players to intl tourneys is not a positive. Will even be worse in 2023 when Lee Hyunjung joins the korea pool and Yeo Junseok & Ha Yungi get more experience. Same thing for Japan with Rui and Yuta. We won't even be able to touch NZ & AUS.

2. Coach Chot Connection Outside the country. Filams and Fil Foreigners will be tapped and invited if they are available. - Are they eligible? Will they get significant minutes under a coach who doesn't trust young players if their name isn't Jordan Clarkson?

The positives are bad for me. Didnt we want to develop our players to be international level. Isnt that what Tab is doing? Even Dwight was not this good before he came here. What development has Chot done? Is absorbing fully developed Filfors even a program? Unfortunately, it took a foreigner to have the vision and training program to develop our players to be more than they are in the local scene and to be competitive internationally. If the SBP doesnt see see this is what we needed all along they must be blind.

Where are the positives? The PBA got a coach they could control like a puppet who will never criticize and say controversial things against our local leagues. In return GILAS got their "full support " again whatever that means.

Drey was heavily used in DDO to attack from outside. he got it from other sets as well but this was the strength of the DDO. Neither Carl, Balti, Gelo, nor Kai has shown they can consistently do this. JMF was able to do something before by letting him do some 1on1 against his defender. IMO, JMF footwork is vastly superior then any of our young bigs because he focused on this. our young bigs are good cutters who has decent range.

Yeah, June Mar has better footwork. However, Chot doesn't run many plays through the post, nor have I seen him use his bigs much as rim runners. He ran plays through Blatche because Blatche had the ability to attack from the perimeter like a guard.

When I said running plays through our bigs, I meant either in the high or low post or as rim runners, which Chot has to adapt.

Lol. Yeah guys haave good points.

Very hard to state good points in this decision.

Lets see

inuuto nila mga tao para sabihin nag-resign pero politika naman talaga.

we are being lied to. it was not a resignation, he was removed. due to politics. no inside info is required to read the real situation here.
