would not be surprised though. I have some lazy officemates who uses chatgpt to put in their customer emails. they still put what they want to say, but a big chuck of it they get it from chatgpt/

In a lot of cases in socmed (profiles, comments sections, etc) it is now fully-automated. Minimal human input. Most people wouldn't realize they're chatting with an AI agent/bot.

Then if it leads you to a link...it makes it most probable.

Off-topic...Am I the only one who notices a possible A.I. bot/agent in the forum?

Not much longer when they'll be hard to notice. For now though, sounds very chat gpt.

Been noticing this too, eventually this forum will just be bots debating against each other

SBP Seek FIBA Exceptions........

https://www.philstar.com/sports/2025/04/07/2434084/sbp-seek-fiba-exceptions

Ivory Coast native Ange Kouame, who is a naturalized Filipino, should be in the list of candidates for exception since he’s a local collegiate graduate like Slaughter and Newsome. Another candidate could be La Salle’s Mike Philips who played for the Gilas gold medal squad at the 2023 SEA Games as a Philippine passport-holder. In the SEA Games, an athlete may represent a country with a passport regardless of when it was issued.

UP’s Quentin Miloria-Brown would be another candidate. He has submitted a copy of a green-cover Philippine passport that was issued before turning 16 but it was never used.

If at least one of Mike, Ange, and QMB is classified as a local in FIBA tournaments, that will help resolve the issue with us being a donut when neither Kai nor AJ are in the lineup.

We'll then have more freedom in choosing our next NP. We can choose a non-center and/or a non-interior defender as our NP because won't have to worry about the interior if we have at least one of Mike, Ange, and QMB as a local.

I think QMB will be declared by FIBA as legit Pinoy local player soon, hence leaving Kouame & Mike Philipps as the 2 candidates for FIBA-exemptions. Kahit isa man lang kina Kouame & Philipps ang ma grant ng exemption by FIBA, that would already be great for Gilas.

Philipps will be exempted eventually, as long as he goes straight to PBA after UAAP

would be available by next 4 year cycle, 5 years in college + 3 years of pro here in ph is more than enough for sure

If QMB will be cleared as a local by virtue of his PH passport he said to be acquired before his 16th birthday, that leaves Kouame and Philipps as our candidates for the exemption. So if it is Philipps, that will be fine to me. QMB and Philipps should solve some holes whenever either or both Kai and AJ are out.

Ron Harper, Jr. should be our naturalized player in lieu of Justin Brownlee if the ban becomes longer.

Starting 5:

Scottie
RHJr
Dwight
Edu
QMB

Bench:
Newsome
CJ/Oftana
Ange
Tamayo
KQ

Junemar and Oftana/CJ are mostly probably out of the rotation but still in the lineup. If Mike is also exempted, we may not even see Junemar in the lineup.

I just don't know if SBP & coach Tim have of contingency measures in their minds in case Justin Brownlee's FIBA suspension would be more than 3 months? Are they considering Ron Harper, Jr. as a possible replacement for JB in case JB's suspension overlaps the 2025 Asia Cup in August? Or maybe they're thinking of bringing back Jordan Clarkson?

They should consider Ron Harper, Jr. He is not a slouch in the G-League. In fact, the following are his statline throughout his G-League stint:

These are his advance stats:

I think that his contract will be significantly lower than those of Jordan Clarkson. Still, a G-League caliber.

His stats in the G-league is very impressive.

Ron Jr. may not be in the caliber of a Jordan Clarkson but in Asia-Oceania level basketball, he would be good enough. Justin Brownlee isn't in the caliber of Clarkson yet we all know how serviceable JB is for Gilas. From what I read in the scouting report about Ron Jr., he is described as a decent defender with an incredible wingspan which more than compensate for his 6-foot-4 height. And of course, he's still young & still developing. Another good aspect that's noticeable with Ron Jr. based on the stats that ja.he presented is his decent 3-pt. shooting. Imagine he is making at least 3 three-pointers in every game on a pretty decent 3-pt FG shooting %.

At only 24 yrs old, he can be serviceable for Gilas in 8 to 10 years span.

What I don't get is people from the SBP or PBA seems to overlook him. He can play as a local in the PBA, even in MPBL. His contract may hurt the pocket of many teams but that is significantly lower than those of Jordan Clarkson. The thing is he plays like an import, maybe even better than Justin Brownlee and Marcus Douthit.

What I like best about him is he's 24. Perfectly aligned with Kai, AJ, Dwight, etc. That's about 6 more years of increasing quality and about 12 more playing years.

He can also be an elite 3-pt shooter in the Asia level which is a team need and would be a good complement if QMB, Mike, Ange, etc become eligible (if they don't we need someone bigger).

Has anyone asked Harper Jr. if he will prioritize Gilas over his NBA dreams (that's the point of staying in G-league yes?)?

I have an edited needs list for Gilas, based on personal observation. I initially made the list in case JB retires. You may add if you want.

Shot creation
Go-to guy
Interior defender in case AJ and Kai are not in the lineup
Maybe another initiator or some playmaking
Shooting
Wing who can at least stop dribble peneration and rotate, better if he can defend man-to-man

How many of these needs (and any other needs) can be filled by our current FIBA-eligibles, and do we have enough FIBA eligibles to fill the need?

Shot creation - Ray Parks/Wright/Tolentino
Go-to guy - Ray Parks/Wright/Tolentino
Interior defender in case AJ and Kai are not in the lineup - Absolutely nothing with locals, QMB/Philipps/Kouame
Maybe another initiator or some playmaking - Heading/Kiefer
Shooting - Heading/Parks
Wing who can at least stop dribble peneration and rotate, better if he can defend man-to-man - Navarro/ Balti (the the 2020 version that was handled by Tab but I doubt he can still be that guy, he is already used to playing as big)
