That win against China was mostly due to Brownleee going nuclear.

Let’s not overexcite ourselves.

We need to beat NZ this November.

We dont need to beat NZ, would be nice though. Still think NZ is more talented than us but if they dont have a permanent coach then we have a shot.

We need to beat them because they will be our regular opponents in the FIBA Asia zone.

this is like a confidence booster going forward.

2027 WCQ won't be a walk in the park.

we don’t want to lose our confidence.

Correct bro.
While credit goes to Coach Tim & our Gilas boys for beating China in last year's Asian Games (we actually beat China twice in a row counting that win in the 2023 World Cup), I think it was a game that could have gone either way. Kumbaga eh may halong kunting swerte din yung panalo natin as Justin Brownlee played one of his best games in international competitions. But as they say, a win is a win so we just took that victory in whatever shape or form.

I agree with U bro, let's not get overexcited with those wins over China last year to the point that we would think that Gilas is now better than China or that Philippine basketball has now overtaken Chinese basketball. U bet China would like to bounce back & get back at us as soon as possible. We must be prepared for that.

We need to beat New Zealand not just because beating them will boost our chances to make it to the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup (and also having a good record in the qualifiers would place us in the better seedings for the tournament proper), but its also a matter pride for Philippine basketball beating NZ. Remember, we haven't beaten New Zealand for a looooooooooooooong time now.

But again, he delivers more than tab Baldwin.. and Tim cone is more valuable option because he is love by anyone in every single basketball community... The more they doubt CTC capabilities, the more CTC delivers...

CTC is a qualified coach and is supported by Chua for obvious reasons.

There are a fuckton of good coaches that would love to handle our NT but as long as sumasawsaw etong sila Chua, it’s pointless.

As I’ve said before, excluding Australia and NZ, China will continue to be a top contender in Asia because:

(1) Their billion plus population is guaranteed to produce 100 players standing 6’7+ every generation.

(2) Their basketball infrastructure is already established.

(3) Strong youth programs

Underestimating China is a foolish mistake. They should never be written off.

Wala na tayo magagawa dun... Al Chua is evil version of Loul Deng as GM... Atleast we are safe under Tim cone... I'm sure CTC will not let us down...Wag lang manggulo si Chua for our national team..

No one underestimate China... But what we should remind to ourselves is we should not underestimate every teams.. some of them have good resources in their basketball program today unlike before...they can improve their national team with their huge resources..

on a personal note, I would like to beat the Tall Black on any given opportunity

and somehow close the gap as far as "head to head" are concern

our lads was recently beaten by theirs

so hopefully our Seniors will do that "Avenge storyline" on November window

if we can beat Latvia without Edu and Scottie I think there's a pretty good chance

This I say, if Gilas will have a complete roster in next year's FIBA Asia Cup, with several key players healthy & available - Kai, Brownlee, Dwight, Iskati, Newsome, AJ Edu, Malonzo, Junmar & the team be given at least 1 month of full time training plus a good No. of tune-up games (5 to 6 tune up games), I'm confident we have a good chance to win the gold.

an 85 to 90 percent game fit on those two would be fair enough on that particular Nov window

for me less expectation for now

I think Mason Amos will again fill-up the slacks on the injured Jamie

Are Amos and Quiambao available for November window? UAAP season is still on going that time...

Amos — Yes; he’s redshirting.

Quiambao — Depends on La Salle and the UAAP. It’s only two games, so maybe they can give some leeway?

Sir Giannis,

I don't think there would be a big problem about KQ's availability on Nov. considering he is part of the final 12 as per CTC

unless there's another document on DLSU if particular window games coincides with UAAP, that's another story

hopefully no untowards things will happen to the dude, he deserve to be in that Nov window.

Well, if KQ will be unavailable in November then that's fine... We have players in the current roster can replace him....
