Why is it even a question,Jong should always be the plug in HC whenever the HC is not around,he doesn't deviate from plans and schematics of the HC and the thing about Jong is when he design his offense and defense, ist always what type of players he has, sure there's a drawback on that but,you gotta work with what you got with a strong offense as possible.Plua the fact the Pinoy commentators will always mentioned Jong's pretty eyes whenever they have a closeups.

And on the plus side, Jong can work with both PBA players and non-PBA guys. He has worked with the younger players in Japan and SoKor before, and he's a longtime PBA coach.

However, he did come off heart surgery in 2022.

I believed he's fully recovered, there were videos of him during practice explaining and running plays with the players and even participated in their halfcourt shots.

still not convinced Jong will be HC, mind you hes probably one of the best locally but dealing with personnel management coordination with stakeholders fans etc to be in the direct firing line instead of someone on the sides, I dont think Jong would want that in his condition

Who? Is she even involved in local basketball tournaments?

former ADMU Womens player, former coach of Ateneo womens team and another school that I cant remember, events director of the WC in Manila, part of the legal council of Fiba, asst director (i think) of ADMU's athletic dept. i remember her mostly as the crush ng bayan on the court during her playing years. fans from other school wtach the womens games for her. i cant remember if she and DLSU manalo twins played against each other.

Played for Zobel in HS. She also has a US law degree and took master's there that is sports related. Corporate + basketball experience.

I think when she played, girls still didn't even get scholarships. Hopefully that makes her value and put emphasis on grassroots development and support.

I hope the new Executive Director must implement something that could benefit and improve our basketball landscape with a genuine grassroot program as well as convincing some stakeholders from the PBA and other entities to establish that much awaited 5v5 Womens Professional League in the country, being a former varsitarian itself, she must be aware where she came from.

I think less marketing/corporate vibes in promoting the sports in the country must be the agenda nowadays.

i hope so too. but, if you go to the FIBA website and look at the legal commission, Erika is the chair (till 2027 iirc). im pretty sure SBP got her to have someone fighting for us when we request for exemption in addition to whatever the ED job description is.

Sir C2,

I hope before her Chairmanship ended on 2027, exemptions request on the likes of Ak34, Kai B., Koon, Lucero, Datu, BGR, Perkins, Laput, Motor Mike and Villegas may somehow got a favorable outcome..the likes of 16 yr. old JJ Mandaquit(USA U16) and hopefully 17 yr. old Dylan Harper(USA U18) may be included as well if there's a chance....as per Sir Dave, the budget of our NSA are very much competitive compared to those in the higher rankings, it might as well use the TF of JC and Kaiju to those players that I've mentioned if ever there's an administrative fee as per FIBA's rules and regulation on exemption and change of allegiances before the window age of 23 yrs. old.

Jordan Heading playing for Strong Group in an upcoming international tournament in Dubai could mean another good Gilas prospect in the upcoming Asia Cup window in February. I think Heading would be serviceable for Gilas based on his performance with Gilas in 2021 under coach Tab.

BTW, I just wonder why Heading hasn't played for any B-league team this season? No more takers? I think he played fairly good last season with his team in Japan.

We all know it's second division but his season stats last year were decent enough to have him re-signed or attract interest from other B1 teams.

Ange the starter,Gagate is ok,btw how tall is this kid really? They list his height from 6'8 to 6'10,which one is it? How about Konov is he eligible as a local? He should be at least 6'8 to 6'9 by now, good size for PF.Is Balti still gonna be available too?
Seven's 6'8.75" without shoes, according to Enzo Flojo.

As for Konov, he's a local, I think.

he has back injury.. that’s why he missed the world cup and was cut by nagasaki.. dunno now if he has offers... let’s wait till the dubai tournament if he’ll go back to b-league or not..

there's a lot of options for JH, if there is no takers in the B-League(for now), KBL or T1 leagues he can still return to the PBA, be included for in the Feb. window training pool or hopefully for the OQT as well. with that level of skillsets he will still be serviceable for Gilas hopefully until 2027.

There it is the real height without the exageration of vloggers, well that makes two young candidates with size.

I just realized Northport has the deepest and tallest forward rotation in the league.

6'4" Joshua Munzon
6'4" Arvin Tolentino
6'5" Cade Flores
6'6" William Navarro
6'6" Zavier Lucero

This should be a staple in Gilas lineups (and even domestic club and collegiate teams). A 2/3 rotation around this height, with some 6'6" 3-men able to play 4, like Navarro and Lucero.
