Here’s my own personal interpretation of that so-called Protectionism that is very OFF to me..really.
First thing first those Catholic schools especially those from NCAA should re-consider their previous banning on FSA. Instead of bannering the narrative about deprivation of Filipinos chances of occupying a roster spot the main reason why they’ve agreed to implement such thing, they should preach the essence of a religion that there is no color nor ethnicity, no rich nor poor in the eyes of the beholder especially in the worship house where his spirit dwells. And if those Catholic priest(s) preaches what’s on their usual homily that schools on its entirety are almost considered as a worship house wherein it’s not only teaches the knowledge of the earth but also the knowledge of the scripture. And sports, even though it’s not literally in the writings in the holy scripture but the wisdom and the essence of encouraging all the children of the beholder to be involve in physical activities to make once body(considered as a spiritual temple) to be mentally, spiritually and physically strong and healthy and develop fair play are all in the holy scripture. I think if only those modern day Padre Damaso and Padre Salvi practices what’s on their usual homily then that restriction on FSA should not be implemented after all.
