Speaking of Wright, he is actually shooting really well in Japan rt now. Shooting at almost 40% from 3, I wonder what changed for him??
The average b league defender is worse than the average pba defender

I just wonder, what if the PBA would just adopt the FIBA rules on fouls/contact? Does these good PBA people think that calling fouls or contacts in the PBA game same as the way calls are made in the FIBA game will take away some excitement from the PBA game?
I wanna ask this question becoz everytime nalang that we have a No. of PBA players in our national team such players struggle to adjust with the way calls on foul & contact are done in the FIBA game. We can see that almost everytime a PBA national team player is assessed with a foul U can see from the facial expression of player na parang naso surprise sya or nagwa wonder about the call. Everytime we send a PBA-select national team in FIBA competitions or Asian Games, our team commits too many fouls.
On the other hand our all-amateur Gilas team handled by coach Tab Baldwin in 2021 seems to have no trouble adjusting to how calls on fouls are done in the FIBA game.
It may look like a minor difference (PBA rules on fouls/contacts compared to that of FIBA) but in reality, it has a significant impact on national team.

I think applying the FIBA rules on fouls/contacts in the PBA would bring more pros than cons for Philippine basketball.
TNT to bring in Serbian coach Gorunovic

In that article, Chot also said that Gorunovic will also help out with Gilas, give them another point of view.
Hope he stays on after the WC, and helps out in player development as well, both in the senior and youth levels of Gilas.
It seems China will use FIBA eligibility for Asian Games, not the previous one that Indonesia used in 2018... Well, It's China and they can do whatever they want.. So it means it's likely that no FIBA ineligible players for this edition of Asiad.. China wants to defend the gold medal, that's why they will take advantage what they have as always...

Expect China to cheat again when they defend their medal.
Tabs vision was we didnt need to be real tall. He wanted switchable versatile guys. Maybe similar to his NZ guys with only Kouame or similar player or even with Kai. I think this makes sense since even now 6'9 and up guys are rare for us.

I'm much more interested about how a Gilas pool would look like in the post-2023 FIBA World Cup than in the 2023 FIBA World Cup per se. Its becoz we already have a good idea of which players would most likely make it to the final-12 man roster for the World Cup. Of course names such as Kai, Dwight Ramos, Iskati, Parks, Japeth, Fajardo, Clarkson, CJ Perez are the most likely players that would make it to the 12-man roster. Alam na talaga natin that those players will most likely make it to the World Cup.
But for the post-World Cup Gilas composition, medyo its still a guessing game. Most likely guys like Japeth, Junmar & Pogoy won't be around for Gilas by that time.
With how unpredictable things are nowadays, I don't really want to think about post-2023 WC until the actual post-2023 WC. Too many X-factors and idiotic people running our federation.

Question if the Bay Area Chinese forward (around 6'8) was Filipino, would he be at the level to play for Gilas , given our lack of size mobility at the forward spot
Yeah, I think he will be. An athletic 6'9" combo forward who can shoot, drive, and defend at a good level will (and should) have a place in Gilas.
I can't believe our development system hasn't totally figured this out.

Hayden blankley? Aussie chinese..
I think he was referring to Zhu Songwei.
