Mike , (yes may be a big move), but I feel as 2023 is the goal, and we have limited time with those not in special draft or currently Ateneo UAAP. For the Asia cup I would like to give those who we have limited borrowed time as much exposure to Tab and FIBA. It's also between RJ and SJ, I would have Matt if healthy replace SJ.

Also by adding Thridy, it relieves the pressure from Dwight to play some SG , and he can help quarterback more


Oops in this scenario no.more suerte. Originally I had Suerte for Geo.. but with thirdy and Matt added, I feel another SG is redundant..so just me get an active body like Lopez, also in the context of the weaker Asian teams , Lopez can help inside..

Of course this is just my preference alone

for 2023, i can see lopez in d final 12 (still a long shot for me but still).

but for d asia cup, with no clarkson, another sniper like suerte is critical.

Gilas might get Aj and Clarkson for next year's Asian Games,that would be a preview of what is the final form of the team that Tab wants for 2023.

I won't cut Navarro for Kobe. Navarro's numbers may not be impressive in the stats sheet but he is the team's "Mr. Intangible"

I'll take Kobe over Navarro on this one,they need more offense at any given point and Kobe will be highly motivated to show his improvement and he's not bad on defense,if anything his blocks looks disrespecting enough to disuade a player to drive within his area of defense.This time also he gets to play at 3 and possible even 2 is some plays if Tab wants to go really big.

But at the expense of Kuoame....Ako I'll wait na for Fiba World Cup to ask Kuoame's Exemption and have Clarkson as NP...You see it's easier to ask concession from Fiba being the Host... Syempre Fiba won't like the host to be outclassed and routed, besides Di insecure ang World Cup teams compared SA Asian teams, I mean Serbia, USA won't care if maging local si Kuoame....But Asian teams especially China will make a fuss out of it

For sniper role though Bulanadi the better shooter is fully healed already ..I think think though that Heading is still the better shooter than the two...Kita naman game stats against Korea, China, and in Belgrade ...He scored double figures in those game with limited touches pa Yan ...Same can be said of Suerte at this stage in terms of consistency.

Crucial here if PBA will allow some of their players to play in FIBA Asia next month.. Let's see on July 20 - 25 who will be the players.. For sure the locks are Ange, Kai (If Adelaide allows him), Ramos (If his injury heals on time), Tamayo (If allow by UP again), Baltazar (If Delta/DLSU allow again), Navarro and Heading.. The rest will be depending who are doing good in practice, by match ups and health of the players... Also crucial who are our opponent in the preliminary round.. Because coach Tab will depend the line up he will create on the match up Gilas will face...

Not yet sold on Tamayo though...Still sort of a Twinnwr, too slow as SF and still weak physically as PF...Now we have the 6 you mentioned as shoo in for Fiba Asia, immediate need will be Veteran PG presence, Another Bigs Slasher physical defender and 3 and D guy....That Veteran PG should be Kiefer , Physical defender /slasher should be Thirdy, 3 and D guy that would be Tuffin if Di pwede si Tuffin , I'll go for Oftana and for the Big if Long hair will allow Junmar if not Almazan would be more realistic, he will be an upgrade of Go, Chui and Tamayo at PF..Two remaining slots would be anyone among Tamayo , Matt , Juan GDL, Suerte, Bulanadi and Lopez..Lineup would be Ange and Kai at Center, Almazan and Balti at 4, Navarro and Tuffin at 3, Ramos Thirdy and Heading at SG, Kiefer at PG....The last two if it is up to me, would be Tamayo as insurance Big and Matt or Juan as another PG.

For an exception decision to be plausible it has to happen before the world cup, why ? The world cup is the qualifier for the sole Asia Olympics spot for 2024. Asian teams (not ANZ) especially China will vemently complain, if an exemption is given , especially for Clarkson, who has no residency or domestic play.

Don't be surprise if a decision has already been made on this
But hasn't been announced or applied yet

Hypothetical question what if SBP decided to have the reset and rebuilding earlier and have Tab handle the 2019 World Cup preparations and Coaching, and granting same players as World Cup team , would the 2019 WC team would have fared better than the 2021 OQT team.Assuming Tab won't have the free hand and he handle the WC team( Blatche, Junmar, Japhet, Almazan, Rosario, Norwood, Pogoy , Perez, Lee,Bollick, Kiefer and Barroca) with around 1-2 Months of weekly practice and 10 days training camp would that team would have fared better than the 0-5 performance ...I think if Tab handled that team, ( he won't chose Barroca as PG, and Kiefer who just came out of Suspension- in.place would have been Thirdy and Ramos) Gilas could have won against Angola in the group Stage (would have been the Top Asian Team and made Olympics). I feel like we could have beaten Tunisia and Iran with that lineup ....

Now on the other hand had SBP went all Cadets as early 2019 had PBA Special draft and have Kuoame as NP would a team of Kuoame or (Blatche if Ange was able to be naturalized earlier ), Kai, Baltazar, Go, Ramos, Thirdy, Suerte, Bulanadi, Matt, Juan GDL plus U19World Cuppers Ildefonso, Panopio and Chui would that team fared better than the World Cup team and beat Angola, Tunisia and Iran ?

He is quicker naman like Baltazar , so he won't be drive past by Asian PF(Di naman kabilisan MGA PF Ng China, Korea , Lebanon )
