Matt Nieto, 1GDL, Dalph Panopio, all are in the 6-feet-flat to 6-foot-1 height

Yes, like everybody else got intimidated but in Argentina game he had a good first half and Croatia he forced overtime. You have to remember he was injuried at that time thats why he didn't play in Asian Games and almost didn't played in WC 2014.

He did good on OQT 2016.

The thing is that, we have no way of knowing how a 21-year old Castro would have played against an elite level Asian opponent or a world level opponent. On the other hand we are seeing how a 21-year old RJ Abarrientos play in those level while exhibiting exceptional guts & confidence in his game. Wala tayong nakikitang felling of being intimidated, nerbyos, & jitters in RJ's game. Those things are not taught eh. Its more of a natural trait ng isang tao.

I thought there was a plan of converting Thirdy to a PG in Japan. Did they ever try it? If Thirdy can only be converted to a PG then that would a good solution.

I am not sure about that, SanEn played him mostly at the 2 or even 3 because they have guys who are smaller than him. Playing him at 1 not only solves some of SanEn's problems, it also develops him into a true PG.

They tried playing him at 1 sometimes and usually results in TO

he had very little time training in japan. there was no way he can transition during that period. however, his next stint will allow him to have longer time with the team. so we will see a breakout game of thirdy. hope and pray he stay healthy.

There is a question I am really curious about.

Does SJ and Kai have Grudge to each other???? Lol.

SJ never passed the ball to Kai. Vice Versa. HHa

Now you see the difference between RJ and JC. The reason I immediately squash the analysis of RJ better than JC.

I will say it again , there are levels to individual talent , we are NOT a top 15 nation in the world based on individual talent , for us to be competitive at world stage regardless if we use the best players available (Pros etc) we can not win relying on individual talent we can only level the playing field via team play.

Solano , Nunez and Liz are not NBA players , it goes to show you there are really levels to individual talent

Where is your chemistry beats talent. After one game you go back and say that their is levels to this talent. So the talent level suddenly decrease because of this game. So can Ateneo beat PBA teams now.

Experience and harden thru professional leagues is also needed.thays why PBA players are needed. Even CTB says so.
Thats why 2014 WC was better in terms of handling different teams with different play style.

Someone here mentioned it started at the Batang Gilas time, but I thought it was with the PG with "hair on his face" who plays like SJ dribble, dribble don't look for the open postman chuck a 3.

You're confused, i've been saying this ever since not just after 1 game, the pedigree of available players for a nation is the borometer of talent , not games and certainly not 1 game. Dwight and Heading were NOT, top 250 players when they played for US colleges.

Of course Ateneo can beat PBA local teams especially using FIBA rules, it's already been done, and contiunues to be true.

More matured professionals defintiely will help , no one is saying otherwise. ( certainly not Tab) but these pros don't necesssary have to come from the PBA. Clakrson, Kiefer, Thirdy, Tuffin etc etc , obviously having dwight will help . And yes Kiefer happnens to be in the PBA, but if he's not , it does not matter , it's NOT necessary they have to come from the PBA , they can be matured pros playing elsewhere., that helps, just look at DR, they're matured , but how many of them play in the DR league?

Pero kasi kung 10 days lang ipapahiram ng PBA, eh huwag na lang, it must be long-term like with Chot's team in 2013-14.

I think that they just couldnt see each other with a 6'6 guard guarding SJ

SJ won't be seeing Kai at low post even if its only 5-foot-8 point guard harassing SJ becoz sa ring sya palagi nakatingin:cool: Just kidding

Speaking of a point guard that feeds the big guy in the post well, isn't that one upside in Kiefer's game? I have this feeling that if Kiefer plays with this current Gilas squad, mabubusog ng mga alley opp plays & good passes to the low post sina Kai & Kouame. That alley oop pass by Kiefer to Kai in that short video clip of Gilas practice last February is an indication of what Kiefer can do with our top big guys in Gilas.

okay naman but sj had 10 assist are we sure kiefer will not unleash his mamba side when he is pg ing the team..
Calling a spade a spade whos ethe lead guard of fiba 2019 world cup team...if you really murder thatteam in ibn bakit di yun lead guard simpleng pasa nga lang kay blatch sa top of the key sa angola di pa nagawa

mamba mentality has two types, the black mamba mentality and in pinoy terms mamba bakal mentality:cool:

Analyzed

If we don't have talent then how we keep close to Top 15 competition? Didn't Coach Rajko, Tab and Dickel said we have talent to be competitive? Should thier opinion value more?

When did Ateneo defeated PBA in competitive game with FIBA rules?
