Ok. So where is Michael dela cruz now.
Do all of them now playing in a top league like Kobe now? How many does? Tell me how many players were better than Kobe in that line up.
To be fair you need to complete na whole story. To be fair you need to make sense. Thus it make sense that only Panililio kid was being ods man out. How about the others?

The best ability is availability in some cases.

Some were already questioning his inclusion back then. I was one of the people who defended that move at the time since well I was pro SBP and decided to look the other way even though looking back now it was really a bad move. What was his averages in HS? Was he deemed a high potential player? What made him stand out besides his surname? Did they view him as a future fixture in pur NT? Is he really the best available player at the time? We probably won't know the answer but this will just give more bullets to people who hates Panililio to fire.

Thata wrong for me. Always be fair. Critized the action of the person not the person itself especially not his relatives. Conviction based on association. SBP has alot of this that it should be doing but are nothandling properly. Critized that ok.

No one knows who fill be a college, pro players on that teams. They are u16 by the way.

And if its true nepotism was the only reason, not based on merits then I will also critized it. But show me first evidence, logic and not ilusions.

I saw the Panlilio guy play a few minutes. He looked less skilled and with less motor than the Romero kid. It seemed 6'1 Mike Nieto was our only other big so I was wondering why the taller Panlilio almost never played at all. Of course it was only a few minutes. But ask yourself why he was played only a few minutes when he was the only other big in the team? He probably was not a good player. He was just protected by the blanket statement that the original team deserved to be in the WC because they were part of the team that qualified. But judging from how he barely played in the WC did Panlilio actually do anything to help them qualify?

I guess his father paid for the airfare and stuff so he deserves it. Based on the WC, Panlilio did not deserve a slot. Unless anybody can say that he did help them qualify, I can only conclude thst others deserved his slot more. Dyke in HS was a beast. Kobe I dont know. But Panlilio was really bad. He was useless in the WC.

Based on the lack of replies I would guess that nobody knew for sure how good (or bad he was) before he was selected. Heck did anybody even remember which HS he played for? Quick answer its International School Manila (a powerhouse school?) He's a 5'10 shooting guard which we we have in abundance. But if you look at the stat sheet on the games he played he sucked. And he was irrelevant after that event. If you Google his name all you could probably find is his stint with our youth teams.

The queation is why Kobe didn't play the U16. Is it because of this player. Answer that question.

So, as of now, EASL qualification is as follows:

Mags take the first spot, since TNT cannot qualify for the EASL. If TNT make the finals, 3rd placer (which is in this case Magnolia) takes the spot.

The other EASL spot is between SMB and MERALCO.

Why can't TNT qualify?

Gilas duties (Chot boys automatic part of the pool)

wtf his tnt players are all above 25, mostly near or already 30s. They're not the players we need to expose in international games for some good old "learning process"

The only FIBA-fit players on that team are Castro and Mikey (NP). MGR sana, but he hasn't evolved his game (partly thanks to spending too much time on the SMB bench). Tungcab, we have better guards, although more exposure and development sana..

I'd like to see chot play 5-out but i'm afraid he'll be deluded enough to use Clarkson at 5 lol

The issue is an official snuck his son (who is a likely below average player) in the final lineup.

Thats not the issue. The issue is accusing people without evidence and worst no logic.

that’s actually the issue from the get go all the way from romero issue..

see told you, some people here got the issue about that..

give evidence that the insertion of romero and panlilio kid is not nepotism.. over the heralded players..

heard from sir enzo that the line up we have last u16 is not unanimous one..

it isn’t obvious? navarro did well in try outs for the u17 team.. navarro and kobe can easily replace panlilio and the other one.. we lack height on that team..

Come on even you could smell the BS. Do you really believe that Panlilio JR deserved his spot? He is so bad and out of place that nobody even knows how bad he sucked pre U16. No logic? Nepotism still exists within SBP till this day.

“Do we need a law na dapat priority ang national team? Kahit anong laro o schedule, dapat priority. Superceded ang mga contracts nila at mauna yung bansa.”

trans: interesting

The Senate is addressing this issue as ” fans have clamored that the team receives more support in order to improve the team’s performance in international competitions.”

The upper chamber is also looking to revisit existing laws regarding national teams and the protection of Filipino athletes
