Well they needed a punching bag to take the heat off from them and Chot is the perfect guy. Heck he probably enjoys it. It didn't hurt that Chot can somewhat coach and is a very good tuta.
I'm incline to believed,that there's some pesos and centavos passed down to ease his "pain and suffering".Plus the fact that Jr is coaching at all the Youth teams packaged deal too.

Politic beliefs? Anti Vax? I dont think those are the reasons. I still think he advocates exploring ones opportunities beyond the PBA. Among the 2021 squad, let see who went abroad and or have signed to play outside : Ramos, Balti, Heading, Javi ( since returned), RJ, SJ, Will... that's 7 out of the 12. and that's not counting Lopez who is supposed to go pro via OTE, Thirdy who played in the Jordan tour, and Carino, 1GDL and Kobe who were part of the pool at one point. Kai and Ange are different stories.
Tab's prodding probably doesnt sit well with Dinosaur Vargas and probably with MVP himself. and the PBA board for that matter. Al being a yes man, of course will follow suit.

Chot assigned Nenad to handle the 3rd Window while he was busy with TNT. So why couldn't SBP just let Tab assign Chot in the February window then return as HC for the 3rd?
Just look at the ACQ. Dickel and Jong handled the first two windows while Tab eventually took over in the final window. What's wrong with that setup? We were able to get Dwight, Thirdy, Ange, and Will for that WCQ February window, so we were more than capable of continuing the Tab's program even with TNT reinforcements. Let Chot handle it as a one-time thing and then Tab can be back on job by June/July.

Why Chot? He little to none knowledge of Tab's system implemented before he was ousted... Why Tab not appoint someone on his assistants to coach that February window... Fernandez, Uichico or Garcia can do interim coaching basis with Nenad as their consultant
Because of TNT reinforcements. PBA isn't going to like the idea of lending TNT players under a non-MVP entity like Nenad

Honestly, we have to be focused on finding a defensive coordinator, because Chot didn't adjust on defense in the SEA Games and in the Asia Cup. Supposedly, si Nenad 'yun, I dunno what happened there.
Names I can come up with are Norman Black, Chito Victolero, and Goldwin Monteverde, who all managed good defensive teams.

i might be in the minority on this, but i think fans are overthinking CTB's role on all of this. for me, he is being used as a scape goat.
i maintain my position since Feb when the news broke out. SBP has always wanted PBA to be the face of the Philippine basketball in the international stage. if CCR leaves for whatever reason on whatever fashion, expect a PBA coach to take over. Coach Tim is already in the shadows. I dont think SBP will use him and let SMC, if rumors are true, to do that next year.
even all the excuses around learning experience, its just conditioning fans that using PBA is the way to be. whats the latest news aside from Clarkson? lots of filam all of a sudden has green light? they could just start training camp and let news leak who's who in there but amid the aftermath noise of the Asia Cup, labas agad ng news to distract what happened.
I prefer CTB over CCR and even over CNV, but at this point in time, a plan for the windows until the WC is a much better news from SBP rather than just replacing the coach. doesnt matter who they put anyway, aide from Aug window, player availability will be a problem.

Wasn’t it the SBP’s responsibility to ensure the player pool was available? Aren’t they the ones who do the talking to the stakeholders like the PBA and UAAP/NCAA?
Also, in an interview a couple of days ago, Choke Reyes was saying words as if to insinuate that coach Tab decided to quit Gilas head coaching job becoz many of his young Gilas players are no longer available for national team duty as most of them are now playing in overseas pro leagues, in particular the B-league in Japan. Look at how terrible a liar this idiot Choke Reyes is! How can Choke said that when B-league Gilas players like Dwight Ramos & Thirdy Ravena were able to play in the 2nd & 3rd windows?
Of course there are a No. of Gilas players who were not available in the 2nd window like Tamayo, Baltazar, Dave Ildefonso, RJ Abarrientos, Ange Kouame, SJ Belangel, but that's becoz those players were playing in the UAAP at that time. In no way that those players have expressed that they no longer wanted to play for Gilas anymore. As we can see, Tamayo, Abarrientos, Belangel, played in the 3rd window & the recent Asia Cup. Kouame & Ildefonso could have played but they were injured. And as we have seen, Thirdy & brother Kiefer played in both the 3rd window & Asia Cup. Dwight Ramos played in the 3rd window but got injured so was absent in the Asia Cup. So who says those players no longer wanted to play for Gilas?

That's why i'm telling here that SBP is the real problem here... biktima lang talaga si Chot, He wants to resign pala then they reject it... San utak tong si Panlilio? They putting Chot as their Toy machine na ginagawa nilang laruan.... Chot is already happy as only TNT head coach w/o any pressure.... He's the one that should be out in SBP... Minalas Gilas when he was tapped as SBP chairman since 2016 (or 2017), no more good achievements aside that SEAG gold medal when he was in the position....
