Yup bro.
This is to demonstrate the importance of familiarity with the coach' system & cohesion:

There's no way a team with 2-week preparation which starts from scratch would be able to play/operate like this. This illustrates the value of familiarity with the system as well as how important smart/clever or players with high understand of the game are.

I watched both those videos. This YouTuber makes very good breakdowns.

To get to that level, a lot of practice and training is needed for it to become muscle memory, and to achieve that, it takes a lot of time. Question is, will the PBA make the necessary sacrifices to raise its standing with the fans?

Watching those videos made me realize how difficult & highly complex playing defense is in a competitive level basketball. In the switches for instances, which of course is rampant in the FIBA game as a result of those several picks that the offensive team is doing, its not as simple as basta ka na lang magsi switch at basta mo na lang iiwan yung tao mo. Becoz as you make the switch & you leave your man to pick up another, baka walang kukuha doon sa tao mo at malilibre yun. Hence, situational awareness & communication with your teammates are a must. Yung situational awareness, its more of an innate skill, but communication requires cohesion & chemistry which are achieved thru playing together for a considerable period.

I think the common misconception is that sa offense lang talaga kailangan yung teamwork. In reality, defense requires teamwork as much as offense does.

Probably not, sacrifice na para sa kanila nila yung magpahiram ng players. Money still talks, unless the league gets some sort of compensation don't expect anything much than before. Kaya they don't like Baldwin in general since they can't handle his honest and upfront assessment on the state of the national team and ph basketball in general.

Snow rumor: https://twitter.com/snowbadua/status/1409087657053806596

"Kuliglig told me that majority of Gilas Pilipinas players are being eyed by Japan B. League teams."

this is really good news. surely balti will be one of them. hope DLSU release him to play for japan. this is the best part when you play for gilas and your team turn heads, you will get noticed. now its the young guns can play. i even think Abarrientos can play in BJ League Div 2. as young as he is, i think he can do it.

Will KBL get Filipino imports?

Nakita ko yung show nila, their top scoring SG Lee Hyunjung is "Asia's most promising star" daw :D

Siyempre iaangat na nila ang sariling kanila. I think he did well enough in his last 2 games vs Gilas though. Hit the game-tying shot in Game 1 and was on fire in Game 2.

I totally agree. Chemistry is important when you're trying to implement a system on both ends. I don't think we would have the performance we had on both ends against SoKor if we didn't have enough chemistry. Our guys wouldn't know where to rotate, or where to position themselves on offense, or when and to whom to pass.

This is why I'm advocating for the PBA to either pause the season or release the called-up players at least 60-70 days before a FIBA tournament proper, or at least 14-20 days before a FIBA window.

If PBA is really that sincere in lending a No. of its players fkr Gilas, then it has to make some sacrifice.

This for me is the more feasible solution to augment the current Gilas squad with some PBA players without messing up what is already an established chemistry or cohesion our current Gilas team have at present:

Get only 3 PBA players as reinforcement, & that's it. My choices for those 3 players are Kiefer, Pogoy & Wright. Since Kiefer & Pogoy had already trained with Gilas before, then they already have some degree of familiarity with Tab-s system.

Give those 3 PBA players at least 3 weeks to train with Gilas in the 2021 Asia Cup in August. Then in the 1st window of the 2023 World Cup qualifiers, release those 3 players from their respective PBA teams 10 days prior to that window in November (Remember that we really don't need to always win in this qualifiers becoz we got outright qualification being one of the hosts). Then during the PBA off season, allow Kiefer & company to train with Gilas for about 3 weeks.

So this would be the set up for every qualifying window of 2023 World Cup & the PBA off season leading to the 2023 World Cup. Then prior to the 2023 World Cup, Kiefer & company should train for at least 1 month.

Which if we sum it up, the total period Kiefer, Pogoy & Wright train with Gilas prior to the 2023 World Cup would be at least 4 months. I think that is sufficient enough period for Kiefer & company.

PBA needs to make some sacrifice naman for the success of Gilas.

And it will benefit the PBA and PH basketball long-term. If Gilas performs well internationally on a consistent basis especially at the world level, not only our local players will get the chance to take their talents overseas, more and more better players from overseas will come over to the PBA to play, hindi yung puro latak na import na lang palagi ang nakukuha nila. Once our overseas Filipino players' primes are over, they can come over to the PBA to share what they have learned from overseas leagues, be it plays, strategies, or tactics.

When all of that happens consistently over time, our local players and coaches will only get better from it due to the increased level of competition. They like to complain that foreign players will be taking their jobs, so what should they do? GIT GUD, simple as that.

Same thing when ph media/some ibmers are hyping kai as asia’s best center

No issue with them hyping their own kid up. It's just that I watch their basketball shows regularly (they even have this 4 team tournament ala Crispa vs Toyota alumni complete with production value and everything), and before this new episode grabe sila makatanong about the just-held tournament. They claimed they were looking ahead daw, among other things. That's why it's funny to me now that there's no update from them about the games. In comparison, every time Gilas loses, the media on our part keeps looking for holes and juicy rumors.

Not saying we're better or anything of that sort. Karma lang kumbaga.

tbh, he actually is. very good wing shooter.

He honestly looks like it. He played big in the first game against us. Plus, he's doing well in the US NCAA.

Hopefully, we get someone that can contend for 'Asia's most promising star.'

While Lee Hyun Jung is good, not as promising as Chikara Tanaka. That's who I would say is 'Asia's most promising star.'

That guy...hes's something.. may it factor, but we will not see him in u19 this July

for me its LHJ. very good shooter. if all of SK bigs played, they would create space for him to shoot on the outside.

the only big that is missing is Kim Jong kyu tagal nang di naglalaro ni oh

i stand corrected.not only big but i think they are missing that PF dude that is also good. forgot his name. i think they are missing 2 pf or was it sf.

Choi is the original starting sf of korea yu pinalita ni kim jong hyun.. the korea that they send in clark is the best team they have sans the superstar point guard son of hur jae, Kim jong kyu and the Song guy
