Philippines Senior National Team Thread Vol. V

This Korea vs Gilas invitation game is really backfiring on the PBA. I think the PBA thought that with little preparation time, no Kai, limited number of players, playing against home court Korea advantage, the young Gilas will suffer a humiliating defeat which will prove that PBA players and coaches will be the only solution and savior for Philippine basketball. Kaso, this young Gilas team fared well in their first game. This is now a big problem for the PBA and its cronies at the SBP.

It's also therapeutic to CCR as he probably suffered from PTSD when korea shell-shocked gilas with a 32 point blowout last 2017. So, avoiding Korea is good for his mental health.

Game 2's later, 6pm.

Will overlap with Batang Gilas again, and it is also against Sokor. Gilas seniors got figured out in 2nd half, if dribble dribble offense specialist is coaching l would be worried that we'd get bludgeoned to submission for the entirety of game 2, but since its coach Nenad I'm positive that he can make adjustments.

SJ + RJ at the latter half of 1Q haha, well no choice no other SG on the lineup. fast pace UAAP-ish for our 2nd 5, but the lack of ceiling really hurts us. Will Navarro should be a 3, Quiambao 4, maybe Lopez as 2, if Ange was not injured

It's quite amazing how we're keeping in step of Korea despite missing a ton of tall key players. SK is parading Cardo and we're getting outrebounded badly, it's just our execution is doing us wonders here.

Somebody needs to teach Lopez how to land properly. He's getting hurt quite often jumping

Lopez injury forced the navarro at 3, Quiambao at 4 and Chiu at 5, which is not bad.

Chiu being picked on, called for non-contact fouls. Quiambao back at 5 (donut defense) and now Korea closed in on the lead.

abando is a remarkable shooter like heading. he's definitely a final 12 candidate for the wc

Could Abando be more of a natural SG and dynamic scorer compared to Thirdy, it certainly looks like it

SJ + RJ + Abando backcourt experiment works for couple of possession there. Last play no-play even worked, but turns out Nenad called a timeout haha, which then on actual play caused a Dwight TO and lead of PHI down to 6.
