Cabagnot is more affiliated with UP than UST so far, but yeah, maybe he can supply Boss Al with Fil-Ams as well.

The incoming NBTC Global Games is the best opportunity to scout some prospects moving forward.

i don't find her attractive. like at all. as for the mom, i'd settle for sloppy seconds after a backstreet boys rave party. ina was pre-teen me's dream girl haha.

SMC coaches and staffs systems works well in PBA setting but not on FIBA games which is more complicated. We will be back to dark age of basketball of its SMC. That NCC was under Danding. And a foreigner, Ron Jacobs, coached that team and established a coaching tree, most notably Jong.

I dunno if Boss Al is as open to foreigners as Danding was.

And the BCAP had a Supreme Court decision go in their favor when they had the Secretary of Labor and Employment cancel Tim Cone's alien employment permit. The ground for cancellation was that there was no showing that there is no person in the Philippines who is competent, able and willing to perform the services required nor that Cone's hiring would redound to the national interest.

So, now, with the present quality of Filipino coaches, are there Filipino coaches that are competent, able and willing to perform as Gilas coach or PBA coach for that matter?

SMC under Al Chua has a strong nativist streak. His asociation with BCAP and its opposition to foreign coaches. His rebuttal on Tabs comment. Kots Leo saying he doesnt like Asian imports because it takes away local slots. His tenure gives us a hint that he doesnt like foreign coaching and foreign influence to improve local basketball. Unfortunately, it seems RSA doesnt know much about basketball. He doesnt mind how Al does things as long as it gives his teams wins. Never mind the trades. Sagip kapatid, sagip ng farm team and egregiously biased calls, at least during SMBs streak, are ruining the league. RSA is not aware of that I think. But hopefully he knows international ball is a different animal. Al is an operator and people person at best. His coaching track record shows he is not that good. RSA should know he has to surround himself with international basketball experts if he is to take this on.
 
Not really, it depends on who he is serving, what is sure that you want him to be on your side or he will treat his allies right

He serves on the liking of RSA, unlike Pogi who is a maverick Chua is your traditional yes guy, it might be a bad thing or a good thing..
 
imma wait how this unfolds. for all that LH has done, it was clearly to protect his interest or the interest of whatever team\organization is in. IF|ONCE he is part of SBP, then the narrative may change if only to help him when what he needs to do.i think he wont give up every stand he took, but im guessing he will give some lee ways specially if it would be advantageous to him.

still dont like him even if i never met him.

Oftana has been performing well with NLEX so far. I think he could use another Gilas call-up. Give him reps in the windows as a 3. I think he's kind of skilled at 3 so that Chot won't have to bring in another guard at that spot, and he can defend the perimeter.

Plus, it's good to have some more tall options at the wing.

I agree with most of you guys' sentiments about the very possible SMC takeover of SBP. It's kind of unthinkable for me too at this point, after all the roller coaster rides we had with MPIC-backed campaigns in the last 13 years. But I'm curious to see too how SMC would fare. And what's lost in all these, even if it's somewhat trivial, what's going to be the NT's nickname from then on? I see the Gilas monicker getting dropped as it's too associated with the rival empire. Suggestions, anyone?

That is why SBP must fix there acts together, stop nepotism and giving special favors or else the monster SMC will come out and it might become a dark ages again for Pilipinas basketball.

NCC was properly handled and that time they really know the importance of foregn coach. Chua is a scary monster from smc, he is not aware of modern international basketball, he is more of a PR person, and he does not have good relationship with Coach tab. Chua is very critical against foreign coach in national team ,he is a bcap supporter who is anti foreign coach and consultant, and what scares me is he will assign one dimentional coaching Austria as one of the coach, mister asa kay Kraken.
