Philippine PBA Trades, Releases, Sign-ups, Rumours (vol. III)

Sound unethical but the PBA can gain new viewers going the showbiz route

In an interview with OneSports, Rain Or Shine ElastoPainters's Caelan Tiongson was asked about BINI Aiah, amid ongoing dating rumors linking the two romantically.
"I met her through a mutual friend, and she's a great person, but I'm not gonna speak on her personal life," Caelan said.
Caelan and Aiah are churchmates, and the basketball player mentioned that he loves BINI and their music. In another interview with vlogger OtitsTonio last December, Caelan also said his bias in BINI is Aiah.
Pinoys praised Caelan for respecting Aiah's privacy, saying fans should prioritize their idols' well-being over intrusive curiosity.
"It's great that celebrities are now keeping their private lives away from public eyes. They're getting paid to perform and make good music, selling their private lives are not part of their contracts," one netizen said.

Caelan is trying to be conservative with his answers. It looks like he got a heads-up from Aiah to answer the press questions discreetly

I have a feeling Northport might be Available if the price is right, thats the better franchise to buy right now. RSA has already mentioned how expensive SMC's basketball expenses are, they still technically have Magnolia left (sorry magnolia fans)

True... They have the core already.. if new franchise will handle Northport, they can just re-sign Slaughter and that core of Tolentino, Munzon, Navarro, Jalalon and Slaughter might be a title contenders in a serious owner, plus they have Flores, Nelle, Yu and Bulanadi off the bench... Even top teams such as Ginebra, smb and TNT will have a hard time against this core...

Man at this point they should just try buying the Blackwater.

So there will be no farm team already, unless Northport does its usual bullshit of tradings its competitive players

All farm teams should be gone.. they are the killers of PBA, reason why the league is dying now...

league will never die unless SMC and to a lesser extent, TNT pulls the plug, it was never about the income anyway (PBA is just a big tax write-off) , but they could have earned money if they tried.

Been seeing a lot of death threats against tiongson at facebook and x/twitter

Yikes. I'm convinced a lot of these people have mental illnesses by the way they post in Socmed. I dunno why they / encourage such behaviors. Feels like their in a cult.

Death threats are common in pop industry, these things tend to happen when Idols got into a relationship, then fantards would get hurt thinking they had a chance to be with their idols, its either that or they are living on their own fantasy.

Too bad this kind of things got into basketball.

Though infairness, Aiah seems she does not give a fuck with how she making the fantards crazy lol. She must really like Caelan, though the age gap is crazy for now.

What's crazy about the 8-9 year gap? If guys like Dolphy and Vic Sotto can have Zsa Zsa and Pauleen, respectively, why not Tiongson?

This is a bit outside basketball but I think that the PBA should take some notes here.

I said for now. Obviously, an early 20s to 30s age gap ratio is a lot harder to grasp than a 30s to 40s age gap.

20s are still considered young adult, I don't have really problem with it, it is their life anyway lol.

Also, it is obvious that Vic and Dolphy situation are far from Caelan, those are just straight up pedophiles, xd.

reminds me tuloy of benjie paras and jackie forster, jackie was only 14 when they started dating , benjie was already in his mid 20s

Man I thought caelan is only in his mid 20s, totally forgot the part that he played in the abl for long time

Right, a 25-year-old dating a 14-year-old is a lot different than a 45-year-old dating a 34-year-old, despite having the same age gap. I think a 35-year-old dating a 24-year-old is still valid, but it would be more normal to see it if both were 10 years older, like in the 40s dating 30s.

Hence why I was saying for now on the previous comment.

well, well well..

nature is just doing it's natural process

as the old saying goes "Old cow prefers eating newly sprouted young grass and drinks freshly sweet newly extracted mountain waters".

we can only envy Caelan in some way, even though majority of the modern day Filipinos are mixed but his American, Visayan and Chinese genes are really kickin'

compared to the typical us, our Malay bloodline are very overwhelming....hehehe mamamatay sila sa inggit trans. jealousy and envy has no place on earth.

just clowning around on this.

seriously now. 33 yr. old two-way do it all SF 6'4 Caelan Tiongson is a perfect fit for Gilas

but unfortunately he is ineligible and age is an onion.

a Rudy Hatfield proto type with a hard nose defense and rebounder but Caelan has more range up to the 3-Pt. line

that really fits the bill on the Gilas program.

imagine a younger version of a 6'6 Hatfield, 6'7 Belasco, 6'8 Abuda, 6'8 Alvarado and 6'9 Menk manning the frontline

that should be the aspiration moving forward.

it is abit bittersweet BJ that when we finally start seeing some excellent fil-for prospects is when the hagop rule has fully closed the door on them. Gabe Noywood and hell maybe even Alapag wont be able to play for the NT if the Hagop rule existed before.

I think noise like this is beneficial moving forward

because the merits are strong and SBP/PBA should open it's ears on such a strong clamor.

majority of the Basketball fans nowadays are well educated on the playbook

and that's the essence and wisdom of that particular provision "Local Development".

https://www.spin.ph/basketball/fiba...a-as-a-local-a5019-20250307?ref=home_hybrid_1

This is just air. It would be nice. But he isnt even allowed to play as a local in our country. Why would foreigners exempt him?

Ideally we start with allowing Brownlee to play as a local, he already has garnered enough good will for fans to not bat an eye. Then it opens the floodgates for Ange then we extend it to FSAs that are willing to undergo ph citizenship. Or honestly not even if they want to, having FSAs play as locals instantly increases the level of play at the center spot. Helps with team parity (though who am I kidding) and of course widens the Gilas pool

What has PBA got to lose anyway

Yeah, the bigger FSA's like Ange and Malick Diouf provide rim protection, something that the PBA doesn't have much of. Also, it can push the more quality smaller bigs to the 4 (which our better bigs should be learning anyway).
