3rd year seeing his name in mock drafts. Anyway, with QMB, Chiu and Lane, this pool has three legit bigs reminiscent of 2013 draft with Slaughter, Almazan and Sanggalang.

DJ Fenner is a better fit in my opinion if they're looking for a 3/4.

Koon is strictly a guard imo. Tuffin is a better swap option for them if they are gonna trade Schonny. Stockton, Heading and Tuffin can play together without sacrificing height.

Yes they don't have a tall SF but their guards are pretty tally and are two way players. Alec is the best two way PG in the league. Heading is arguably G league level in terms of over-all skill. Winston is not the playmaker Alec and Heading are but he can make basic reads and is good defender as well. When your backcourt are 3 players at around 6'1 and 6'2 that are both good offensive and defensive players that is pretty solid in the PBA. In the last game they helped out their bigs by challenging the 20 rebound average import of NLEX on the boards and it worked.

Time will tell if the tall SF spot will be a weakness defensively. But IMO currently having a Schonny Winston as your 3rd best guard is better than getting a tall SF who won't be as good offensively.

any thoughts on the comments of Sen. Francis Tolentino about the naturalized players playing as locals in the PBA?

I think they should be able to play as locals, just have them take a Fil-foreigner spot. They're Filipino citizens anyway.

Where did you get this list?

There are rumblings of an foreign based Filipino player signing up for the draft, so far it seems like its between Abando and Thirdy, id take Thirdy since Abando's camp seems pretty against going to the PBA at the moment

ill post my reply here from the other thread:

The concern with this is obviously parity, where the most common issue raised is Ginebra possibly rostering Brownlee + another import. Moreover, a team in essence can even roster two or more naturalized players if the rule will be straightforward in identifying NP's as locals (imagine a team with Brownlee, Boatwright and Kouame + an import during import conferences--not impossible btw).

With this, the solution is obviously a creative policy that can mitigate the concerning scenarios above. But I cant see any incentive for any PBA stakeholder to push through with a complicated policy.

ill post my reply here from the other thread:

I would like to see players who are recognised as Filipinos to be able to practice their rights to play in a local league and considered local as they should be. The league and governors will sort it out. I agree with the concerns, but let them play as local first, sort it out after.

It should not be a problem if teams aside from SMC and MVP can pay this guys like JB, which is the same or close to JF salary. If not then they will just go to top teams and people will complain about parity in the league.

as per Naturalization documents provided to Justin Brownlee and Angelo Koume it is stated that

automatically, they had " all the rights, prerogative and privilege of a Filipino.

so if ever AK34 and JB exercises all those legal options as per their respective Republic Acts

officially signed by Senate Pres., Speaker of House and President of the PHI.

therefore the PBA Grandpas and it's Jurassic old rule books will be put in question

considering the PBA are under the jurisdiction of the Republic of the Philippines and they must

abide and adhere on all Legal process and Laws of the Republic with the full approval and acceptance by the Supreme Court of the Philippines

lesson learned, I don't know if the content of that youtube video are legit and officially comes from the horses mouth.

but if it is indeed leigt that the Senate are really questioning(?) the PBA then the bottomline here is

" it is for the benefits of Gilas Basketball moving forward ".

we've already discussing the so-called "FIBA exemption" on every thread of this platform since the time of Adam.

Chua's too busy with Gilas nowadays. I can see him enforcing this policy of treating NP as locals easily, especially since it'll benefit Ginebra.

Good Day Sir lurk,

if that's the mindset of Grandpa Chualay's nowadays, okay sa alright po yan Bossing.

forget about the parity at the PBA esp. on the Barangay, it's another issue

if the intention and purpose of the new Program Director for Boys and Men Team is to stack up both squad in preparation

to bang around mano a mano amongst the elite then so be it...SBP had the financial muscles both from RSA and MVP.

to lure blue chippers and possible exemption to some potentials.

that's the way it has to be.

I agree with your points Sir BJ. Although, hopefully Chua finds time to still build BGSM roster because whether we like it or not, reserve and practice players will come from Cone's local club same as when Reyes and Guiao was holding the NT coach position.

Since I am now rooting for Chua's roster building, I can no longer help but feel conflicted everytime Chua harvests players from farm team to build the roster of his teams knowing that it might benefit Gilas in the long run.

In summary, QMB to Ginebra. Let's go.
