Will you watch the long elimination? Will Pinoys watch the games. More teams will now have more slice of the pie but the pie is not growing.

That frankly lies in the relegation teams having a fanbase.

But if it were up to me, I'd just go straight promotion and relegation based on standings, not having elimination game formats. Well, will consider playoff format, but the teams have to have fans first to bolster finances.

Oops. Sorry. Totally forgot Will’s been drafted already. Just wishful thinking since he didn’t got clearance to play abroad.

Who wants to make a bet that he won't be in Terrafirma for long? Give it one conference max, he ends up at NLEX/Meralco/TnT... just wanna make a point that the PBA is a joke. Not a lot of 6'6 players who can defend the wings in most leagues in Asia... and you stop this kid from playing overseas to a bottom-dweller local team. Pathetic.

He'll play for NorthPort. Pido can develop and play tall wings like Ferrer and Malonzo at 3, but I dunno what he'll do with Navarro.

Navarro's a 6'6" guy who can defend the wing, but he's no shot creator, and can't shoot the 3 (although his FT shooting of 80-something in FIBA is promising). A guy that size has to be in the right environment for him to develop as a wing in the PBA.

Navarro can reunite with his old teammates Art Dela Cruz and Robert Bolick in Northport. Navarro and Bolick were in San Beda Team B and Art Dela Cruz was in San Beda Team A in 2015.

In the PBA-B.League meeting, Ricky Vargas stressed cooperation and respect: https://www.pba.ph/news/pba-jbl-talk-vargas-stresses-importance-of-cooperation-respect

Vargas says that Filipinos going to Japan is hurting the PBA and the training for the national team.

I think Kume is doing this because no PBA team could match and buyout B-League contracts. It's so funny how the higher ups of PH basketball are basically begging Japan to stop "poaching" their precious top Pinoy players, as though the players are their property. I'd understand Kiefer and Ray, but they also do this for players who don't even have contracts with a PBA team or the SBP.

Ray also had an expired contract.

Anyhow, the PBA teams should just really learn how to make do and develop the ones that remain, and hope some become legit PBA stars, ala PJ Simon. Adjust and adapt to the situation.

It will be a matter of time until Japan's UNIVAS schools start recruiting Pinoy players out of high school. The other pro leagues are already getting college kids who lost playing years because or COVID. Imagine if the PBA never tweaked its draft rules? Only the latak of the college leagues get to mix it up with Fil-Am discoveries. The fact is there's no shortage of pro-level players for the PBA even if it's a much inferior league with how they've chosen to remain stubborn with 3 "conferences", the idea of an "import" and its restrictions, and the reality of the league as a business being a joke.

Didnt they do this before with Maui Villanueva?

PBA is begging for foreign leagues to stop signing up our players.. desperation mode for PBA.. kind of low for PBA to do that.. they can’t flex their muscles just like that..

A lot, stretch 4 are bigs that could shoot (RDO) but lacks the footspeed to play as a wing. SF are legit wings that could also play the 2 spot and defend the perimeter. I don't remember RDO defending the perimeter he is more of a inside guy.

So why is it an deterent to have Oftana at 4, will he lose his speed. Watch again RdO plays defense at WC 2013, he did defend perimeter guys.

sign of weakness by Asia's pro oldest league who is 2nd only to the NBA as the oldest pro league, Japan's and Korea's feds/leagues probably laughing their assess off right now. Marcial and the PBA board should have gone full Vince McMahon 1990s mode, create new stars and rebrand/modernize the league as if there is a shortage of basketball players here in the country that they could market

heard b-league will issue some statement about this..

b-league is right about they’re just following fiba transfer regulation.. something PBA is not familiar of..

If Oftana plays the four in the same style as Dwight Ramos in last window, that's fine. Still get ballhandling duties and stay in the perimeter.

If Oftana is made to play four like say, a Troy Rosario, now that will be a problem.

Top 5 league in the world too yet is shamelessly begging other leagues not to sign Pinoys. Maybe they want a cut ?

Was Ray,/ Kiefer's, Greg absence really felt last season? Or they just can't wait to capitalize on Kobe, Dwight's, Thirdys popularity? For sure these guys would end up with mother SMC abd MVP teams anyway after a year or two.

The board should just capitalize in this through buy out clauses ala Liga Endesa et.al

Plus, once the new flavor of the month arises from the collegiate ranks, said players you mentioned will be discarded easily. they could just create, hype and market someone instead of begging Japan and Korea not to take our talent..

Sir you nailed it..it's all about technicality as far as FIBA basketball are concern..that's the problem when your perspective are inclusive not fully aware what's outside your backyard.
