That means even more restrictive than the rules in the PBA. At least they allow the import for the whole season.

But they could add more games in their league. That 15-game regular season will not improve their basketball. They could actually make their league an 18 or 24-game regular season.

Ganun din naman PBA.. But when they will compete in EASL, They will surely add another 1 world import to be competitive... It makes EASL to be more competitive because having 2 imports on both teams form IBL, VBA and TBSL, they have atleast a chance to upset more prestigious teams from 5 major basketball leagues in Asia.. And EASL allowed heritage players to play as locals unlike FIBA...

I really like the idea of TNT Tropang Giga and SMB going up against the likes of Alvark Tokyo and Chiba Jets from B.League, SK Knights and KT Sonicboom in KBL, Liaoning Flying Leopard and Guangdong Southern Tigers in CBA, and Fubon Braves and Taoyuan Pilots from P.League+.

The additional import will make the PBA teams more competitive in the EASL. I think it's about time to adjust the import rules.

However, how can we integrate the import while not stymieing the development of any promising 6'5"+ wings (e.g. Oftana, Kobe, Navarro) or our promising 6'7"-6'8" FIBA-eligible bigs who have potential to play PF or are already playing PF (e.g. Tamayo, Cariño, Baltazar)?

My question here is, The EASL also allow Asian imports to join their squads w/o restrictions? Let's say Kiefer and Shiga advances to the finals of B-League and qualify to participate in EASL, Will Kiefer join them or not? Also possibility that Ray Parks will cross path w/ his former team TNT in EASL (although very slim because Nagoya is not a title contender in some predictions)..

I think they will allow. Whatever are the eligibility rules of the league, the EASL will follow.

Honestly liked this trade for Phoenix Super LPG as well. They honestly just got their needed depth with Manganti and Anthony. Hoping for a top 4 finish again for them.

So they just flipped Abueva for Anthony, Manganti and a pick. Not bad, not bad.

Meanwhile, i think Northport is just a stop over for the muscleman. Me thinks he will be traded to Ginebra. This is somewhat correlated with the Japeth to B League rumor.

Methinks it might be a 1-for-1 swap. NorthPort might have to give up a pick on top of that too, because as of right now, Ginebra holds the 5th pick, and NorthPort has 8th.

That will open up a Malonzo-to-SMB trade.

Yeah, PBA shouldn't really have issues with that as most of their powerhouse teams field FIBA-ineligible locals that are arguably better or at least on par with the likes of Kiefer and Parks, so any advantage by a B. League club would just be negated if faced by a PBA team.

Manuel to Magnolia?

I dunno about the fit. He's a shorter Sangalang with a better jumper. Plus, Mags have Corpuz, Sangalang, and Reavis as their bigman rotation. Abueva and Dionisio also play 4 with them.

But still, he could be a good bigman addition.

He's another undersized bigman. Well they could probably have him for nothing so it's a good pickup I guess.

How in a world SMC grab mostly 75% all of PBA stars but they can't hire good coaches? Aside from CTC eh most of best coaches are in MVP group!!! Good players but bad coaching are still nothing... They won from the past but anything is change right now....

Victolero is actually their best coach right now, not Cone. He coaches a good defense. As of right now, he's leapfrogged the likes of Cone, Black, and Yeng in the coaching department. Mags were just outgunned by TNT in the Finals.

Very much agree. Good thing that Victolero is not coaching SMB, pagnagkataon eh mahihirapan siguro ang TNT to win the recent 2021 Phi Cup title with Victolero calling the shots at SMB

Or the question will be Victolero can handle the egos of SMB players? From Santos, Cabagnot, Romeo, Ross, etc...? Baka 1 season lang mag reresign na si Victolero!!! hehehehhehehe...

For sure, TNT would have had a hard time. SMB's talent combined with his defense? That's good. Thing is, who's a bigger defensive liability, Sangalang or June Mar? One thing's for sure, he won't zone much.

As for egos, good point. Biggest ego that Victolero had handled was Ping, and so far Abueva. I don't think Lee and Sangalang have big egos. Would be interesting to see if he could manage more of those at SMB.

Ping and Abueva are coachable in the court.. Those two are no problems by their coaches whenever Tab,Chot,etc... They have only problems in outside basketball but they forget that inside the court.. That's it, But not as likes of Romeo, Santos and Cabagnot.. But i agree, SMB will be better team with Victolero than Austria.. Victolero coached SMB will be cause a bigger headache for coach Chot and TNT side..

Ayun na nga, e. Ping and Abueva are the biggest egos Victolero had handled, but they are really coachable. That's kind of a coach's dream, e.

Simon Camacho was drafted by TNT back in 2019. I think teams should give him a second look, given that he's the top MVP candidate in Filbasket, and leads that league in points, rebounds, and blocks. He's also a versatile defender as far as I know.

He's 6'5", but he's also quick, making him able to play both 3 and 4. He could be very useful for Chot. Given how Chot kept giving opportunities to Kib Montalbo, I won't be surprised to see Camacho being given those same opportunities, especially considering how Chot loves small ball, and Camacho can play small-ball 5.

But his shooting form stinks as hell. I was always watching the games of Adamson, both in UAAP and their practice. Brod, I can tell you that Camacho's shooting form needs to improve if he wants to have a chance to play in TNT.

I see. A lot of work to be done if he doesn't want to be stuck at center his whole career. Shooting's important if you're a forward.

At least shooting mechanics are fixable. I improved my shooting from the FT line and from midrange when I changed my shot mechanics. I'm sure that can be fixable. That takes time and practice, though.

Maybe Phoenix can give him that opportunity? He's better fit there...

I forgot, Topex also plays small-ball with Phoenix. Maybe he can develop as a small-ball 4 there, or maybe even 3. He just needs to get ahead of Anthony and Manganti in the rotation.

I forgot.. Maybe NLEX can try this guy.. Yes, CYC is sucks in terms on knowledge in FIBA rules, but on terms of developing players in a right position eh he is the best here... Oftana, Trollano, Semerad can interchange position naman.. He can be like Tugade under CYG...

Yeng can work his magic to Simon Camacho. Classmate is a good 6'4-6'5 forward. He just needs to work with his shooting.

Aquino and Cariño are listed as PFs. I think their teams will develop them to play that position long-term. This is an edge that the B.League has over the PBA. With imports around (and these are usually bigs), tall locals have to learn how to play smaller positions. We don't have that culture in the PBA, given how we have an All-Filipino and an import conference with a 6'5" height limit.

Ang disadvantage lang dito, bigs won't have many opportunities to play, kasi tatlo ang import.

Mas exciting nga raw kasi ang 6'5-6'6 because they can make spectacular plays.

Ironic because you have Roosevelt Adams playing Center when he’d be much more exciting as a guard.

“Nag-a-adjust pa rin si Roosevelt Adams sa sistema ng basketball sa PBA, yung physicality. Siguro kailangan magpalapad siya. Minsan nahihiya pang tumira, e.” - John Cardel

I kind of understand having him play Center because he could create mismatches in the PBA because of his athleticism and skillset for his size but then this quote would defeat the purpose. He would gain an advantage because now he can play more inside and be physical but then he loses the edge in the other department making him.an RDO clone instead of a PBA version of Anthony Davis

Eto problema sa mga old-school mentality dito. Kapag kwatro ka, you have to bulk up and play in the paint. This holds true especially if you're 6'3"-6'4" and up. Wala pang konsepto ng small-ball even though that's the philosophy that fits here better.

But to be fair to Cardel, at least Roosevelt Adams is playing from the perimeter and attacking from there. Kung 4 man siya, he's a small-ball 4 (which is a wing), not a traditional stretch big. Even Adams says that he produced better when his playing position was changed from 4 to guard.

Thing is, would Yeng see Camacho as a wing or as a big?

Well, Yeng has enough bigs to accommodate Camacho to the forward position, so the latter will be fine, he'll develop as a 3/4, hopefully. Yeng is not much of a small-ball coach anyway.
