In the PBA, man. Hahahahahahahaha.

On a serious note. Seems like the entire PBA (not counting the farm teams) evolved while SMB didn't. Kung ano sila noon, ganon pa rin ngayon. I guess that happens when you rack up championships. But yun, everything has an end.

This is great news. Hopefully our team can stack up well and prepare. They're gonna face different offenses. Our defense will be tested.

Finally, the club tournament that involves PBA teams and deserves to be hyped by Pinoy hardcore bball fans will now be commencing next year. Basta home and away ang format, talagang kaabang-abang.

That's what happens when one racked up championships all becoz he has a super bloated (with talents) roster while the rest of the teams have malnourished rosters.

I think its just about time for James Yap to retire to give way to the younger generation players. He has become injury prone in the last few years & his skills have definitely diminished significantly. Yap isn't like Kelly Williams or Rafi Reavis who despite advanced age can still play at a high level.

Its time to call its quits as there's nothing more to prove. Big Game James has already achieved everything a basketball superstar can ask for. He should be giving the younger players opportunity to shine also.

I feel Sean Manganti has good potential when given enough exposure. He has become a forgotten player at Northport since Malonzo's entry to the team

Yeah, Manganti lost his spot and opportunity. Maybe Topex can give Manganti some confidence and exposure. Let's test how Phoenix can develop players.

Yeah just let the young guns grow. ROS should trade their vets and rebuild

Phoenix has a counteroffer to NorthPort: https://tiebreakertimes.com.ph/tbt/phoenix-makes-counter-to-vic-manuel-to-northport-trade/223991

They want Sean Manganti and Sean Anthony for Vic and Calisaan. They really wanna push it.

Honestly liked this trade for Phoenix Super LPG as well. They honestly just got their needed depth with Manganti and Anthony. Hoping for a top 4 finish again for them.

So they just flipped Abueva for Anthony, Manganti and a pick. Not bad, not bad.

Meanwhile, i think Northport is just a stop over for the muscleman. Me thinks he will be traded to Ginebra. This is somewhat correlated with the Japeth to B League rumor.

In the article says that they will use pba rankings after the season who will join EASL.. so definitely tnt will be there as AFC champions.. maybe the import conference champs this season will be the other one.. unless tnt again will champs in import conference then the PBA will choose who among 2nd placers among AFC (magnolia) and this import conference will willing to join.. I hope tnt will not back out because they have the chance to win the tourney.. Moore+McDaniels+Mikey will be hard to stop against any pro ball clubs from other Asian leagues.. then if they allowed naturalized players as locals then chot can tapped kouame as naturalized local player.. especially that they will face bigger imports of other leagues mala Salah meijri..

It's PBA top 4, meaning the bottom 4 in the draft order. TNT's spot is most probably locked in. Most likely to enter are Magnolia and SMB. The 4th is up for grabs.

I think what they flipped for Anthony, Manganti, and a pick was their first rounder last draft, which Alaska used to pick Adamos, and a second in the same draft, which Alaska used to pick Taylor Browne.

That looks like a bargain.

Phoenix got a pick on top of that, nice. At least they're now rebuilding officially after the Abueva trade.

They sort of hit it out of the park. Nice.

Phoenix Is Finally Not a Farm Team. Even their trades with Big and Established teams are ok. After reviewing, Phoenix has done this:

1. Trade With Magnolia

Phoenix Got : Banchero, 2021 6th pick and 18th(Aljun Melecio) overall pick

Magnolia Got: Abueva, 10th Pick

2. Trade with Alaska

Phoenix Got: Vic Manuel, 2021 7th(Larry Muyang) and 19th pick (Nick Demusis)

Alaska Got: Heruela, 2021 6th and 16th pick

SUMMARY FOR PHOENIX

Gain: Chris Banchero, Vic Manuel, Aljun Melecio, Larry Muyang, and Nick Demusis

Lost: Calvin Abueva, 2021 6th, 10th, and 16th overall picks.

And now, they are trying to flip Vic Manuel inyo Manganti and Sean Anthony.

Phoenix is fully rebuilding. But I think at least we can see their direction

I think they'll give this core of Wright and and Perkins a year at most. If they don't win within next year, well, it might be time to trade one or both. Wright is 30, and Perkins is 29. Probably get something (picks and promising prospects) out of them while they're still at their peak. Maybe take advantage of the farm teams.

And Anthony is much cheaper price over Manuel.. max salary si Manuel while veteran max Lang ata si Sean.. I don't know thier official salaries but what I know Vic signs max contract w/ Alaska before he was traded.. so good move for phoenix to remove a player who is a max contract but always injured.. sayang pasahod SA kanya.. and they can hire some free agents if they wanted too because they save some money for Vic Manuel trade...

Yeah, actually. Sean Anthony is a discount Abueva, just taller and a better shooter. He's gonna be a positive contributor for Phoenix.

So it means top 4 from CBA, KBL, B-League and T1 - P- League of Taiwan? 20 teams overall.. that is nice.. Our PBA teams will be tested, especially for Junmar if ever.. He will feel the real competition that he should facing... Not those small/undersized big man only in the PBA...

It's top 2 for this year, actually. So 8 teams muna. 10 kung kasama Taiwan. The top 4 for the PBA is for the qualification tournament for the EASL to determine which 2 teams should go to the tournament.

Agree with June Mar. Not just him, though. All our bigs. And I think we'll need to adjust the import rules and the calendar to the EASL. We'll need imports for the whole season para may chemistry agad. You can't just have them play over 3 quarters of a team's season.

Kasama daw Taiwan.. So it means 10 teams for 2022 season.. If this tournament will succeed then i will expect expansion teams come from Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam leagues in the future.. Unlike in FIBA that those 3 SEA Nations can't match the strength of East Asia top 5, In a club tourney, champs from TBSL, IBL and VBA can compete against top teams from 5 big Asian PRO leagues due to have 2 imports per team plus one naturalized local slot per team.. As for IBL, Satria Muda Pertamina Jakarta will be the representative.. 2 world imports plus Lester Prosper (or Marquess Bolden) will be enough for IBL champs to be competitive against the likes of TNT, Alvark Tokyo, Liaoning, etc... From Thailand will be Hi-Tech Bangkok City and VBA Vietnam will be Saigon Heat... Having 2 world imports for those teams from SEA can help them to be competitive and generalize more popularity of sport in those countries more...

Actually, VBA only allows one import and 1 or 2 heritage vietnamese.
