Phoenix seems to be in the business of helping others.. taking disgruntled and redundant players

vic is way better than abueva plus it gives them a veteran presence. in exchange for abueva they got manuel and banchero. seems a good plan to me.

Can we petition to allow him to play in the PBA as a local? Can this dying league learn to adapt? Id rather let him play than some fil something us basketball reject choosing the philippines as his last option.

Our beloved SMC evil empire won't allow it becoz ma mitigate yung edge nila sa frontline. Remember, SMB & Ginebra own the most formidable frontcourt in the PBA right now. IF Magnolia secures CStand from Northport via lopsided trade then Magnolia's frontcourt would also be devastating.

Agree on allowing Kouame to play as a local. Goddamn, Filipinos are Filipinos, naturalized or no. The Constitution says so. Time for them to abide by the supreme law of the land. They should adjust the rules by stating all Filipino citizens can play as locals.

As for SMC, it's mainly SMB that will have a problem, as their frontline (specifically, their centers) is the keystone to their team. The same can be said of neither Ginebra nor Mags.

They got a 1st for next years draft. Obviously Phoenix wasnt willing to just give away this years draft pick.

true. that first pick next year means alaska will pick two including their own in the first round. those are solid picks since its first round.

Well Escoto isn't a huge loss so maybe Brondial might even be an upgrade. Is MGR an UFA? I don't know how exactly UFA works in the PBA. Maybe they could extend him before the trade. Why can't they just sign him outright of they really like him?

Well, apparently, Heruela was traded despite not having a new contract. He's one of the eligible UFAs. Apparently you can trade UFA's without a live contract. Phoenix said that they had no intention of renewing him.

The PBA has to clarify this rule. They have to state that no UFA without a live contract can be traded, as he is on the FA list. Otherwise, unrestricted free agency will just be nominal. While they're at it, they have to look at contract status at the time of the trades and void them if necessary. Preferably applied retroactively.

I think Heruela becomes a UFA March 1, so basically he gets to tryout with Alaska.

Oh, I see. At least he was traded under contract. There's an off chance that Alaska will re-sign him, given their problems at the PG spot.

Kawawa naman si Heruela. If only BW didn't trade him. Sayang.. Di pa ata nakakacomplete ng 1 season sa isang team.

the guy is an inconsistent scorer and doesnt play defense. he has not changed since UC.

Actually hiring former basketball players as GM is good.. Because they know what is need for their team.. Unlike those GM's from Perrafirma, Blackmarket and Northfarm.. These GM's are noob in basketball set-up..

Well. Coach Bonnie Tan of Northport was a player i think in Fil Chi Leagues and UST. Maybe you are talking about former PBA players being team managers.

Slowly but surely, pba is evolving rin naman.

More teams are more versatile now.

Most of our 6'5 Above Wings are Playmakers e. Gabe, JDV, Art, Arvin, etc.

Adams can be a scorer. If he is not in Terrafirma.

As for the Incoming Rookies, Yes they Filams are the only hope.

But I get the Point that Pba Teams Should get some Real Centers or 5 too. If not, some of them will play 5.

Obviously, A 5 that plays wing is unrealistic in Pba

If Gilas plays in the PBA, let's hope they help the PBA evolve. They have 3rd wing PF's in Navarro and possibly Kobe. And if Kouame is allowed, teams may ask for import reinforcements for the whole year, and that can be a good thing, as we need to get used to playing with and against foreigners all year long.
