Lol.

Northport - Abueva, Melton, 2022 pick

Magnolia - Cstandhadinger

Yeng Guiao to Magnolia because he dont want to trade kiefer.

But MVP management wanted to make TNT stronger.

Ang gulo na ng pba. Lol.

Lol, Management issues are usual in a Pro-league. Abueva, Melton for CStans is fair or lopsided?

If Abueva is really in grandfather age (Hyperbole), then it js lopsided

Agree. The thing is, even Melton isn't that young either.

Standhardinger, though already 31 yo, is a quality big man in the same boat as Junmar Fajardo, and since quality bigs are scarce commodity in the PBA, a player like CS if of high value. Abueva is good if he places his head in place. Problem is, he's very unpredictable. You won't know when his antics will explode. And if the rumor is true that Abueva is already in his mid-30's, then I say his value isn't that high anymore. About Melton, what has he done in the PBA so far to merit such value?

If Phoenix will disband, I hope they go to Alaska! Too bad Alaska doesn't want to spend.

Because TNT is the only MVP team that can end the SMC reign.

Time for a PBA Expansion Shell, Ayala, SM. Jollibee, Chooks to Go needs to get an invitation from the Commissioner.

except for Chooks to Go, those companies are not interested in joining the PBA, remember the Ayalas acquired Kia but avoided the PBA franchise like it has leprosy, Sy, Gokongwei and Tan would rather finance UAAP schools rather than deal with the evil empires, and with the economy right now, i doubt our oligarchs/tycoons/elite would spend millions on sports.

too bad the PBA is im dire need of new teams

Kia Philippines will now be run by Ayala Corporation

Ayala Corp. set to acquire KIA Philippines, but PBA comeback not part of plan, says source

edit:
Last year, a report came out saying Phoenix Petroleum is set to acquire the KIA distributorship in the country in a deal that includes the acquisition of the PBA franchise lock, stock, and barrel, which would have paved the way for the oil company owning two ballclubs in the pro league.

wow Dennis Uy almost aquired Kia and its PBA franchise

Blame telenovelas, not all companies will salivating to join pba..lahat ng nasa pba ngayun mahal lang talaga yun basketball..

i also blame the PBA's marketing as well, Abs cbn marketed the UAAP like it was a matter of national security, the league should hire those marketing geniuses displaced by abs cbn's shutdown. PBA's marketing is still stuck in the 90s and caters too much to its niche market (the average, working class, below average income earner demographic), the PBA needs to target a new audience/demographic

Overrated..., the ones who spend millions in marketing not on taxes.. they just pay somebody to hype their shows up and believe me only UAAP are the ones making money and not ABS..

The abs cbn machinery isnt marketing, its just they are the largest network in the Philippines back then..

Who has the most underrated marketing startegists in the pba? SMC.. they have fans who bash the Magnolia, Ginebra or SMB to death.. Manok constant champions of Bora Cup, from Barney serye up until to No Junmar big problem lines.. all SMC marketing's doing..even the Paliga Ni Boss Alfrancis as Chualay has embraced the evil authority in the pba..

sabagay they have the largest reach back then and there's no real competition,

-wait, so Abs didnt earn from their uaap broadcast deal? blocktimer sila?

No, whatever they earn, nagastos lang nila sa so called marketing.outside ateneo la salle they didnt outrate even ncaa in aktv. And we know even in untv ,ateneo and la salle have their following and somehow oiut of the blue, UP was able to dethrone them as the most popular team in uaap game in and game out (outside atene-la salle) although the battle of katipunan was also solid in marketing standpoint..

Solar can market college basketball and pba more than abs, ang problema limited funds ng solar and cant live in break even income so bibigay sila abs.. they can thru tax evasion joke:cool:

Don't think we should put all the blame to these telenovelas. PBA had their fair share on marketing and advertisements during the 2000s because of leadership that treats everyone fair. Balance the league and teams might be interested in joining. Since it is dominated by only MVP or SMC, other teams are being hesitant to join. Don't blame solely on telenovelas and their marketing strategy.
