This Phoenix team might come full circle. From Barako Bull (SMC Farm Team) to Phoenix (independent) then back with SMC again...

I hope the sale would not involve the PBA franchise, Phx can carry the name of 2Go. But if bussiness is really that bad and with the election is near, the smartest decision is to give up the franchise. What a fun league, 3 SMC Teams, 2 Teams with SMC partial ownership in North Porth and Phx (if ever), 2 farm teams, 3 MVP teams and 2 indy teams that might sell their franchise soon.

case of point, when pop cola was sold to SMC, the pba franchise was included, same when Coca Cola majority shares were sold to FEMSA.

but on the other hand, when kia was sold to ayala by columbian motors, the pba franchise was not included

sad to see that the generation after Don Jaime are not basketball fans and decided to sell the franchise after Don Jaime step down as the head of the Ayala Group. Too bad the Ayalas could match MVP and RSA financially.

SMC lost this trade but they got the biggest star in the PBA and help the Magnolia brand which lost its luster when they traded James Yap.

one less pg for Magnolia which is actually good, Phx gets a quality PG/backcourt partner for Wright, plus a high draft pick, and they don't have to deal woth Abueva anymore (any moment he might snap) a win for Phx here,

wow, so the rumors back in May were true, Long Hair will only allow Abueva's return of he is traded to SMC

if Mags is not done trading they might get CStan, imagine a death lineup of

Barrocw-Jalalon-Lee-Abueva-Cstan

Calvin and Wright have already good chemistry.

Banchero is a good player. But never got close to Abueva level.

I don't want to hear " Draft is stocked"

How many times a draft class disappoint us. Just because draft is full of filams, doesnt mean it is a deep draft.

But yeah. More fair than pringle to Ginebra, and Perez to SMB.

Just that I will ask for more if I am Phoenix

How many times a draft class disappoint us. Just because draft is full of filams, doesnt mean it is a deep draft.

Depends who Magnolia picks as their draft pick. I'm guessing their closing 5 could be situational. Only constants i think would be Lee, Abueva, and Sangalang.

No way.. Abueva is a superstar.. He can bring a team into a contender.. Banchero is a second rated PG.. Not on a level of Lee, Pringle and Castro.. Value of Abueva on Magnolia is Paul Lee.. Magnolia won this trade.. And Phoenix will be like Powerade.. Expecting in the future Wright and Perkins will be traded..

Abueva is a ticking time bomb, despite his recent attitude change any moment he could snap, Phx saved itself from a lot of headaches plus they got a quality PG in Banchero and 2 draft picks in a loaded draft, for now its a win for Phx.

What's more, Abueva was the heart and soul of Phoenix's playoff run. However, it can still be said that Phoenix won this trade, due to the depth of the draft class. They can get a star-level player at 6, and they have two 2nds, with which they can get quality players.
